NO RESERVES
Let me start by saying you would be hard pressed to find another 2003 Land Cruiser that has been mechanically maintained like this one and with only 66,000 miles.  I have literally spent thousands doing maintenance work and such.  LexPro in Murfreesboro replaced the timing belt, drive belt, hoses and transmission flush at 40,000 miles.  I've had the front and rear wheel bearing replaced at around 60,000 miles (call your local Toyota dealer and ask about the cost - make sure you are sitting down!) - front axles replaced around 50,000.  New muffler, new rotors both front and back.  Just had  the four wheel drive fluid change performed at 63,982 miles (transfer case, differential fluid both front and back).  I have the receipts for all of the foregoing work.  That said, this vehicle runs and drives top notch.  If you reading this you know how much life this Cruiser has left and I've spent the money to take this one way down the road.  This is a top running vehicle - the only thing I can think of that needs to be replaced is the two hood shocks that hold up the hood when opened (an easy do-it-yourself job).  I did not intend on selling this vehicle hence the reason for all the maintenance repairs.  My oldest son is now driving and youngest is not that far behind.  Time for my mid-life two door sports car.

Now on to the rest:

Exterior:  The exterior shows well, but I use this as an everyday driver so dings and scratches are present - this is NOT a showroom new vehicle.  Although the paint is shinny, flaws in the paint can be detected.  I'm a picky person so I would rate the exterior as average.  My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I want to provide you an honest description.  No rust or rust bubbles present - no paint fading.  I think it could use a good detailing, but that will be up to the new owner.  Again, the vehicle looks nice, but do not think this is show vehicle quality or showroom new.

Interior: The interior is clean - no rips/tears or stains in the leather.  Everything works as it should.  I love the touch screen system on these vehicles.  Navigation/audio/climate all work properly.  The carpet does have a few stains from my kids (especially in the cargo area).  Not showroom by any means, but not trashy.  Again, average interior that was enjoyed by me and my family.  The factory DVD player has two wireless headsets - a life saver if you have kids.  Tires have great tread.  Window sticker was over $63,000.00

Hopefully you have an understanding about the condition of my Land Cruiser.  I do not play games - this will be sold to the highest bidder and I have the clean Tennessee title ready to go.  I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle across the country and back.  I live near the Nashville Airport and can help with delivery if needed.

Couple survives 50-foot fall from overpass in Toyota

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

It doesn't matter the make or model - modern vehicles are technological miracles when it comes to occupant protection. Take this story out of New York City, which involved two people going for a very wild ride in a Toyota Matrix.
Carlos and Raquel Broadbelt were on the Cross Bronx Expressway overpass when they hit a patch of ice while dodging a pothole, sending them hurtling into a guardrail and over the side of the overpass. They fell 50 feet onto the road below. Despite the catastrophic accident - and the mangled Toyota - both driver and passenger walked away. The couple spent a night in the hospital just for observation.
The Broadbelts' miraculous survival has even surprised doctors, who told Dave Carlin from CBS New York they'd never seen an accident like it. Take a look below for the full news report from CBS New York.

Toyota recounts past Supra glories

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

It could just be a slow start to the news week around the Toyota offices, but its UK blog has posted a brief history on its legendary Supra sports car. Read into however you'd like, but there has been plenty of speculation as to the return of the Supra nameplate in recent years (including last month from incoming Toyota chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada).
Built from April 1978 through July 2002, Toyota's sports coupe made quite a name for itself as both the Celica Supra (shown above) and the Supra, and the blog post charts many of the changes and highlights through the years. Head on over to the Toyota UK blog to read more about this Supra's history, and then be sure to check out the gallery of images from Toyota spanning all four generations.

Toyota mini doc chronicles Tundra towing Space Shuttle Endeavor

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Toyota has worked up a quick video detailing the brand's involvement in the transportation of the Space Shuttle Endeavour last year. As you may recollect, the California Science Center ran into a hitch when it came to moving Endeavour from LAX to its new home. While most of the route would be covered by a robotically controlled transporter, one portion of the route directed the shuttle over an interstate. Unfortunately, the bridge across wasn't designed to stand up to the weight of the shuttle and its motorized sled.
The Science Center would have to remove Endeavour from its transporter and place it on a lighter, non-motorized sled. That's where longtime Science Center sponsor Toyota came in. As it turns out, the automaker had to prove to the California Science Center that a Tundra could actually tow the massive shuttle, so engineers put on a little demonstration with a stock truck pulling the equivalent weight over flat ground for the same distance. Once the Science Center was satisfied that the Tundra could pull it off, the move was green lit and the rest is history. Check out the short documentary below for yourself.
