I am selling a beast of a  cruiser that is fun to drive and gets plenty of attention. The BJ40 started life in Australia, then over to New Zealand and then legally imported to the USA. All import paperwork and fee's are completed and I have a Idaho title in my name.  I am in the middle of a 2 year restoration  on my 82 Fj40 and need more $$$ , so the BJ is for sale.

 Bj40 includes:

13B-T diesel turbo engine, replacing the stock 3B with a 13B-T is a desirable and costly upgrade. Engine is awesome and starts and runs great. A good engine for bio fuel use.

12 volt, not the costly 24 volt system common in Canada and other countries. All blinkers, wipers, horn ect.. working

4 speed transmission/transfer case work great and drivetrain is quiet. It also has a heavy duty full floating rear end not found in the US. imported fj40's.

EFS of Australia suspension system includes 4" spring  lift with grease zirk shackles. Ride quality is good and little more firm than my stock 82 FJ40.

33" tires are mud terrain type and have near new tread. They are aggressive tires and best suited for back roads.

Body and frame are in good condition, some typical rust issues are present in back seal, rear doors, bottom front door, top by windows and small areas in floor. I think it is cleaner than most on the road. Previous owner applied some rust converter to surface rust areas ,repair while you drive or go all out for the next couple years on a  body off restoration.  I personally planned on driving it as is, camping and wheeling without a care about scratches.

This cruiser is a capable off roader , very unique and gets a lot of attention. If you are hoping that it is a 25-50k rig for cheap it is not, but investing $$$ into body, paint and  interior work it would be money well spent and cruisers are climbing in value.  I have it listed for sale locally and on other classifieds, so I reserve the right to sell. Any questions call 801-550-6042.

Thanks

Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. Toyota issues stop sale on 6 key models over seat fabrics; recall possible? [UPDATE]

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

Toyota has issued a stop-sale order on six of its core models due to concerns about the flammability of certain seat fabrics. The issue rests not with the cloth and leather covers themselves, but with a piece of seat heater beneath them that fails to meet US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for flame retardancy.
There have been no reports of fires or injuries from the affected cars, which include some of Toyota's biggest volume sellers. 2013 and 2014 Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon and Sienna models equipped with heated seats are included in the stop-sale, as are 2014 Tundra pickups and Corolla sedans. The exact number of vehicles with the non-compliant materials are still being tabulated, according to The Detroit Free Press.
According to a Toyota spokesman, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, although it remains to be seen if a recall will be issued. Outside of a full recall, though, it's unclear how Toyota will deal with vehicles equipped with the flammable materials that have already found homes.

Toyota raises Japanese base wages for first time since 2008

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

Toyota is on track for record profits, and in return, its Japanese workers are receiving their first increase in base wages since 2008, plus higher pay based on seniority and a larger bonus for 2014. The Japanese automaker predicts the average laborer will net a 2.9 percent income gain.
The average Toyota employee will earn 2,700 yen ($26.28) more each month, a 0.8 percent increase from last year. Workers will also receive about 7,300 yen ($71.09) more monthly based on seniority and promotions. Finally, the company's union pushed through a median bonus of 2.44 million yen ($23,768) for 2014, the highest in 6 years.
The pay boost comes as Toyota forecasts a record 1.9-trillion yen ($18.5 billion) profit for the fiscal year ending on March 31, according to Bloomberg. It has been helped by the Japanese government's efforts to weaken the yen on international markets and expand inflation. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been asking businesses to increase compensation to end years of deflation and offset upcoming higher sales taxes. Honda and Nissan have also raised their wages there in recent months.
