I am selling this for my co-worker. He is buying himself a boat and needs some room in the garage for his new toy. I can say this, I know he doesn't want to sell this. He looked for one for quite some time, and his buddy fell into one and he sold it to him a few years back. Since then he has done some work on the truck. Here is a list of everything he did to it while he had it.

  • All new lights ( marker, signal, headlamps, tail lights, license plate light)
  • Hell For Stout suspension extreme 4-inch with greaseable pins
  • Hell For Stout shocks and steering stabilizer
  • Replaced all Fasteners with Stainless Steel Allen head
  • Chrome Door Hinges
  • Billet Hood Hinges
  • New rubber pads for hood
  • 2010 17-inch TRD wheels
  • 33-inch Goodyear MTR tires
  • New Bumperette's
  • New Tow Package
  • Polished OEM front bumper
  • New side view mirrors
  • New Stainless Hood Closures
  • New Stainless windshield hooks and rubber pads
  • Rewired and resolved all electrical issues ( all works )
  • New OEM badges
  • Matching spare tire and wheel
  • New Tow hooks
  • Billet Alum Hood Ornament
  • Custom built spare tire carrier to accommodate larger tire and wheel

  • The numbers are all matching, and the miles really are only 54k. This is a very original car with the exception of the list above. It drives great, looks great, and is a blast to take for a ride. Call for any questions or for more photos. Thanks.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007

    Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.

Toyota, Kaley Cuoco grant wishes in Super Bowl XLVII ad

    Mon, 28 Jan 2013

For viewers who plan on watching the Super Bowl only for the commercials, here's one for you to enjoy ahead of time. As we saw in the teaser video that Toyota released last week, will be making the transition from Big Bang to The Big Game as a wish-granting genie in a commercial for the 2013 Toyota RAV4.
Though not as entertaining as the actual teaser for this commercial, it still garnered a couple chuckles from the Autoblog crew. We won't spoil it for you, but a word of advice: if Cuoco ever shows up in your driveway granting you wishes, we'd suggest you be very clear what you want... and enunciate.
If you want to see the commercial before this Sunday's game, we have the video (and an accompanying press release) posted after the jump.

An early gas-electric hybrid was developed by...Exxon?

    Tue, Oct 25 2016

We're not sure which aspect of Exxon's 1970s-era efforts to develop advanced and electrified powertrains is the most ironic. There's Exxon, that of the Valdez oil spill infamy, being on the leading edge of hybrids and electric vehicles. There's a boat-like Chrysler Cordova getting 27 miles per gallon. And there's the central role a Volkswagen diesel engine plays in that hybrid development. It's all outlined in an article (linked above) by Inside Climate News, and it's an amusing read. Flush with cash and fearing what it thought was peak oil production in the 1970s, Exxon funded a host of new ventures divisions geared to find alternatives to gas-powered powertrains. In the early 1970s, Exxon lured chemist M. Stanley Whittingham to develop what would become a prototype of a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Then, in the late 1970s, Exxon pioneered the concept of using an alternating-current (AC) motor as part of a gas-electric hybrid vehicle. The company retrofitted a Chrysler Cordova (yes, that's the model Ricardo Montalban used to hawk) with a powertrain that combined 10 Sears Die-Hard car batteries, an alternating current synthesizer (ACS), a 100-horsepower AC motor, and, yes, a four-cylinder 50-horsepower Volkswagen diesel engine. The result was a rather large two-door sedan that got an impressive 27 mpg. And while US automakers didn't see the potential in the early concept, in 1980 Exxon and Toyota began collaborating on a project that would involve retrofitting a Toyota Cressida with a hybrid engine. That car was completed in 1981, and may have been one of the seeds that eventually helped sprout the concept of the Toyota Prius. Soon after rebuilding the Cressida, Exxon would get out of the advanced-powertrain-development business, as oil prices began to fall in the early 1980s, spurring cost-cutting measures. Cry no tears for the Exxon, though, as what's now known as ExxonMobil is the largest US oil company.
