I'm selling my 1976 FJ55 Toyota Land Cruiser. It's solid, clean, runs great, looks great and has been my daily driver for 3 years. A/C blows cold. Details below.

Back in 2007 the body was taken down to bare metal and brought back up. You can read the details and see pictures here:

In October 2011 it was taken to Iron Pig Off Road for the following work:

- -New oil pan and gasket

- -Weber carb

- -Dui Distributer

- -Disc parking break

- -Rear main seal

- -New rear drive shaft U joint

- -Rebuilt rear differential

- -Minitruck power steering

- -Vintage Air AC install

- -BFGoodrich 33x9.5x15 AT

- -Undercoated

- -Headlight upgrade

- -3-point seatbelts

- -Custom front seats

After that I installed a custom aluminum gas tank from Boyd Welding – the original had some rust issues. I then sent it to Urban Land Cruisers in Atlanta to continue with the project. They brought it to its current state and you can see pictures of their work here:

Here’s what they did:

- -new water pump

- -new fan clutch

- -new thermostat

- -new starter motor

- -Pulled engine, cleaned engine compartment, raptor coat, top coat

- -Cleaned engine, re-installed

- -OME suspension

- -Dual battery setup

- -Marine battery selector/isolator

- -Raptor coat interior

- -New aluminum interior door panels

- -Sound deadener spray in doors, cargo, and roof

- -New headliner

- -Custom sliders

- -New brake master cylinder

- -New gauge cluster

- -New header

- -Aluminum door panels, powder coated

- -Floor mats

- -New clutch

- -New rear seat upholstery

- -New exhaust

Life on the east coast has brought out some bubble rust as seen in the pictures below. There’s a couple pictures showing a few dings here and there and some of the paint on the bumpers has been nicked. It runs great – no issues whatsoever and is a ton of fun to drive. 7100 miles since resto-mod.

A few updates to to the listing:

- rear window works great

- CD player w/ AUX input inside Tuffy console, wired to alpine speakers

- only load on the blue top battery is the stereo - the batter selector allows you to run both batteries in parallel - comes in handy if you need to jump yourself

- the engine bay is solid - no rust issues, sprayed with raptor liner

- vin tags in engine bay and on door jam were removed during painting - they're stored in the center console

- the undercarriage is solid, only rust issue is surface rust where the sliders were welded 3 years ago

- electrical connections for the trailer lights are not connected to the plug, they are what is seen in the gas tank picture

Alright, so maybe "most elegant" is a bit of a stretch, but we feel safe in calling the 1992 Toyota Paseo in the video below an "automobile." High praise, we know. Still, it's clear someone loves the awkward little coupe enough to produce a hilarious video to sell the thing. Henry Floyd worked up a quick parody of the over-the-top luxury car ads we all know and loathe, and while the finished product is a little skimpy on details like price or location, it certainly doesn't hold back on the exposition.
Hell, if we didn't already have a parade of horrible ideas floating around our collective driveways, we might even be convinced to give this little heap a new home. You can check out the ad for yourself below, just don't be surprised if you find yourself with a burning desire to own a Paseo.

EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi

EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.

Toyota launches BMW-powered Verso in Europe

BMW makes some sweet-revving engines, but its own vehicles aren't the only ones running BMW engines. So do the latest from Rolls-Royce and Mini, of course, as well as a handful of Peugeots and Citroëns thanks to its joint engine program with PSA. Wiesmann uses BMW engines, as did the famous McLaren F1. And now we can add one more to the list.
That would be the Toyota Verso, a Corolla-based minivan which Toyota builds in Turkey and sells in Europe and a few other markets overseas. The Verso is also now officially the first beneficiary of the partnership between Toyota and BMW as the Japanese automaker has released the MPV with BMW's 1.6-liter turbodiesel four.
The 111-horsepower engine is coupled to a Toyota transmission and joins the Verso range as the fourth (and least powerful) engine in the lineup, alongside the 122hp 2.0 diesel and the gasoline options with 1.6 liters and 160 hp and 1.8 for 180. Future collaborations between the two automakers will include fuel-cell development, a new joint sportscar platform, lightweight bodywork research and a new generation of lithium-air batteries.
