2010 Toyota Fj Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l, Under 40k Miles on 2040-cars

Year:2010 Mileage:39300
Location:

Santa Maria, California, United States

Santa Maria, California, United States

VERY clean, dealer maintained 4x4  FJ Cruiser, Army Green with white top. I added a grill guard, brush guard, and a fun lucky star pinup girl that was reminiscent of my grandfathers pinup gal from his WWII bomber. This simple little star/pinup got this fun little rig into  a few car shows and parades, and I get so many thumbs up from people it's very cool! However, if you don't like it, it is just a decal and pretty easy to remove, but it really does give the FJ some character!  I also added a cool real grenade shifter to the 4x4 shifter, but if you're the anti-2A commie type, I have the original shifter as well, and once again, all the gun decals can be removed...just know I think you're a pussy.
Now,  The vehicle has NEVER been in serious 4x4 conditions (which probably makes me a pussy)...mostly dirt roads. Like I said, ALWAYS dealer maintained with synthetic oil.I added a clarion stereo/CD player to get bluetooth capabilities and added an ipod hookup hidden in the glove box. I do still have the original radio if you want it back. it does have the 8-speakers but not the sub woofer in the back...The Clarion does have a cool sound equalizer that can get the bass thumping though. This FJ is 4x4 and has the optional Rear Diff. locking button, so it is a serious off-road vehicle. It has less than 40k miles on it, and is immaculate except for some scuffs here and there as I hauled my band equipment in the back mostly. It also does have the safety back up camera which is pretty cool, and  The Tires are BRAND new!!! Now this is my second listing and my last time...I've also put it on a local craigslist and autotrader this time, so I'll be honest l do reserve the right to end this early if someone local buys it for what I want. (think high Kelly bluebook for excellent condition private sale). I set my reserve just a tad lower...not much, I'm not in a huge hurry to sell her, she's paid off, but just taking space, and I wanna buy a new  Indian motorycle. So, last chance ebay.

Toyota, Daihatsu and Suzuki team up to unbox some fun-size electric kei vans

Thu, May 18 2023

The G7 Summit is happening in Hiroshima, Japan, right now and some automakers have taken the opportunity to announce new projects. Toyota, their wholly owned subsidiary Daihatsu, and Suzuki (of which Toyota owns about 5%) made news with a trio of electric micro-vans built to kei car specifications. The battery-electric vans are part of an industry-wide push toward carbon neutrality. Kei-class vehicles, in addition to limited displacement gasoline engines, have strict dimensional restrictions that allow them to navigate the often narrow streets in dense urban areas. They're also privilege to certain tax breaks and parking benefits.  [gallery ids="2474953,2474954"] The engine size rules obviously don't apply to the electric vans, but they will still conform to the size boundaries. Kei vans are often used to solve the "last mile" problem in logistics since they're able to whiz around crowded streets inaccessible by larger commercial vehicles.  Daihatsu, which specializes in kei cars, will build the vans and name their variant the HiJet Cargo. The HiJet name has been a consistent one in the company's lineup since 1960, but these new versions will be front-wheel-drive in contrast to the rear-wheel-drive gasoline variants. Toyota's version will be called the Pixis Van, while Suzuki will be named the Every, a nameplate that's been around since 1982. Aside from the badges the vans appear identical. Range is said to be approximately 200km (124 miles) on a single charge.  The exhibition was held in conjunction with the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, which former Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda heads. Toyoda stepped down from the top position at the company his grandfather founded in April, but still takes a overseer role as Chairman. Toyoda was criticized for being slow to adopt EVs, and new CEO Koji Sato has emphasized the role of battery-electrics moving forward while still taking a multi-front approach to carbon neutrality with hydrogen and hybrids. These vans were likely in development before Toyoda's retirement, though.

The pre-race and first in-race report from Le Mans

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

The 2013, 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has begun, tragedy marking the opening laps with the death of Allan Simonsen. We're at the track now as a guest of Audi and plan to stay through the evening, and even we haven't been able to find out what caused the accident - the only video is from just after the incident, and beyond the statement from ACO there's been no more news. The Aston Martin in the LM GTE Am class and its all-Danish drivers had taken pole in its class and was one of the favorites to win.
The pre-race report will come first, and even thought we can't spoil the race because we're only five hours into it at the time of writing, we'll put all of the news at the end in case you don't even want the updates.
Or you can go straight to the high-res galleries above.

Japanese automakers ramping production for renewed American sales

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

The 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan took quite the toll on the automotive industry in that nation. Not content to lean on that tragedy as excuse for slagging sales, the Japanese automakers are planning on a major production expansion in North America. The aim is to reclaim the market share lost from the Tsunami-based dip, and overcome a dollar/yen exchange rate that makes exporting to America unprofitable.
Following the Tsunami, Japanese automakers ramped up production in their North American facilities to compensate, but according to Automotive News, Nissan, Honda and others have all reported plans for still-further increased production in the year ahead. As part of this ramp-up, Mazda will open a facility in Salamnca, Mexico before March of 2014. Part of that increase in output is 50,000 units of a Toyota-badged compact car, which Mazda will produce.
Other Mexican production facilities opening include a Honda plant, which will open in Spring 2014 in Celaya, and a Nissan plant, set to open later this year in Aguascalientes. Nissan also said that it will need another plant in North America within the next five years. According to Nissan Boss Carlos Ghosn, the company aims to raise its stake in the US market from 8 percent to 10, and adding production will help achieve that goal. Even Mitsubishi is aiming to boost production at its Normal, Illinois plant. Production of the Outlander Sport is currently at 50,000, which Mitsubishi wants to raise to 70,000.
