2008 Toyota Corolla S Sedan 4-door 1.8l - 106500 K+ Miles on 2040-cars
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States
2008 Toyota Corolla S Black Hello, thanks for looking. Moving overseas I need to sell my wonderful Corolla S manual. I am the 1st owner of this car and it is in better condition and price than described by KBB as a FAIR car (see bellow) as far as today Oct. 7 2013. This car had an accident in the rear back driver side when it was 30~40K miles and was repaired by Gaico Insurance and I never noticed any cosmetic difference. This repair is cosmetically perfect for my eyes but a professionally trained eyes could perhaps notice something. The car has 95% of its maintenance made by Toyota Dealers since it was new and is up-to-date with all maintenance schedule and I advice you to keep up-to-date and this horse will last forever. Parts recently (less than 6 months) serviced by Toyota Dealer: Water Pomp, Brakes, one front light bulb of the passenger side, belts (+/- 1 year ago). I scratched the rear part close to the rear door in the passenger side in a post same day I decided to sell, I think the car got jealous. Its handmade repaired by me with the original Toyota color bought from the dealer (#209) and I will deliver another never opened little bottle of painting in case you want to retouch all the details (again, see pictures for more info). But having said that, all of the "dings and scratches" are of cosmetic nature and do not affect how well the car runs. I am not a used car dealer and I cannot perform repairs for you, so please bid accordantly. If you use the buy-it-now option and pay the $500 nonrefundable deposit, once you pick up the car, you will only owe $8,000; which we can only accept Paypal, a money order or a cashier's check, the reason is too many bad personal and business checks reported on eBay sales. I will accept a $500 nonrefundable deposit to hold the car for you. This must be paid with PayPal within 2 days or the car may be sold to someone else. Either way, the $500 will not be returned to you under any circumstances... Period. So, if you cannot pick-up the car please arrange for the car to be shipped to you within a week after the listing is over. This is your responsibility and not mine. Mileage Info The 106.500K mileage information is correct as of today's date (10/7/2013) but since people may test drive it in the future, I can't guarantee that is accurate after today's date. Car's Title this car is paid in full and it has a clean title from North Carolina. Any Questions? Please send me an email and I will get back to you within a timely manner. The 2022 Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR 86 aftermarket upgrader's guide
Wed, Sep 1 2021When you own an enthusiast car, there are few events more nerve-wracking than the introduction of its successor. Should you upgrade? Is it worthwhile? What will it cost you to part out your mods and trade up? Well, there's good news for owners of the outgoing Scion FR-S, Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ who are considering an upgrade: You might not have to start with a clean slate. If you’re an owner (or even a casual fan) of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 family of sports coupes, youÂ’re probably already aware that the 2022 models are more like aggressive overhauls than true, ground-up redesigns. Neither company really wants to put a spotlight on the fact that their coupes are a little less "all-new" and a little more "back and better than ever," but in our opinion, this is something Subaru and Toyota should embrace. Why? In a word: continuity. Look no further than the NA (1989-1997) and NB (1999-2005) Mazda Miata. While they are regarded as distinct generations (the NA defined by its pop-up headlights and simpler lines; the NB by its fixed lamps and swoopier styling) and were offered with different equipment packages, the fundamental underlying chassis remained relatively unchanged. This meant that, in many cases at least, buyers could trade up to a new model but bring along some of their factory and aftermarket accessories because theyÂ’d still fit. The BRZ and GR 86 are meant to be fairly bare-bones vehicles, the idea being that they appeal to those who want limited frills at a low cost and those who prefer to view cars as canvases rather than finished masterpieces. A long-running platform makes an excellent candidate for the latter type of car buyer. So, what does that mean for the 2022 BRZ and GR 86? Well, let's break it down by whatÂ’s truly new, whatÂ’s kind-of-new, and whatÂ’s essentially carry-over, with some guidance from Subaru and Toyota engineers. 2022 Subaru BRZ blue action profile View 22 Photos Spankin' new LetÂ’s start with the obvious: the styling. Even if you can find older aftermarket appearance kits that will fit the new BRZ and GR 86 on paper, they probably wonÂ’t bolt up nicely to the new cars due to their sleek new exterior designs. Wings and spoilers might still bolt up, but donÂ’t count on it, and theyÂ’ll probably look disjointed at best anyway.
Japan plans real-world diesel emissions test after companies fail
Fri, Mar 4 2016Japan's transport ministry plans to start real-world diesel emissions tests after an experiment found four models from Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi that produced more nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions than the nation's rules allow, according to The Japan Times. Regulators there usually only perform emissions checks in the lab. The VW diesel scandal has everyone double-checking their figures. Diesel versions of the Toyota Hiace van, Land Cruiser Prado, and Nissan X-Trail produced up to 10 times more NOx than allowed. The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 was up to five times over the limit, The Wall Street Journal reports. There was no evidence of defeat devices in the vehicles. Mazda performed well in the experiment, though. The CX-5 passed with nearly the same results on the road and in the lab. The Demio, better known as the Mazda2, did nearly as well with only slighter higher figures in the real world than in the controlled setting. The experimenters theorized the reason for the excessive emissions was that cold weather caused the engines' software to shut off the exhaust gas recirculation to prevent damage, according to the WSJ. However, this behavior also increased NOx production. Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi don't have to worry about punishment from the transport ministry because this check was just an experiment. Their models already passed the mandated lab tests, which was the only requirement, according to The Japan Times. As governments begin greater real-world emissions tests, the results suggests diesels aren't very clean. A recent check in France found models from Ford, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz that didn't perform up to the standards. Regulators in India conducted similar evaluations and ordered VW to recall over 300,000 vehicles. Related Video:
This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
