Up for sale is well maintained and well treated 2007 Toyota Highlander Fuel Efficient 4Cylinder. Based on the Legendary Toyota Camry platform, this vehicle has been near the top of the performance charts for mid-sized SUV's since it's inception according to Consumer Reports(see photos), it still has the highest possible overall rating 6 years later.

Before I describe the vehicle, I would like to give you a bit of a history about the vehicle. It was LEASED new by a personal driver in Boca Raton, FL where it resided until September 2011 when it was repossessed and purchased at auction by a dealer. In February 2012, I purchased it from that dealer in Clearwater, FL and drove it to Mount Sinai NY where we resided until January 2013. Note... the winter of 2012/2013 had near record high temps and record low snow fall with less than a 1/2" accumulation. There  was no salt or sand on roads for the entire season so this vehicle has seen all sunny days(besides rain of coarse) and sand/salt free roads(result- 99.9% RUST FREE!!!). As a military family, I registered the vehicle in Virginia where we were stationed before NY as this was more cost effective and easier way to go hence the history report showing VA registration and not NY. We moved here to Florida upon leaving NY and the vehicle has been here since. While we have owned it, we have made four trips between NY, VA and FL and this is why we have managed to accumulate 27,000 miles in a year and a half as well as it being the commuter car for my wife's 90 mile commute in NY while we were there.

We purchased this vehicle after extensive research to find the SUV(just not minivan people) that had the absolute most bang for buck on the market as well as
one that we believed would outlast all others. It has the largest cubic foot capacity, highest towing capacity, and longest miles per tank(up to 540) capacity with the highest MPG(city:19+/highway:25+; EPA estimates as stated above are 22/28) estimation of the three highest rated(Consumer Reports) SUV's in it's class and approximate year range. Hear are three links(to copy and paste) to vehicle spec sheets for those vehicles.

In our travels, I have managed to get almost 28+MPG as I don't have a lead foot as well as I use very high grade friction-reducing oil additive called prolong and top performance synthetic motor oil(see photos) which is recommended. I keep the fluids changed every 3,000 miles and make sure the interior and exterior are maintained with upholstery cleaning(CARPET AND SEATS ARE VERY NICE, DRIVER FLOOR MAT HAS NORMAL WEAR) and waxing regularly. Tires were purchased new when we purchased the vehicle, there is good life left in them but couldn't tell you how many miles that might be. There are no modifications added to the vehicle so all parts work as they should, like previously stated, this car runs like new, no leaks, squeaks or noises. There are chrome after market wheel covers on the rims(still have the original lug/hub covers) and license plate covers as well. Upon purchasing this vehicle from the dealer, we did not receive an owners manual with it so I uploaded one from the web that I keep on my computer should any one like that info upon winning the auction. We are selling the vehicle because we just purchased another family vehicle(ok my dream man truck) so this one is extra now, plane and simple. There are no broken or malfunctioning features on the vehicle at this time, everything works.

I have uploaded the maximum allowable number of pictures to the posting so if you would like to request specific pics to be emailed to you, feel free to request them. I also encourage anyone to hire a company to do an inspection of the vehicle if you are inquiring from long distance and any winning bid that is placed from long distance will be held responsible for full payment if inspection is not contracted. In addition, if winning bidder is long distance and needs assistance transporting, I am willing to help locate a transport company if they wish and it would help that individual but am not responsible for the referral or any subsequent events involving the vehicle once the vehicle leaves my care(the transport company physically begins the transport of the vehicle). Winning bidder responsible for ALL shipping or transport costs.

I have posted the vehicle to begin at our LOWEST ACCEPTABLE PRICE with NO reserve to make sure all bidders can bid with confidence and with no uncertainties regarding price. I am very confident the vehicle is priced well and am not in a hurry to sell it so WILL BE seeing the auction through IF the auction is not terminated by me(seller reserves the right to cancel auction at their discretion for any reason), a bidder chooses the "BUY OUT" price option or the auction expires. The auction will only be terminated outside of "BUY OUT" if I receive FULL acceptable payment outside of the auction. If in the event that the winning bidder finds that the vehicle is NOT as I have described, I WILL refund the full deposit and hold no responsibility over the bidder for any payment on the vehicle.

IN ADDITION TO THE AUTOCHECK THAT IS PROVIDED... I HAVE A COPY OF THE CARFAX AS WELL.

Should  you have any questions regarding this listing, please don't hesitate to message me through EBAY as I have alerts and notifications setup on my phone for fast response. If you prefer phone communication, I can be reached at 631-897-2412. My name is Ben and look forward to doing business with you.
AGAIN... THIS IS A VERY CLEAN, RELIABLE AND NICE VEHICLE... BID WITH CONFIDENCE, GOOD LUCK & BLESSINGS TO YOU!!!

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.

Toyota GT86 gets TRD treatment in UK

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

As dearly as we love the Toyota GT86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ franchise, we readily admit we wouldn't look sideways at a model with a bit more firepower. And while that's not quite on the table yet, Toyota has been busy amping up the visual firepower of its rear-drive coupe with a whole host of TRD parts. To this point, that's been a largely à la carte affair, but the automaker's UK outpost has just announced a special-edition model that allows our British friends to pick up the whole shooting match all in one go.
The Toyota GT86 TRD will only be available in black and white, and just 250 examples are to be built. As you can see from the excellent gallery above, the catalog of look-faster bits include a more aggressive front air dam, side skirts, rear bumper fascia, spoiler and unique 18-inch forged alloys. Additional flourishes include a TRD shift lever and branded radiator cap. The sole concession to actual performance? A "fast-response quad exhaust" that might only improve things audibly - 0-62 mph is apparently unchanged at 7.7 seconds, and the top end is still 140 mph for the manual transmission model. (The auto gets by with 8.4 seconds and 130 mph).
Pricing? Glad you asked. £31,495 for GT 86 TRD manual, £32,995 for the automatic - that's nearly $50,000 US for the tripedalist and just over for the automatic. (Those are heady prices, but bear in mind that UK MSRPs and taxes are generally significantly higher than their US counterparts). If the standard GT86 is more your speed, it still rings up at a more affordable £24,995 - roughly $39,500 - leaving plenty of budget for actual performance parts. No word yet on North American availability of a special TRD model, but we've got a call in...

Car technology I'm thankful and unthankful for

Mon, Nov 27 2017

The past few years have seen a surge of tech features in new vehicles — everything from cloud-based content to semi-autonomous driving. While some of it makes the driving experience better, not all tech is useful or well thought out. Automakers who are adept at drivetrains, ride quality and in-cabin comforts often fail at infotainment interfaces and connectivity. From testing dozens of vehicles each year and in the spirit of gratitude, here are three car tech features I'm thankful — and a trio I could live without. Thanks Connected search: This seems like a no-brainer since everyone already has it on their smartphones, but not all automakers include it in the dashboard and as part of their nav systems. The best ones, such as Toyota Entune, leverage a driver's connected device to search for a range of services and don't charge a subscription or require a separate data plan for the car. I also like how systems like Chrysler Uconnect use Yelp or other apps to find everything from coffee to gas stations and allow searching via voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: It took two of the largest tech companies to get in-dash infotainment right. While they have their disadvantages (you're forced to use Apple Maps with CarPlay, for example), the two smartphone-integration platforms make it easier and safer to use their respective native apps for phoning, messaging, music and more behind the wheel by transferring a familiar UI to the dashboard — with no subscription required. Heated seats and steering wheels: I really appreciate these simple but pleasant features come wintertime. It's easy to get spoiled by bun-warmers on frosty mornings and using a heated steering wheel to warm the cold hands. I recently tested a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe that also had heated armrest that added to a cozy luxury experience. Bonus points for brands like Buick that allow setting seat heaters to turn on when the engine is remotely started. No thanks Automaker infotainment systems: Automakers have probably poured millions into creating their own infotainment systems, with the result largely being frustration on the part of most car owners. And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming along to make them obsolete. While some automaker systems, such as Toyota Entune and FCA's Uconnect, are easy and intuitive to use, it seems that high-end systems (I'm looking at you BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND) are the most difficult.
