Runs and drives excellent, has been a daily driver, kept in garage when not driven. I have had most of it restored
over the last 5 years, however due to recent layoff I am forced to sell our fun truck. Starts on first turn of the
key, has many upgrades; power disc brakes, power steering, V8 powertrain conversion, and more below.

Includes original steel doors which are in excellent condition - were restored with all new rubber, they look new.
Also included are the original rear seats in good condition, a new bikini top, a rubber cargo area mat, and the
original steel hard top (which was not restored). Please see details below.

Powertrain: professional powertrain conversion done in the early 90’s. Chevy 350 engine with low miles, TH350 (GM)
Automatic Transmission - shifts smooth and was recently serviced, Mild shift kit, New Process (GM) 205 Transfer
Case. Edelbrock Manifold with Holley 4 bbl Warrior Carburetor. Truck runs excellent and sounds great. Unlike a
stock FJ40, this truck has power and motors easily over hills and mountains, runs great on freeway or on the
trails.

Brakes: Power brakes, front brakes were converted to disc brakes. Serviced a few years ago, pads/disc all in good
condition.

Suspension: 31 Yokohama tires are a couple years old, a lot of tread and life on them. Original rims. 2”
Ironman leaf springs in front, original leaf springs in back. Rides nice however before I was laid off I bought
the matching rear 2” Ironman leaf springs for rear, and can be included if new owner wants to have them
installed.

Body: Several years ago I had it repainted the original color Rustic Green. Shop did a decent job. Had all
rubber replaced. Also had some common rust spots fixed. Its not perfect, but looks great and gets compliments
everywhere we go.

Doors: Doors go on easily, slide over the hinges and then drop the hinge pin in. As the rest of the truck, the
doors were sanded down, prepped, repainted original color, and have new rubber.

Original Top: The top is included and in decent condition,
The ceiling on all FJ40’s is fiberglass,

Rear Seats: Also included are the original rear ambulance seats. They were not restored however in good
condition.

Interior: Original front seats in good condition, I keep covers on them. Instruments all work, has stock A/C and
compressor, however is not hooked up or working. Stock roll bar.

Fuel tank and fuel lines recently replaced. Setup for dual tanks however the rear tank was removed by previous
owner, front tank is new.

Stereo: Original Toyota radio is in the dash, and a custom stereo console was made for a more up to date deck with
blue tooth, USB, remote, etc.

Dutch Toyota dealer has plans for old Prius batteries as solar backup

Thu, May 1 2014

A Toyota dealer in the Netherlands is looking to the sky for power. The Louwman Hague Toyota dealership has put almost 1,000 solar panels on the roof, and there might be some Prius hybrid batteries involved. Our Dutch isn't as good as it could be and our questions to Toyota in the US haven't turned up any definitive answers, but there is some mention that these solar panels are will someday be feeding power into a bank of Toyota hybrid batteries. The 1,000 panels make up 1,600 square meters, about the size of 4.5 IMAX movie screens, and is the largest in the area. They generate around a quarter of a megawatt of energy [as our readers point out, this is what the translation says, but it doesn't make sense, so we think it might mean a quarter MW of power a day], which is enough to power 80 homes. The excess electricity will go into the battery packs that have (possibly) already been used in a Prius or another of the company's hybrid. There are many examples of automotive batteries being tested as stationary back-up power sources, and maybe this Dutch solution can be used as a guide when Toyota sets up its new US headquarters in sunny Texas.

Toyota Prius sets a different kind of Nurburgring lap record [w/video]

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Scroll down the leaderboards of Nürburgring lap times and you'll see mostly racing cars, supercars and sports cars. Delve deep enough and you'll eventually get to hatchbacks and sedans, albeit the most performance-focused of their kind. But a hybrid? Sure, the Porsche 918 Spyder posted the top time for a street-legal series production car, and it's technically a hybrid, but we're talking about another kind of hybrid here. We're talking about a Toyota Prius.
That's right: the Prius just set a lap record around the Nordschleife. But it wasn't for the lap time. In fact, miles per hour barely factored in (except for staying above the minimum 37-mph average speed mandated on the vaunted racing circuit). No, this was about miles per gallon.
Toyota took one of its Prius Plug-In hybrids to the Nürburgring, topped up the battery, put on a set of low-rolling-resistance tires and put automotive journalist Joe Clifford behind the wheel with a mandate to use as little fuel as possible. After one second shy of 21 minutes, the Prius completed its lap having used just five tablespoons of fuel.

Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.
