2007 - Toyota Fj Cruiser on 2040-cars
Gideon, Missouri, United States
Our family friends got transferred to South America with short notice, so I am listing their FJ Cruiser on their behalf. This vehicle sports a two tone VooDoo blue and white paint job with roof rails. This vehicle was proudly serviced and maintained. The 239HP 4.0L V6 has lots of power when you need it and was driveway parked. It's great for cruising the highway or off-road with a lockable 4WD system, traction control and tow package. The split rear fold down seats deliver lots of cargo room when needed. The factory sound system still works great with a CD player and (6) speakers. The dash features a compass, clock, outside temperature thermometer, tachometer and incline indicator. Tires are at 5/32 to 6/32 tread depth 89,725 miles! There are some hairline scratches in the paint and scuffs on the bumpers. The interior is in good condition with normal wear and tear. The rear gate has a crease in it behind the spare tire (hidden) and a kink in the bottom reinforcement. The rear gate interior liner was removed for repair and is missing. This is a $500 to $600 fix assuming a labor and an OEM panel (see photos for details). Also being sold separately is one set of (4) studded winter tires with alloy wheels under eBay listing 261586755746. Although sold separately, they can ship with the SUV at no additional cost. The title is free and clear of liens. Thanks, Carl (c) 309-360-1228 ~ this phone number is offered as a courtesy should you have questions about the vehicle. Please do not call to negotiate a price.

Toyota recounts past Supra glories
Mon, 29 Jul 2013It could just be a slow start to the news week around the Toyota offices, but its UK blog has posted a brief history on its legendary Supra sports car. Read into however you'd like, but there has been plenty of speculation as to the return of the Supra nameplate in recent years (including last month from incoming Toyota chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada).
Built from April 1978 through July 2002, Toyota's sports coupe made quite a name for itself as both the Celica Supra (shown above) and the Supra, and the blog post charts many of the changes and highlights through the years. Head on over to the Toyota UK blog to read more about this Supra's history, and then be sure to check out the gallery of images from Toyota spanning all four generations.
Toyota nears $40B cash reserve as calls grow for new investment, payouts
Wed, 05 Feb 2014With the April 15 tax deadline just a few months away, our US readers will be faced with a decision should they get a refund: save or spend? It seems this issue is one many of us face whenever there's a windfall, trying to decide whether we should set the money aside in an account of some sort or use it as a down payment on a new car or a trip to the Apple store. Unsurprisingly, major corporations face a similar, albeit more complex, issue.
Take Toyota, for example. With President Akio Toyoda at the helm, the Japanese manufacturer has gracefully weathered recalls and natural disasters, all while turning beaucoup profits. Last quarter, profits quintupled to 434.4-billion yen ($4.3-billion USD), according to Bloomberg. Toyota also upped its forecast for the end of fiscal year 2013 (which ends on March 31 for Japan), to a record 1.9-trillion yen (about $18.8 billion). Now, the Japanese brand is reportedly sitting on a cash pile of nearly $40 billion, leaving Toyoda-san in an envious predicament - what should the company do with all that money?
Some think Toyota should be doing something, anything with that big stack of cash.
Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
