This is a rare California FJ40 Land Cruiser with just about everything on it. It is a soft top 1962 with rare door openings not normally seen on FJ40s. This is a ground up build and is rust free. Every little detail has been thought about with thousands of dollars and man hour put into it. You could not build this vehicle for the price it will sell for. It has been road tested as well as trail tested and can be driven anywhere with no issues. It has a zz4 crate producing 355 hp motor with less than 2000 miles on it and a 700R automatic transmission. The axles front and Rear are Terra Danna 60s. It has an Atlas II Transfer case (4.3). There are ARB air lockers front and rear. The vehicle has hydro assist steering and has Dynatrac front end knuckle ends. The Radiator is an aluminum radiator. It has dual optimum batteries and is wired so that your batteries always have juice to start never leaving you stranded. It has a warn winch with synthetic rope. On-Board air with an air horn and fittings to plug in your air. Rock lights installed under the vehicle. There are two heaters installed in this vehicle. It has a custom made swing away and a rare rear tailgate. It also has a custom cage with a overhead console complete with map lights and a Altimeter out of a plane. The seats are Recaro seats. Dual shocks mounted on the front with a Tuffy box in the front. The wheels are a true Bead lock rim. As you can see the list goes on and on. I have owned many land cruiser and this is truly a one of a kind rig. Hardcore guys as well as weekend warriors love this rig. It will take you on the toughest trails or will take you down the highway at 70 mph. Don't have a cut up rig when you can have a nice land cruiser that will turn heads in town as well as on the trail. I am sure I have left things out as thing has just about everything on it. I have no problem meeting anyone in person to see and drive this vehicle. Please feel free to call me with any Questions you might have. Jeff 916 224 4215

Toyota gives up more information on Frankfurt-bound Yaris Hybrid-R concept

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Toyota has undeniably carved out a niche for itself as the industry's leader in hybrid propulsion. What started out with the original Prius in 1997 has, over the past sixteen years, ballooned to what Toyota reports as a global hybrid portfolio of 23 models. But few (if any of them) are particularly exciting.
That's where the Yaris Hybrid-R concept comes in. Set to be showcased along with the rest of Toyota's hybrid and fuel-cell lineup at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the concept starts with one of the Japanese auto giant's least exciting models and upgrades it to more enticing territory. Toyota Motorsport GmbH - the same Cologne, Germany-based division that operated the company's F1 team, currently runs its Le Mans program and gave us that bonkers 650-horsepower Lexus LS - has slotted in a version of Toyota's new 1.6-liter Global Race Engine and paired it with a couple of electric motors for hybrid propulsion and through-the-road all-wheel drive.
Like the TS030 Hybrid LMP1, the Yaris Hybrid-R concept uses a super capacitor (instead of a conventional battery) to store the regenerated brake energy and give it upwards of 400 horsepower. That's about all Toyota is revealing at this point, but this is the first time it has confirmed the project is based on a Yaris, of all things, and the confirmation comes with the solitary teaser rendering you see above. Check out the press release after the jump and watch this space for more as Frankfurt fast approaches.

Toyota FT-1 Concept presents a future we want to live in [w/videos]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Toyota has brought its A game to the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, showing off the striking FT-1 Concept. Short for "Future Toyota," the FT-1 is, we're imagining, the supposed Supra Concept we reported on early in December.
Penned by the Calty Design Research team, the FT-1 draws inspirations from the FT-HS and the Lexus LF-LC concepts from 2007 and 2012, respectively. We certainly see a bit of Lexus LF-A in the design, while there's more than a hint of Formula One in the FT-1's pointed nose.
"Our team was heavily influenced by Toyota's sports car past, especially Celica and Supra, and we sought to capture some of that history. It is an aggressive, track-focused sports car concept with a presence that has been amplified for shock and awe," said Alex Shen, Calty's Studio Chief Designer.

Autocar pits McLaren MP4-12C against turbo Toyota GT86

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The Toyota GT86, in all of its forms, is one of the best-handling cars money can buy, a trait that can put a smile on the faces of all but the most jaded car enthusiasts. But if good handling isn't what they're looking for, then what is? Our first guess would have to be more power, something the 200-horsepower Toyota would benefit from. Autocar tries out that theory by driving two turbocharged GT86s on track, then pitting the more powerful one against the 616-hp McLaren MP4-12C in a track battle.
The first GT86 turbo Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe drives makes around 255 rear-wheel horsepower and a bucket-load more torque than the stock car. That's plenty of power to either have a lot of fun or get into a lot of trouble. But the GT86 that Sutcliffe tails in the McLaren is race-prepped, stripped to the bone and wears slicks to harness a heavy-hitting 335 hp at the wheel. Weighing in at under 2,500 pounds, the Toyota can't overcome the MP4-12C's power-to-weight ratio of 5.3 pounds per horsepower, but it comes pretty close.
Enjoy a lot of chasing and drifting fun in the video below!
