Totally nice and very dependable collector item vehicle that is truly a joy to drive and own. This SUV has an Alpine CD/radio with matching door speakers. Has custom halo HD headlights with LED custom tail lights. Engine has 206,000 miles, mostly highway. Has a new tow bar (6 months) installed, with custom 24inch rims, third row seat, and K&N air filter system. Flaws are as follows: front seats have seat covers because of wear, no dome light for interior because i had a tv/dvd unit installed and removed it, and a small 2 inch rust spot on hatchback under the window. "Vanilla." Taken in modern context, that's not a compliment, but it should be. Vanilla actually has exotic origins, and as spices go, only saffron is more costly. Despite the realities, calling something "vanilla" is not whistling in admiration. The Toyota Camry has been called "vanilla" countless times since its debut, but both the car and the bean have something up their sleeves.
Scoff all you want, but vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor, and there is no mainstream sedan that outsells the Camry. Apparently, vanilla has an underlying tinge of filthy lucre. We didn't feel rich, exactly, wheeling around in the Camry Hybrid, but we came away impressed, nonetheless.
Toyota hits 10 million Camry models sold in US
Tue, 02 Jul 2013This year marks 30 years of sales for the Toyota Camry in the US, and in that time, it has amassed more than 10 million sales. In its first year on the market, the Camry sold 52,651 units, but it has gone on to become the best-selling car in the US for the last 11 years.
Toyota says that "virtually all" current Camry models sold in the US are made here, and three-quarters of all Camry contents are domestically sourced.
