THIS RIG STARTS RUNS DRIVES AND STOPS.  I am currently driving and have put about 500 miles on it this summer.  Though stopping can be interesting.   4x4 works as it should.  That being said there are lots of little and big things need finish.  That amount depends on how far you want to take it.  Woods? Beater? Daily driver.
350 Chevy
Toyota 3spd
Power steering
2" or so lift
32" tires some dry rot 90% tread
Fj60 wheels
V8 battery tray
New AA CHROME HEADERS
Holley 570 street avenger

1972 FJ 40 with a 350 Chevy mated to the factory 3spd.  It starts right up and idles great.  You can rev it slowly and she revs fine but if you try to punch it.  It falls on its face.  Ethanol?  Carb tuning?
The tub was very rusty.  It was removed, all the rot was cut out.  Any structural rot that was removed was replaced (floors, rear sill, body supports).  Any cosmetic rust like the quarter panels was cut out, painted with POR 15 and covered with the diamond plate panels.  The entire tub was covered top and bottom with POR 15 then the top half was covered with roll on bed liner.  The frame and front axle was also painted.  It has two newer loaded front brake panels.  The brakes function, but not well.  They pull pretty bad to one side.  There is a brand new set of AA headers (1 on 1 not installed).   The cowl was tender also so the same thing was done, that was done to the tub.  Front fenders are there but that's pretty much there value.  They have been welded on and filled with bondo several times.  The bib is rust free and aprons are nice.  Windshield frame has not been removed but looks decent with minimal visible rust.  Specter off road seat covers( pass seat is good driver seat is decent.  Fuel tank is nice.  I am sure I am forgetting things.   I will add more details as I think of them.

No speedo cable
Temp gauge functions but does not read
Fuel gauge works
Oil pressure gauge functions but does not read
All the lights work as they should for inspection

JLR shares backstage 'No Time to Die' Range Rover Sport SVR carnage

Sat, Sep 18 2021

James Bond's latest adventures will take him to Norway and Scotland, as seen in the trailer for the upcoming "No Time to Die." Somewhere along the way, the British spy encounters a pair of Range Rover Sport SVRs, the ultimate high-performance SUV from JLR's Special Vehicle Operations division in one of the movie's centerpiece car chases. Now, the company has given us a behind-the-scenes look at its filming, and the automotive carnage that ensues. The filmmakers wanted to take a Bond action sequence off-road, and chose the Range Rover Sport SVR as the the bad guys' pursuit vehicle. Armed with a JLR product placement deal (Bond drives a new Defender in another part of the movie) the henchmen had no qualms picking one of the most expensive things on the menu. Unfortunately, that also makes is a bit hard to watch when machines that start at $115,000 are totaled as they careen through the air or roll onto their roofs. The SVRs share a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with the Jaguar F-Type SVR and are the most powerful vehicles in the Land Rover portfolio. With 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque on tap, translating to a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, they're the perfect weapon for chasing a super-spy down a dirt road. As for Bond himself, 007 makes his escape in a decades-old yellow Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Specifically, it's a 90-series, a smaller version built from 1996 to 2002 that was never sold in the U.S. but remains popular in other parts of the world. The most powerful engine had just 190 horsepower from a 3.4 liter V6 shared with the similar-era 4Runner. Despite the power discrepancy, Bond manages to dispatch the Range Rovers in spectacular fashion. Wait, this is a Range Rover promo, right? "All the stunts are for real, there's nothing that's CGI'ed," said Neil Layton, the film's action vehicle coordinator. "So to make the cars more dramatic on the screen, we had to turn off a lot of safety feature aids that's on there." Interestingly, another non-JLR product shows up in the video as well. The camera car is a blacked out (to minimize reflection in other cars) Ford F-150 Raptor outfitted with a massive rooftop boom. "No Time to Die" is hits the screens on October 8. Toyota sees Camry share loss despite predicting increasing sales

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

Toyota may be set to lose share the midsize sedan market. While speaking with Automotive News, Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz said that if his company kept pace with the current swell in the market for family four doors, Toyota would need to sell around 500,000 Camry models. "I'm not sure we can do much more than 400 [thousand] today," Lentz said.
But that doesn't mean Camry sales are shrinking - on the contrary, Lentz thinks Toyota will likely sell more Camry units in 2013 than it did in 2012, it's just that the company isn't keeping pace with segment's current explosion in popularity. Industry wide, midsized sedan sales have increased by 20 percent. "Are we going to lose [Camry] share? Probably so," Lentz said, "but we will continue to grow in raw volume."
Toyota sold 404,886 Camry units last year, and the company just revised its 2013 sales objective from 2.18 million units earlier this year to 2.2-million plus units, so while things are looking up for the brand and Camry sales may be on the rise, Toyota may not have the muscle to keep up its share in the sedan segment. Whether that's because of a production bottleneck or a predicted sales ceiling isn't clear. We've got a call in and will update this news item if/when we learn more.

Unifor may establish local union for Toyota's Canadian plants

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Union tactics apparently translate across borders, as Canada's Unifor may take inspiration from the United Auto Workers' recent move at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, and establish a local for the Toyota factories in Cambridge and Woodstock.
Unifor last attempted to organize the workers at the two factories, which are responsible for production of the Toyota Corolla (above), RAV4 and Lexus RX back in April, but that vote was eventually delayed. According to that report, 3,000 of the two plants' 7,500 employees signed union cards, but that apparently wasn't enough for Unifor to force a vote.
Because of this, the union is looking at the local approach, like what the UAW is attempting with VW.
