KBB for this truck is $23k-$25k+. Asking $22,900 obo, the low end of KBB, and it has approximately $5k in accessories: ARB front bumper, All-pro rear bumper, ARB/OME 3" lift kit, full Baja rack with dual gas can holder and Fourtreks tool and high lift jack mount (Smittybilt jack included), OEM rock sliders, Bushwacker fender flares, extended vents up in to the rear quarter (rear diff, e-locker, transmission, transfer case) or under the hood (starter, front diff), 5 new OEM steel wheels w/new Goodyear tires (approx. 6k miles), and factory service manuals. Synthetic Mobil 1 every 5k miles and recently changed rear diff fluid to synthetic redline when I did the vent extension. Engine has a fresh oil change and OEM filter; it is ready to drive anywhere! New 6 year HD battery. Also greased all drive line joints. Disabled key in ignition and seat belt beeper. This is a smoking deal for someone who is looking to build something similar: all accessories are FREE and included in the asking price.

This is a Toyota and it only has 30k miles on it: best deal on ebay for such low miles! As should be expected, nothing is wrong with it, it works perfectly, and it needs nothing; drives like a brand new truck. Manual 6-speed transmission. A-trac (front pseudo non-binding locker via brakes), torsion diff, and rear e-locker = unstoppable off-road. A few rock chips and scratches in the interior and exterior from camping and general use. For the most part, nothing out of the ordinary except the one deep scratch where the 4WD sticker is now located on the rear hatch. There is a crack in the windshield, lower left corner, so I will have a new windshield put in for the buyer. This is not a mall cruiser; it was built to be used as intended, and still looks great! Rear seats are currently out and a truck mat in its place for camping gear, but the seats are included and in perfect condition. Truck has zero rust and I am the second owner.

Please note, there was a typo title discrepancy I hadn't noticed until posting this ad on ebay (see vehicle history report): purchased at 23,625 miles from the original owner, NOT 236,250. This has already been corrected thru the DMV as of the day this ad was posted. I would be happy to send a picture of the DMV receipt to an interested buyer proving there is no longer an odo discrepancy on the title, and I also added a pic of the odo on the ad. There is absolutely no lien on the title as ebay suggests, I own it outright. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking,

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 3

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

The third practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is done. While the other classes got running time on the middle and top sections of the course, qualifying times were set on the bottom section of the course for the Open, Open Wheel, Electric, Exhibition and Vintage classes.
Everyone managed to keep it on the black stuff today, Greg Tracy setting the fastest time ahead of Hiroshi Masuoka, both men driving the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II four-wheel-drive prototype. Not even half a second behind Masuoka came Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Monster Sport E-Runner, who has taken about 18 seconds off his time since the first practice day. Rod Millen was the fourth fastest on the day in his Toyota TMG EV POO2.
Topping the Open Wheel class was Clint Vahsholtz, followed by Donner Billingsley, Andy Figueroa and Rodney O'Maley. The only driver in that class not to be given a time today was Dan Novembre. Kenshiro Gushi took the Exhibition class today as his Lexus IS F CCS-R made it up the mountain in 4:27.248, followed by Sage Marie in the Honda CR-Z at 5:19.591. Simon Pagenaud and his Honda Odyssey weren't classified.

2.1 million vehicles recalled again over faulty airbags

Sat, Jan 31 2015

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Honda and Toyota will recall 2.1 million vehicles to fix faulty airbag modules "after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles." These vehicles had all previously been recalled, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the airbags could still potentially malfunction. This recall will cover Acura MDX, Dodge Viper, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Honda Odyssey, Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix and Toyota Avalon models made in the early 2000s. NHTSA has reportedly received about 40 reports of airbag deployment in such vehicles, even though the vehicle had not been involved in a crash. Roughly one million of these same vehicles, all from Honda and Toyota, are also subject to recalls due to faulty Takata airbag modules, though this particular recall is for "an electronic component manufactured by TRW" that is separate from the actual airbags from Takata. According to NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind: "This is unfortunately a complicated issue for consumers, who may have to return to their dealer more than once. But this is an urgent safety issue, and all consumers with vehicles covered by the previous recalls should have that remedy installed. Even though it's a temporary solution until the new remedy is available, they and their families will be safer if they take the time to learn if their vehicle is covered and follow their manufacturers' instructions. A hassle is much better than a family tragedy." If you're the owner of an affected car, expect to hear more from the official automaker and government channels in short order. In the meantime, we'd suggest getting your car checked and fixed at your local dealer. The official statement and recall information can be found below. Previously Recalled Vehicle Remedies Not Working as Designed; NHTSA Announces Follow up Recall of 2.12 Million Cars and SUVs Saturday, January 31, 2015 Contact: Gordon Trowbridge, 202-366-9550, Public.Affairs@dot.gov WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced today the recall of more than 2.12 million Acura, Dodge, Jeep, Honda, Pontiac, and Toyota vehicles for a defect that may cause airbags to deploy inadvertently. The recalls will provide vehicle owners with a new remedy after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles.

Toyota FT-86 Open Concept leaves us feeling flushed

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

When last we checked in on our topless would-be hero, the Toyota FT-86 convertible had been reportedly placed on "indefinite hold." That was back in early October, not long after Toyota had trotted out the rear-wheel-drive canvasback to Scion dealers as a possible future product carrot if they decided not to turn in their franchises. And yet, we're here at the Tokyo Motor Show, where Toyota has taken the time to at least repaint the FT-86 Open Concept in "Flash Red," if not build a whole other car (the original Geneva showcar was white). It's enough to make our heads spin like a teenager on the verge of a breakup. Will they? Won't they?
At this point, we still don't know any more than you do - the last word we heard out of Toyota was not encouraging, although the story was that the program could still be fast-tracked if management had a change of heart. As the car has never been seen before in Japan, perhaps Toyota is merely extending its domestic audience a courtesy view before it lines this showcar in mothballs, or maybe they're still trying to make a decision on its fate and gauging public reaction on the homefront.
Interestingly, in a new story published today, Automotive News quotes Subaru brand boss Yasuyuki Yoshinaga downplaying the likelihood of a production model, saying flatly "We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen." The executive went on to note, "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change." Given that such a car would probably trade in rather small volumes, that sounds like a significant hurtle.
