I bought this car new for my wife in 2006. It has had Mobil 1 engine oil in it since the first oil change and I've changed the oil at 5000 mile intervals since then. It has about 1000 miles on the last oil change. A few months ago I gave it to my son and bought my wife a new 2013. But he has to be a macho-man and drive a big SUV thing which he already complains costs too much to run. So now I'm selling the pretty-much perfect 2006. To you I guess.
Early on I replaced the wimpy OEM horns to some Serious loud and impressive sounding units. I later installed Continental's highest wet-traction rated tires and I guess they are still about half there. Fabulous tires too - they made it handle at least 200% better than the original tires - it just became a completely different car with the Continentals on it. The brakes are all new and the brake fluid was flushed and changed at 60K miles. Whatever it says in the owners manual to do to the car - I have always done. I always kept the car nice for her. Not too long ago, maybe last fall, the dealer replaced the CPU computer unit even though I specifically told them not to as I was having no issues with it. It was a recall and I guess they like to back charge Toyota whenever they can.
I have four Toyotas now and have had more in the past. They always treat me like gold, never cause any problems, and apparently run like a fine watch forever. One of mine is over 20 years old now too.
With less than 62K miles on this 2006 - my thought was that it would last my son well through his doctorate degree and then maybe he could teach His son to drive in it - but I guess he knows more than the old man. This 2006 will Run down the road too. It's astonishingly fast and has averaged about 32-34mpg ever since it was new. No wait; the first tank it got 30.9 mpg - but never again that low.
This is basically a clean, well cared for, adult driven, non-smoking Corolla which has no real flaws other the scrape on the rear bumper. I'm not sure that anything other than cloth grocery bags have ever been in the trunk. You can see that the paint looks very nice, the car has always been kept washed and waxed and under cover, the carpet and interior is nice, and everything functions just as it should with no issues. The car runs, drives, and looks great and will no doubt last for another 200K miles. I am Very sorry now that I didn't just keep this 2006 and not buy the 2013 at all.
Any questions - just let me know.
Good luck bidding.

Autoblog Minute: Ford Ranger, UK Mustang, Hyundai Hybrid
Fri, Aug 28 2015Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over the Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of the Toyota Prius and a new Hyundai. Autoblog's senior editor Greg Migliore reports on the weekly recap edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of Prius and a new Hyundai. I'm Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute weekly recap. 2011 was the last time we saw Ford's midsize pickup in the US but according to a report from the Detroit News we could see production of the Ranger at the [00:00:30] Dearborn automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant as early as 2018. Ranger could compete with the Chevy Colorado and perhaps revive the compact and midsize pickup market for Ford, but the future of Ranger in the US depends a lot on Ford's ongoing negotiations with the UAW. About 2,000 orders for the 2015 Mustang were placed in the UK, tying up production of the pony car until July 2016. According to details in a press release from Ford UK, [00:01:00] it looks like Brits are a lot like their American cousins, opting for the 5.0 liter V8, with Race Red as the popular color of choice. Photos of the 2016 Toyota Prius leaked generating a lot of buzz over the styling. This fourth generation Prius will have some new competition as spy shots of a new Hyundai also surfaced this week. The car is said to be a hybrid and a bonafide "Prius fighter." Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday, [00:01:30] including the latest in FCA rumors for 2016. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. Toyota's Texas move could boost state's economy by $7.2B in 10 years
Thu, 15 May 2014They say everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently that includes the Toyota's effect on the economy. The giant Japanese automaker's new headquarters in Plano, TX, will add an estimated $7.2 billion to the state over the next 10 years, according to a new study commissioned by the city and cited by Bloomberg.
The benefits appear to be an absolute steal compared to the direct incentives that Plano and the state are giving Toyota. The report finds that by the time the automaker's campus is complete in 2018, it could have 3,650 full-time workers there at an average salary of $104,000. The city has prepared $6.75 million in grants, plus property tax discounts, according to Bloomberg. In addition to that, the state is offering the business $40 million in incentives from its Texas Enterprise Fund. This is still a fraction of what Toyota is estimated to bring in.
Toyota announced in April that it would move its US operations to Plano after being headquartered in California since 1957. The move affects thousands of employees from the sales and engineering divisions. The first workers will arrive there this fall, but Toyota will eventually have a whole campus in Plano by late 2017. The move is expected to save it huge amounts in taxation and offer employees a lower cost of living. Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz also says that the Texas location puts the headquarters closer to more of the business' factories in the south. Texas certainly appears to be showing it some southern hospitality.
Airbag recall widens to include BMW, Chrysler, Ford and Toyota
Mon, 23 Jun 2014The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a roll in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time.
BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall.
Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands
