Up for sale is my 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40.  I have put many hours and COUNTLESS dollars into restoring this ultimate driving machine.  I built this cruiser to keep but due to current financial issues I am forced to sell.  I will not sell this cruiser to anyone within a 75 miles radius of 42141 for the simple reason that I am attached and it will break my heart to see someone else driving this.  With that being said, here is the details of my cruiser.

1977 Toyota land cruiser that has been repainted the original factory color with 2F inline 6 cylinder engine.  Currently with 113,115 miles and counting.  It has a 3/4 aluminum Aqualu tub with matching aluminum front fenders.   Guaranteed to never rust.   It has a new Weber 38 carb on it.  I have rewired the FJ from top to bottom with all new wiring harness, blade fuses and weatherproof connections.  It has a new Optima red top battery and refurbished radiator.  New wires, plugs, cap, rotor and distributor.   The engine runs smooth with lots of power and life left.  These vehicles are easily 2-300,000 mile capable.  It's a Toyota!  The four wheel drive transfers smooth.  It has a 4 speed manual transmission. New exhaust.  Front brakes are disc for smooth stopping.  It has a new Rancho suspension lift with Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks.  New parking lights and turn signals.  New reupholstered seats in original factory style.  It has a brand new Bestop soft top with matching soft doors and Wilderness Systems custom roof rack.  You can run with the top down and still haul the kayaks to the lake.  I put rear half barn doors on the back to keep the old school look.  It has new 33x10.50x15 BF Goodrich AT tires with new chrome wheels.  All lights and gauges work flawlessly.  I am sure there is much more that I am leaving out but I can assure you, this cruiser is incredible! Clear title.   Feel free to call or email with any questions you may have.  I have lots of pictures available upon request.  Keep in mind this is not a JEEP, this is an investment that is only getting harder to find in this condition.  Thanks for looking.  Chad 406-788-5998 cell

Raising A White Flag To The Competition
We all benefit from highly competitive battles. In the automotive sector, few campaigns are so closely fought as the decades-long struggle for supremacy in the fullsize half-ton pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 has dominated for ages, but Chevrolet, Ram and GMC have been closing the gap with freshly redesigned trucks that are rocking the industry.
Today's half-ton trucks are better than they've ever been, and we have fierce competition to thank for that.

Recharge Wrap-up: First EV to attempt Dakar Rally, Mazda makes bioplastic parts

Zap and Jonway Auto brought their Urbee EV and their new Falcon A-380 SUV to the Peru Motor Show in Lima. Jonway sells its SUV and minivan in Lima through Dai-Ichi Motors, which displayed the cars at the show. According to the companies, their cars "received tremendous interest from the public," including private citizens as well as groups who would use the EVs for security guard service or campus use. Read more in the press release below. California is the US leader when it comes to EVs. In 2013, California had 70,000 battery electric and 104,000 plug-in hybrids. The state boasts almost half of the country's electric vehicles, thanks largely to state and local EV incentives that go beyond the federal tax rebate. California also leads the way in legislation, and nine other states have adopted California's ZEV mandate. Washington, Maryland, Georgia and DC also have their own EV incentives, while some utility companies also offer benefits for EV owners in other states. Still, EV sales have only made up about 0.7 percent of new vehicle sales in 2014. Read more at the US Energy Information Administration website. Toyota will be using landfill gas to help power its Kentucky manufacturing facility. Beginning in 2015, Toyota's Georgetown assembly plant will use electricity converted from landfill-sourced methane gas from Waste Services of the Bluegrass. It will provide enough energy to produce 10,000 vehicles each year. Plus it diverts methane - a greenhouse gas - from entering the atmosphere and helps improve the local air quality. Learn more in the video or Toyota's press release below. Mazda has developed a plant-derived bioplastic for making exterior and interior parts. The dyed plastic doesn't require painting, and it reduces petroleum consumption and carbon emissions in the manufacturing process. The bioplastic will be used for interior parts in the all-new MX-5 before being put into use on the exterior of future vehicles. Mazda will display prototype parts at the Eco-Products 2014 exhibit in Tokyo. Read more in the press release below. Acciona will enter the first-ever zero-emissions vehicle (pictured) to compete in the Dakar Rally. The vehicle uses an electric motor and lithium ion batteries, as well as solar panels to power telemetry and security systems. The Dakar Rally will take place from January 4 through 17 through Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. See Acciona's Dakar EV in the video and read more in the press release below.

130,000 Toyota Tundra pickups recalled over airbag issue

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Toyota is announcing a recall for about 130,000 examples of the 2014 Tundra Tundra pickup in Crew-Max Cab and Double Cab configurations.
According to the company, the "garnish on the center pillars" inside the trucks might not have been installed correctly. If the vehicle were in an accident, the side curtain airbags could deploy in the wrong shape. Toyota says that it's not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this potential problem.
To fix the issue, the pickups will have their interior center pillars inspected, and if faulty, the pieces will be replaced. Obviously, this will be done at no cost to owners. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
