1967 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 - Gasoline Engine, Affordable Great Daily Driver! on 2040-cars
Kissimmee, Florida, United States
Description: You are looking at a modified 1967 FJ40 that has been setup as the ultimate beach cruiser. It is yellow and has been lifted with 35s and has a snorkel installed. This FJ40 comes with front bucket seats and the larger rear two (2) person jump seats for a total passenger capacity of seven (6) people. This FJ40 comes with new tires and modern rims. Installed on each bumper are the oem bumper rubber knobs and rear Toyota mud flaps. It comes with full size rear mounted spare tire with matching modern rim. This FJ40 has some surface rust which is shown on some of the pictures but no cancer. This has been reflected in the offering price. The underbody is in excellent shape and the suspension it stable and true at any cruising speed. This FJ40 is originally from Costa Rica and was restored in Costa Rica where FJ/HJ45s and FJ/BJ40s are common and plentiful, although not in this excellent condition. It currently sits at our shop in Costa Rica and will be headed to Miami, via shipping container, shortly after the end of the auction to be completely processed and imported pursuant to EPA and DOT regulations (exempt due to 25+ years old). The FJ40 will be registered in Florida and the winning bidder will receive a clean Florida title when the transaction is completed. I travel on an average of once a month to Costa Rica to scout for restoration candidates and have them either restored to original condition (20 footers), or have the 40s/45s restored (frame-off) to better than original condition and in showroom quality when the right candidate is found (perfect at any distance). This FJ40 is a "20 footer" and is not perfect but is in great shape and a real head turner and for the price, it is an excellent value for someone wanting an entry level price with high quality upgrades! Bid with confidence! We have 100% feedback and you will not be disappointed. This FJ40 represents and excellent investment and value at the offering price given its condition and installed upgrades! Since eBay will only let me place a maximum of 24 pictures on the listing, I have included a link below to our Flickr account where you can see even more high-resolution pictures of this FJ40. I have other FJ/BJ/HJ 40/45 trucks for sale that you can also see, which are in very nice, original, and/or frame-off restoration quality. I also have an impeccable FJ40 that has also undergone a complete frame-off restoration with every bolt and component removed, and that one is priced in the high 40s and worth every penny and is by far the nicest FJ40 anywhere and also in true collector's museum quality condition. http://www.flickr.com/vintagecruisers/sets Just one look at the high resolution pictures of this FJ40 and you will see what a great value it is! If this one, or any of the other ones I currently have for sale are not to your liking, I can have one custom made for you to any level of quality and budget you desire. Toyota promises Hybrid-R concept for Frankfurt
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Toyota will be bringing a new concept car to the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Dubbed Hybrid-R, Toyota says the concept will feature the same Toyota Hybrid System-Racing tech found in the automaker's latest endurance car, the TS030 Hybrid.
That car took second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a gas-powered, 3.4-liter, naturally aspirated V8 and a capacitor-based hybrid system. The result was 530 ponies from the engine and an extra 300 horsepower from the electric motor and batteries.
Toyota's press release came with but one image, a new Hybrid badge which is a far cry from the Hybrid Synergy Drive label found on the automaker's other offerings. There's really not much else to go on yet, but the news that Toyota is already adapting its racing tech for a concept bodes well for the future of exciting, hybridized offerings from the automaker. We'll be at Frankfurt live, and will be sure to bring you all the news on this new concept as it becomes available.
All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)
Thu, Sep 30 2021Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.  No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?
Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota battery breakthrough, PSA's millionth BlueHDi diesel
Fri, May 6 2016Scientists at Toyota have developed battery technology that allows for higher energy density. Using material from hydrogen storage, researchers at the Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRINA) in beautiful Ann Arbor, Michigan have created an electrolyte that works well with a magnesium metal anode. Besides improving energy density for smaller, more powerful batteries, magnesium is also more stable than lithium, making it a safer alternative. Rather than guarding their secret, Toyota is sharing details of this breakthrough in order to advance the technology in hopes of an earlier mass deployment of magnesium batteries. See the video above, and read more in the press release below. Farmdrop – a sort of online farmer's market in the UK – is looking for help naming its electric delivery "vanimals." The Nissan e-NV200 vans are painted and decorated to look like cows, pigs, and chickens. While three of the vans have already been named, fans can suggest their own clever ideas for the rest of the fleet on social media. Those whose names are selected will win a month's worth of shopping on Farmdrop. Cary McCarface, anyone? Read more at the company's website. PSA has built its millionth Euro 6 BlueHDi diesel engine. The automaker builds two diesel engines – a 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter – at its plant in Tremery, France at a rate of 7,000 engines a day. BlueHDi technology uses three different emissions control mechanisms to filter pollutants out of diesel exhaust, including an oxygen catalyst, an additive filter to remove particulate matter, and a Selective Catalytic Reduction system to reduce NOx. BlueHDi is used in all new Peugeot, Citroen, and DS Euro 6 diesel vehicles. Read more at Green Car Congress. Charging Ahead Toyota Scientists Make Breakthrough on Safer, Smarter Batteries May 04, 2016 ANN ARBOR, Mich. (May 4, 2016) -- For anyone (i.e. everyone) who's ever panicked when their mobile device chirped, "low battery," the future could be far less stressful, thanks to the advanced battery research of scientists at the Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRINA). A new breakthrough involving magnesium batteries may soon open the doors for smaller, longer-lasting batteries for everything from cars to cell phones. What's the Big Deal with Magnesium? Magnesium metal has long been theorized as a much safer and more energy-dense alternative to current lithium battery technology.
