1968 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 4wd California "blue Plate" Nice! Restomod 4x4 on 2040-cars
Flowood, Mississippi, United States
1968 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 California "Blue Plate". Per the previous owner this vehicle has been rebuilt from the frame up. This was done with a nod to originality as well as a nod to modernization. Installed was a 2008 Chevrolet 5.3 Liter Fuel Injected Vortec Engine and a Chevrolet Bad Boy 4L60E Transmission with a reported 8000 miles on both at time of install.
I have a complete three page description and also a very comprehensive 3" binder with all receipts, calculations, paperwork, manuals and vintage California Blue Plates. Odometer does not work - reported 13,000 +/- miles ( at time of restoration motor and transmission were reported to have 8000 +/- miles and it is estimated that about 5000 +/- mile have been put on the vehicle since restoration) Please email me for a link to many more additional photos as well as the 3 page breakdown. We are a car dealer who is listing this vehicle for the private owner. This FJ40 can be seen at 2315 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 - Next door to Primos Restaurant. Please call 601-397-6970 for any additional information (phone is land line no text) |

This '59 Cadillac is now on display at Toyota's museum in Japan
Tue, Dec 20 2016The Toyota Automobile Museum is different from a lot of other automaker collections in one very interesting way: It doesn't focus solely on Toyota's own automobiles. While the home team is certainly well represented, the love is spread to plenty of non-Toyota brands and vehicles that are significant to automotive history. And that permanent collection now includes the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible you see here. Yes, the '59 Caddy has the biggest tail fins ever, which makes it measurably significant. You still wouldn't expect to see it in a museum in Japan, though. After updates to the facility and its exhibits finish early next year, the 67-vehicle collection will also include such greats as a Renault 5 (known here as the Le Car), a '64 Ford Mustang, an Audi Quattro, a first-gen Honda Insight, and a Lotus Elite. Someone over there has good taste. You can visit the Toyota Automobile Museum the next time you're in Nagakute City, which is right outside Nagoya. We're booking our tickets now. BMW-Toyota sports car heading towards Tokyo debut
Mon, 20 May 2013Earlier this year, BMW and Toyota confirmed a four-part joint venture mostly focusing on increasing improving vehicle efficiency using fuel cells, lightweight materials and better battery technology. Also tucked into the announcement was a "feasibility study" for a shared platform to underpin a future midsize "sports vehicle."
In terms of the latter, it seems that things have stepped up from the feasibility stage to the conceptual stage, as Motor Trend reports we could see a pair of new sports car concepts debut later this year in at the Tokyo Motor Show. There isn't much information about the new program, but the article suggests the sports cars could be all-wheel drive hybrids, with electric motors powering the front wheels and a gas engine powering the rear wheels. While a partnership between Toyota and BMW might not lend itself to a catchy portmanteau like "Toyobaru," here's hoping it will bear fruit that is as exciting as the ones produced by the Toyota/Subaru tie up.
Toyota Tacoma helps stand up to your girlfriend, mimes, magicians and the Grim Reaper
Mon, 26 Aug 2013It takes a lot to get a product noticed in today's fast-paced world, but one avenue that's always seemed to grab the eyeballs of consumers has been humor. Toyota knows this rule well, and has put together a quartet of spots called "Tacoma Wins," in which the midsize pickup's features and specifications best a number of seemingly worthy competitors.
Whether it be sobbing girlfriends, a circus magician, a grim reaper or the scariest thing of all, a mime, the Tacoma looks well equipped to deal with it. Take a look below for all four of Toyota's newest spots.
