1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

Last Summer I put a lot of money and time in this Cruiser, I had a Cruiser Specialty shop in Everett do most of the work. It runs great and is really fun to drive. I just don't use it as much as I hoped to.

When I brought the car in they replaced every gasket on the engine, replaced the hoses and belts and Spark Plugs. The carb was rebuilt and tuned up. New Motor mounts as well as a new exhaust from the engine to the tailpipe.
They removed the Fuel tank and cleaned it out. Replacing the fuel pump and filter with a newer more reliable electric Holley pump.  The Sender also got replaced and a new reliable gauge mounted on the dash.

I didnt want to leave any suspension piece not rebuilt. So I had them replace all of the bushings and tie rods. At the same time we replaced the Leaf Springs and Shocks with a lift kit. I had them install a FJ60 Power Steering box so it was easier to drive. The Front and Rear Differentials were also rebuilt.  New Axle Bearings and Seals,  Rebuilt breaks a 4 new tires.

The truck rides really nice and smooth. It Starts easy and the blue paint looks awesome.
I had the Front fenders repainted because they had a lot of rock chips over the years. At the same time I had a little rust repaired on the Hard top. Can't even tell it was there.

The original Seats were very uncomfortable, they installed modern and comfortable BMW Bucket seats up front. Then recovered the rear seats to match the leather.  I powder coated the frames also.   Up front we put in Shoulder harnesses.

As you can see I wanted to restore the running gear so it would be reliable and safe. I have 13k in receipts I can provide upon request. All of this was done in July of last year (2013). I only drove the car a few hundred miles afterwards. The car currently has 82,300 miles

I own the car outright with no liens or loans.  I also have the Title in Hand!
The car is in Seattle Wa,  If you are in the area and want to see it im available almost anytime.
I can Send you any detailed picture you want, just message me.

Most Cruisers on Ebay look good but don't have the detailed receipts for service / restoration.  A lot get neglected, You can feel confident that this car will get you where you want to go and back.

Autocar pits McLaren MP4-12C against turbo Toyota GT86

    Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The Toyota GT86, in all of its forms, is one of the best-handling cars money can buy, a trait that can put a smile on the faces of all but the most jaded car enthusiasts. But if good handling isn't what they're looking for, then what is? Our first guess would have to be more power, something the 200-horsepower Toyota would benefit from. Autocar tries out that theory by driving two turbocharged GT86s on track, then pitting the more powerful one against the 616-hp McLaren MP4-12C in a track battle.
The first GT86 turbo Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe drives makes around 255 rear-wheel horsepower and a bucket-load more torque than the stock car. That's plenty of power to either have a lot of fun or get into a lot of trouble. But the GT86 that Sutcliffe tails in the McLaren is race-prepped, stripped to the bone and wears slicks to harness a heavy-hitting 335 hp at the wheel. Weighing in at under 2,500 pounds, the Toyota can't overcome the MP4-12C's power-to-weight ratio of 5.3 pounds per horsepower, but it comes pretty close.
Enjoy a lot of chasing and drifting fun in the video below!

Nissan, Toyota offering payment deferments to people affected by government shutdown

    Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Two weeks into the budget-related government shutdown and it sounds like some progress is finally being made, but that doesn't really help furloughed government employees pay their bills. To help out a little, Nissan and Toyota are joining Hyundai with offering payment deferments to current owners and lessees.
In a release, a Nissan spokesperson said the company is "sympathetic to any of our customers who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances - many times outside of their control."
Both Japanese automakers are allowing payment extensions of up to 90 days without penalties or fees. Unlike the Hyundai Assurance Plan, though, it doesn't seem like the Nissan or Toyota assistance will be extended to those who are still in the buying process. Scroll down for press releases from both companies about their respective payment deferment programs.

Recharge Wrap-up: Honda FCV Concept comes to Detroit, Toyota seeks young green energy fellows

    Thu, Dec 18 2014

Honda will bring its FCV Concept to the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The hydrogen-powered concept made its Japanese debut in November, and will now make its way to North America for the first time. The FCV concept improves upon the design of the FCX Clarity with a more striking appearance and roomier interior. Its smaller powertrain packaging means more space for people, and the FCV Concept seats five passengers. Honda also expects the next-generation fuel-cell car, which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in March 2016, to cost less and have a range of over 300 miles. Read more in the press release below. The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive has been awarded an environmental certificate from the TUV Sud technical inspection authority. The certificate is based not just on the vehicle's operation, but the entire lifecycle of the car, including production and recycling. The B-Class Electric Drive produces 24 percent less CO2 over its lifecycle than the Mercedes-Benz B180 when using the EU electricity mix, and 64 percent less when powered by hydroelectricity. Mercedes credits not just the use of electricity, but also the car's energy management system - such as its radar-based regenerative braking - for its carbon reductions. Read more in the press release below. Scania will test a wirelessly charged plug-in hybrid bus in Sweden. Beginning in June 2016, the bus will be put to daily use in Sodertalje. One of its stops will have a wireless charging station where the bus will recharge for six to seven minutes before continuing on its route again. The charger is located under the road surface and the bus positions itself above it to charge inductively. About $1.3 million will come from the Swedish Energy Agency to fund the test project, which could save up to 90 percent of fuel costs. If expanded to a fleet of 2,000 buses, it could save up to 13 million gallons of fuel each year. Read more at Green Car Congress, and in the press release below. Sandia National Laboratories and Linde are teaming up to expand hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The two groups have signed an agreement to research and develop new hydrogen stations, as well as ways to make fuel cell vehicles more desirable for consumers. They are looking at ways to incorporate hydrogen into existing fuel stations where possible, and make sure that it is able to be done safely.
