1975 Toyota FJ40 *Small Block 400 chevy Tuned Port Injected* 700r4 automatic * Twin stick*

I have had this rig since 2002 and its been garaged kept and taken meticulous care of.   It has been a hard decision to put it for sale.

Early truck small block 400, .30 over, mild RV cam.  Built in 2003

700r4 4 speed automatic, low stall converter.  Built in 2012

Front axle.  4:10, Bobby Longfield Chromolly Birfields, Disc brakes.  Built in 2007

Rear axle.  4:10, welded 3rd member.  Built in 2007

Paint and body were done using PPG products.   2008

Rubberized liner sprayed in tub and rollcage by Smiths Ultimate linings.  2006

Upgraded gages and wiring harness this year.  All gauges work except speedo.  (cable is not hooked up and needs some kind of adapter to mate w the 700r4)

39.50 X 13.50 X16 Irok  90% tread

This is a very capable rig and has been to Moab a couple dozen times.  It can out crawl many of the $75k rigged Jeeps.  More than enough power and gear to pull a house down or climb a wall.  I have driven it daily and on weekends.  Some short trips out of town.  Its been a great rig to me.  Always turns heads and draws crowds.  Its been in many local shows and is always a favorite.  Paint is in great shape.  Has a couple of chips and small scratches.  NM vehicle its life.  Please call if you have any questions.

A few pre-race notes and a lot of photos from the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

The 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on.
Audi has won 12 of the last 15 events, the scion of Auto Union is trying to make it 13 this year. To do so, it will have to overcome a situation faced only three other times during its dominance of La Sarthe: underdog status. Toyota has won the first two races of the year and claimed pole for this race, the rumor being that this year it's Toyota's race to lose.
And then there's Porsche. It's been 16 years since the Stuttgart brand raced on the top rung at Le Mans, three years years since it announced its return, just a year since it acquired Mark Webber in a signing that wasn't subtle and a few months since we got eyes on the 919 Hybrid.

Toyota C-HR Concept is a high-riding hybrid hatch [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Despite having the tendency to offer decidedly bland production cars, Toyota occasionally surprises us with interesting concept cars. Such is the case with the C-HR concept making its debut at the Paris Motor Show this week. It's a concept showing forward-thinking design that hints at "a type of crossover vehicle Toyota would like to bring to market," according to the automaker's release, and it rides on an all-new platform and uses a hybrid powertrain.
About that powertrain: Toyota isn't revealing anything, just saying that it will - brace yourselves - "deliver significantly improved fuel efficiency" (over what, exactly?) The car also uses a brand-new architecture, though it hasn't really revealed any major details about that aspect, either.
It's a high-riding, muscular thing, with a rakish hatchback shape. Should it reach production, Toyota says it would take the shape of a C-segment crossover. It'd be cool to see something like this hit the road someday, but for now, we won't hold our breath.

Watch Congress sample Toyota's i-Road 3-wheeler concept

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Toyota brought its new i-Road, a three-wheeled, all-electric low-speed vehicle that debuted in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, to the Capitol for some of our elected officials to test out. As easy as it is to forget that politicians are people, too, it was refreshing to see a human side to many of them as they zipped about one of the Capitol's many meeting rooms.
We'd say their reactions were surprisingly positive. Of course, some were just down there because Toyota is a big presence in their respective districts, but the bulk of the senators and representatives seemed like they just wanted to zip about the makeshift indoor course on the leaning trike.
Take a look below at the video from Bloomberg.
