1982 Toyota Landcruiser Fj40 on 2040-cars
Denver, North Carolina, United States
This is an extremely clean/rust free 1982 FJ40. I bought the truck about 14 years ago. The truck was in good shape except that the tub was rusted. About 8 years ago I did a frame off restoration and replaced the tub with an Aqualu aluminum tub - problem solved - forever. While I was at it I replaced the hood with a new Toyota hood and coated the already rust free frame with Por-15. The truck was repainted to the original Freeborn Red. The engine has 119K and runs perfectly and is all original. There is a slight oil leak (rear main) but all 2F seem to have this. The interior is all original and in great shape. I had the driver seat bottom professional reupholstered. The original front floor mat was trimmed on the Tran hump (stupid Prev owner) to accommodate a radio which has been removed. I replaced the previous owners non factory wheels with Chrome FJ60 wheels. The truck has 5 brand new Michelin 31''s I am selling the FJ40 because I just don't use it. This is a truck that you can drive right away. I always get great comments when I do drive it. Look at the pictures - it's in great shape. Are you the facelifted Toyota Yaris?
Fri, 28 Mar 2014As basic transportation goes, there's not a lot to complain about with the Toyota Yaris. The five-door hatch (not to mention its JDM cousin, the Vitz) are due for upgrades, though, having toddled along in its current form since the 2011 model year. Now, we have what looks to be leaked images of the new Yaris, straight from a Japanese brochure.
The next-gen Yaris was previewed in Frankfurt by the Yaris Hybrid-R Concept. Surprisingly, both the standard version and the RS (shown above) share a strong resemblance with the Frankfurt concept. That gaping lower intake remains, while a pointy, sharp front end shares a resemblance with the new Aygo city car (though the Yaris won't have a giant X on its face like its smaller cousin). The lower intake is flanked by a pair of what we're guessing are non-functional grilles, which house the fog lights. There are only a few small images of the rear of the car, which looks more like an evolution of the current five-door hatch.
The interior looks rather racy, with a small, thick-rimmed, leather-wrapped steering wheel and black cloth seats with red contrast stitching. There's a bright red button to the right of the steering wheel on this right-hand-drive JDM model, which could indicate the arrival of pushbutton start. Under hood of this Mazda-built Toyota should be a Mazda Skyactiv engine. That gives us hope that this latest Toyota compact will be imbued with some sense of driving fun.

2015 Toyota Camry
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Every car has its definitive year. Whether it be the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Mustang, or yes, even the ubiquitous Toyota Camry, 10.2 million of which have been sold since 1983, every car has its year. For the Camry, that year was 1992. With son-of-Lexus styling, a clear sense of purpose and a parent company that had hit its stride as the purveyor of faultlessly reliable family transportation devices, the Camry got its legs in 1992. It's a car that even your mom is likely to remember, even if she never owned one herself.
The Camry you see here represents the closest Toyota has come to emulating the magic formula that made the 1992 model the stuff of legends. Compared to the 2014 model, some 2000 of the car's 6,000 parts are new, most of them involving things you can see or touch (on the outside, for example, only the roof carries over from 2014).
It's not a full redesign, but nevertheless it's a stunning development considering the predecessor upon which it's based only survived two model years. That's a testament to both the hyper-competitive nature of the family sedan segment and the lukewarm critical response that the outgoing car garnered. But that's in the past now - after driving this 2015 model, we suspect the new car's changes will be thorough enough to continue pulling in new customers by the hundreds of thousands each year for the foreseeable future.
