1984 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, United States
Very clean, LG station-wagon body style sport utility 4-door, 4-speed
manual transmission, 4x4, original, garage-kept, well-taken care of,
rust-free, color: desert beige, factory tint, tow hitch in front and
rear. Glossy paint (has been repainted), still has original Toyota radio, cassette player,
tow hook, seats and fabrics (no rips or tears), interior, manuals, jack, oem inspection lamp,
tool bag with tools, rear heater. Dash has no cracks or blemishes. Headliner is perfect with no rips. Original carpet, cargo area was protected with an overlay carpet and an additional rubber mat. Has a lift with large tires but comes with the
original chromed aluminum/alloy rims. The speedometer was not altered. I added a brake controller and
7-prong plug for towing. I have done all needed maintenance: replaced
A/C system evaporator core, dryer, expansion block, compressor (A/C is
ice cold), brake booster & master cylinder, oil pan gasket &
filter, transfer case seal, push rod cover gasket, new battery in '13, new oem antenna, oem gas gap, close to 4K in maintenance. If it needed the work I had it done, as this is my primary auto. FJ60 has a plastic reservoir bottle for the
rear window washer only which would need replacement if you want to use it. I
never have. A DIY job or $100 for a mechanic to complete. I have not
used the cruise control on this manual-transmission 4x4. It comes with
the manual, separate from the Toyota manual. Comfortable to drive, I have driven on the interstate down to S. Florida and up to NC with ease. Strong engine
starts, runs and tows great. I towed a 2400lb. trailer across three states without
a problem. Gets complements and attention, clear title. I have had one professional mechanic do all maintenance, is familiar with the vehicle, and have records of the work I had done. It is my primary driver and I use it nearly every day. This FJ60 is clean and nicely-maintained.

2014 Toyota Corolla shows just enough to keep us interested
Tue, 21 May 2013To date, the best idea we have of what the 2014 Toyota Corolla will look like is the shape and styling of the Furia Concept from this year's Detroit Auto Show. Obviously the compact car will turn down the wick a fair bit from that orange machine, and now we have one more scintilla of an idea of what the final product will look like.
Published today on Toyota's official Facebook page, the image above clearly shows the rear quarter of the 2014 Corolla S. Though the low angle is pretty wonky, we can make out that the shape of the taillight cluster is very similar to that of the Furia, albeit without the same LED treatment, A hint of a trunk-lid spoiler is also in evidence, and also follows the Furia's lead.
Toyota points out that the new Corolla will be shown in earnest on June 6. Expect to see the full version of the car by that date at the latest - online leaks have a tendancy to speed these things up.
What to do if the infotainment in your Lexus isn't working
Wed, Jun 8 2016According to Toyota, "errant data from our traffic and weather data service provider" caused the infotainment systems in 2014-2016 Lexus vehicles and the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser to go into some sort of endless reboot loop. The video above shows what that looks like, in case you're interested. Obviously, it's not good – the malfunction means the audio systems, navigation and climate control systems aren't working properly, and that the hands-free mobile phone function won't work. Apparently, some owners were able to manually fix their cars by disconnecting the battery cables for 10 minutes, which forces the car's computer systems to restart. But Toyota isn't officially suggesting that people take that action. Instead, "Toyota and Lexus owners experiencing these issues should visit their dealer for a complimentary system reset and a confirmation of the system," the automaker said in a statement. It's worth noting that issues with the usability of modern infotainment systems have caused customer satisfaction scores to drop. Lexus, though, has been mostly immune to such complaints, having come in first place in J.D. Power's most recent Vehicle Dependability study. Not that you should automatically trust those findings, anyway... Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Toyota must go to trial over unintended acceleration suits
Tue, 08 Oct 2013Toyota is surely readying its trial lawyers, as the Japanese giant is officially headed to court in a pair of cases relating to its unintended acceleration fiascos of 2009 and 2010.
In the first case, the United States Supreme Court has actually got involved in matters, ignoring an appeal from Toyota that attempted to use an arbitrator to settle its California lawsuits. The automaker will now go to trial to face owners of 2010 Prius models over an alleged defect with the anti-lock braking systems, which plaintiffs say made the cars more difficult to stop, according to Bloomberg.
The second trial is a bit more in depth, covering the case of Ida St. John, an 83-year-old from Georgia, that crashed her 2005 Camry in 2009. The accident is believed to have played a part in her death, although the suit, being filed by her grandson, doesn't actually place blame on Toyota for her death.
