I purchased this truck last year after months of searching for near perfect maintenance history on a 06'-07'. The PO was beyond anal about getting this truck in for scheduled maintenance. The current mileage is 113,3xx, I do usually drive it daily, so that mileage will go up slightly. There have been no accidents that I'm aware of, it's a non-smoker car, etc. I can send the service records as a PDF to any perspective buyers, below they are copy and pasted from the Toyota Owners website, any small gaps (oil changes for instance) I assume were done at a local service station:
11/13/2013: New air filter, and serpentine belt 09/26/2013: 112,342 - OIL & FILTER CHANGE, ROTATE TIRES, EXTRA OIL CHARGE. 01/10/2013: 106,018 - OIL & FILTER CHANGE 04/20/2012: 104,466 - EXPRESS LUBE TRUCK 11/15/2011: 98,876 - EXPRESS LUBE TRUCK 07/06/2011: 92,660 - REPLACE WATERPUMP, TIMING BELT, EXTERIOR LIGHT ASSY., STEERING REPAIR, BODY HARDWARE 03/30/2011: 88,520 - 90000 MILE MAINTENAN, TIRE(S), SOUND SYSTEM REPAIR, 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT, INNER C/V BOOT, REAR BRAKE PADS 11/05/2010: 82,069 - EXPRESS LUBE TRUCK, TIRE ROTATION 04/05/2010: 71,931 - DETAILED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE LANCRUISER 03/09/2010: 70,308 - 15000 MAINTENANCE 10/05/2009: 60,588 - 30/60/90/120 THOUSAND MILE SERVICE INCLUDING LUBE OIL AND FILTER/TIRE ROTATION A, VALVOLINE FUEL INJECTION POWERFLUSH SERVICE. THIS SERVICE UTILIZES A POWERFUL CL, TOYOTA COMPUTERIZED FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIAL 06/30/2009: 53,859 - EXPRESS LUBE TRUCK 04/08/2009: 48,792 - TIRE REPAIR 03/25/2009: 48,089 - 45,000 MAINTENANCE 12/03/2008: 42,831 - LUBE, OIL & FILTER, FRONT BRAKE PADS 09/09/2008: 37,474 - 30K SERVICE 05/02/2008: 29,153 - TOYOTA EXPRESS LUBE, TIRE ROTATION 11/27/2007: 21,015: LUBE, OIL & FILTER, ROTATE AND BALANCE I bought it stock with plans to take out the AHC and add an EMU lift, but AHC has always performed perfectly and I do like the flexibility of it, so AHC remains, and I think a fantastic system. As for modifications: -I added 275/70/18 Duratrac's about 8000 miles ago, they were just rotated less than 1000 miles ago. -BIOR bumpers and sliders. Mike was great as I went back and forth numerous times about the custom front bumper. I deleted the hoop, and had him add the fog/driving light 'pockets.' I also had his powder coater spray it to color match (as close as possible) the galatic gray exterior. The fogs are Rigid Dually's, the spots are Trekpod Quad XT's, both lights work off the OEM fog light switch. The winch installed in the bumper is an Engo E10000 with synthetic line. The sliders are his basic model. I had him make the rear bumper with no accessories accept a hitch, as 99.9% of the time (for my use) it would be inconvenient to have a swing out. -EMS cat-back with the hidden exhaust tip (I replaced the O2 sensors too). -I have an aftermarket warranty on the truck, it's transferable and good through 12/2015 or about 16,000 more miles. -I also added Sirius to the to the stock head unit and weathertech liners. If there was something wrong on this truck I would list it, but there are no issues that I'm aware of. There are a couple minor door dings and scuffs. The seats and leather have no rips or major wear, there are some minor stains on the carpet, nothing out of the ordinary. |

This first-gen Toyota Celica is one mean mother
Tue, 09 Jul 2013Brian Karasawa's gen-one Toyota Celica is, in a word, badass. As a long-standing fan of the marque, the doting owner has tried to both restore and improve his Celica keeping period-correct modifications in mind. The 20R/22R mashup engine is outputting roughly 185 horsepower and graced with a lot of JDM-specific parts and modifications. Clearly, the exhaust has been upgraded from stock, as clips of the orange Toyota in motion are accompanied by one hell of a nice sound.
Tastes clearly vary, and there's not as much love for the first-wave of Japanese metal as there is for similar era American-iron, but we're pleased to see these cars finally getting more time in the spotlight. Scroll down below to see why we're stoked, and consider cruising your local Craigslist for late 1970s and early 1980s Japanese coolness (before we get there first).
Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV ready for production, Nissan tests Leaf-to-Home energy management
Fri, Oct 17 2014Toyota will begin selling its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV) in Japan in December. The US and Europe can expect to see the car become available next summer. The FCV, which will likely be called "Mirai" (meaning "future") in Japan, is ready for production ahead of its initial deadline at the end of the fiscal year in March. Toyota planned for annual production of 700 units, but might increase output to meet higher-than-expected demand, which is currently nearing 1,000 units. The cars will mostly be sold in the four cities where a hydrogen fueling infrastructure is already being put in place: Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. Read more at Nikkei Asian Review. Nissan is testing the Leaf EV as part of an energy management system including "Leaf to Home" technology. The system allows the Leaf to help support the power grid during peak energy usage, or provide backup power to a home or building during outages, particularly in emergencies like natural disasters. Using the Leaf's battery to provide electricity during peak hours would lessen the demand on the grid and make the system work more efficiently. Furthermore, if consumers are compensated for the energy saved by using the Leaf for power during periods of high demand, it could encourage more people to adopt the EV. CDP keeps track of how much companies are disclosing about their impact on global climate change. "The need for data on corporate climate change impacts and strategies to reduce them has never been greater," says CDP CEO Paul Simpson. "For this reason we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP's Climate Disclosure Leadership Index." Other perfect scores were earned by Nissan, BMW, Daimler and General Motors. Read more in the press release from Honda below. Scientists at Stanford University have developed a lithium ion battery that can warn users before it overheats. A thin layer of copper between the anode and the layer separating the anode from the cathode acts as a sensor. When it detects lithium buildups from overcharging are approaching the separator, it sends an early alert long before it gets to a point where it would cause a short (which could lead to a fire). The new safety measure could be used in all sorts of battery applications, and not be limited to EVs. Learn more at Phys.org.
Toyota SEMA concepts promote active lifestyles, rallying [w/video]
Thu, 31 Oct 2013Toyota has six vehicles that it's bringing to the Specialty
Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show next week, all of which were developed by and for people who live active lifstyles. Four of them are the result of the Toyota Dream Build Challenge, which tasked a team of athletes and vehicle customization shops to build Toyota sedans, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles in seven weeks that would enhance performance in their respective sports.
We'll lead off with the CamRally Camry, developed by NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman, Kyle Busch Motorsports and Mooresville, NC shop Detroit Speed, Inc. for the Dream Build Challenge, because it appeals to us gearheads (sure, call us one-sided). It was totally transformed into a rally vehicle, and it has to be the most badass Camry we can remember seeing. The sedan is always a bit flaccid-looking in stock form, but the CamRally's wide body and other exterior upgrades and the turbocharger make us forget about that, as do its stripped, painted interior and Sparco race seat.
