1967 FJ40. Originally from southern Nevada. No rust or rot. Street legal rock crawler. I bought this jeep 7 years ago. I wanted a capable trail machine that I could drive to and from 4x4 events and explore offbeaten pathways. Most of the time I never had to use 4WD. My interest now are consumed by my son's racing. The time has come to let it go. It needs new seat covers and the speedometer doesn't work. Now for the good stuff.
Built small block chevy. TPI fuel injection. Vortec heads with mild hydraulic cam and roller rockers.030.KB pistons. Forged rotating assembly. HEI ignition.Headers into a single exhaust. Moroso deep oil pan. Dual optima batteries with marine cutoff switch.GM sm420 transmission. Atlas 2 twin stick transfer case. Custom driveshafts. Ford 9" rearend. Detroit lockers front and rear with 4.56 gears. Strange axels in rear, stock upfront. Warn hubs. Strange modular 3rd members front and rear. AGR Steering box/pump with RockRam kit. Aluminum radiator. 4wheels disc brakes with parking brake. Champion beadlock wheels with TSL 38" tires and spare. Warn winch.Custom rollbar and bumpers. Beard seats. Flaming river steering column and more.
This FJ40 is not a show jeep but a solid, durable off (and on) road vehicle. It has bumps, scrapes, dings, faded paint, etc. that only time and purpose can create. Character. Call or email any questions. Steve 512-263-1792 Thanks for looking.

Toyota ready to design more heart-racing Prius
Sat, Jan 25 2014Long praised for its fuel economy and reliability, the Toyota Prius has been no stranger to less-than-flattering remarks about its styling and sense of excitement. In fact, the model is a regular movie punchline. For evidence, see Mark Wahlberg in The Other Guys or, more recently, Ice Cube in Ride Along. Apparently, Toyota President Akido Toyoda is getting the message and is pushing for what's been translated as a more "heart-racing" design for both the Prius and the Camry, the Canadian website Driving says. The Camry and Prius accounted for about a third of Toyota's US sales last year. With the Camry as the best-selling US model for each of the last dozen years, Toyota US head designer Kevin Hunter noted at the Detroit Auto Show last week that the Japanese automaker is looking for a "more emotional" design for the boxy sedan. The Prius redesign may have more constraints, as aerodynamics have to be factored in to ensure top-line fuel economy for the world's best-selling hybrid. Toyota used the Detroit show to show off the FT-1, a concept that many consider a preview of the new Supra. How this "Future Toyota 1" will affect the Prius and Camry redesigns, whenever they appear, remains in question but we like where things are headed.
Subaru to stop building Camry for Toyota in the US
Fri, 09 May 2014It was back in 2007 that Subaru of Indiana Automotive, under contract from Subaru minority shareholder Toyota, built the first Toyota Camry at its plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Rumblings of the end of that contract work have been around for a while, as Subaru talked of expanding capacity to build more units and add a line for the Impreza, and Toyota talked of moving Camry production to its Georgetown, KY plant. The news was official internally last November when SIA Executive Vice President Tom Easterday told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Camry production would end. Now, Automotive News reports that both automakers have admitted publicly that the end will come in 2016.
SIA currently has a 170,000-unit capacity devoted to the home-brand Legacy and Outback models, while a $400-million expansion increases that to 300,000 units to prepare the facility for Impreza production in two years. Freeing up the 100,000 units of production devoted to the Camry means a 400,000-unit capability, which is far more than Subaru needs at the moment, but the Toyota exit will allow it to expand any way it sees fit. Subaru has said it will absorb the workers on the Camry line and no jobs will be lost, the mayor of Lafayette saying the development could change the timetable for the expansion.
Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]
Mon, 29 Oct 2012It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.
