PRICE SEEMS A BIT STEEP, BUT READ ON. I ASSURE YOU, IT'S WORTH IT.
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE INQUIRING!
This car is still my daily driver, registered under my name and inspected. She's still running and miles will increase.

I had an offer for this car by a gentleman back in June for 1800. The only reason why the deal fell through is because he wanted the new struts installed in the car at the time of purchase and I could not accommodate his request. But upon test driving and assessing, the car was basically worth the offer. Also, more money has gone into the car since that time.

I bought a car better suited for the winter months so now I am selling this car. It's a great little car, and has been very good to me. Absolutely reliable. Everything I did for this car since I took ownership back in December 3, 2012 was basically long overdue maintenance. Otherwise, no mechanical repairs were necessary nor are they now.

I can't list all the things done. I have a meticulous service history for the car. They're for record purposes only as many jobs were DIYs. The major jobs however were done by a competent mechanic.

I really don't drive very much, and although I have had the car for 10 months, I have only put in 6000 miles on the car. So all the repairs done on this car are recent, with most of the benefits being transferred to the new owner. This car needs nothing.

Just the few big items I will list here, but keep in mind that this car is solid inside and out and much more was actually done:

1. Timing belt, tensioner, drive belt, and water pump all replaced within the last 6 months, with only 3000 miles on them.
2. New struts, all 4. Complete assembly replacement. So new springs, mounts, boots... you name it.
3. New linkages, front and rear
4. New tie rods, inner and outer
5. New coolant, complete with flush
6. New transmission gear oil. AMSOIL 75W90
7. MANY MANY MORE.
8. NEW CLUTCH!!! much lighter than the original OEM and grabs straight off the floor!
9. New mounts, engine passenger side and transmission side.
10. New tires! all 4. TOYO - Balanced and good to go! Nitrogen filled.
11. Alignments done regularly.
12. Oil changes done on the dot. This car doesn't need to be jacked for oil changes. So very convenient! currently running on Valvoline Maxlife. Excellent oil!

The car isn't pretty, but it's an absolutely solid car. EVERYTHING works! and I mean everything! no blown speakers (upgraded Kenwood unit with all 4 matching Kenwood speakers. 3 way units)
and all windows go up and down. (manually)
And every dash lights, dome lights, AC, everything. Work like they should.
Heat is awesome! it can get so hot during winter inside the car I've had back seat passengers complain about the heat! The AC is ice cold!

Cons:
Could do with replacement of both the front and rear engine mounts as well since they're also old and were not replaced with the other two mounts (Note, this is not essential. It's merely a recommendation). I never quite got around to it. But they're 25 dollar parts and a few hour DIYs.
The result is occasionally, especially when cold and the engine has just started, there is a little bit of vibration. Other times it's absolutely smooth inside the car. The shift is a bit rough feeling as well when cold. That's cause the mounts that are new are doing all the work and they're not that pliant when cold. But this is in no way a mechanical fault on the car.
I had the car driven by mechanics who said this is one of the smoothest and best running 20 year old car they've seen. My personal mechanic said that he wishes everyone looked after their car like I did. At the time of the drive I was told that the transmission mount would need to be replaced. But the right side engine mount was done as an elective. The other two mounts if replaced would probably make this car drive like new.
And there is a whiff of gas due to a corroding filler neck pipe. It's a 65 dollar part and a 2 hour DIY. I could do this myself, but never got around to it since again, doesn't affect the car. In fact, only smells when the car is full to the brim in gas. Otherwise, no smell and runs perfect.
Burns around .5-1.5 quarts of oil in 3000 miles. VERY normal for these cars. They all do it. And it's actually normal for cars to burn a bit of oil so this isn't unusual but I thought I'd mention it. No smoke though, at least nothing that would be considered out of the ordinary. The car's engine is still smooth and it seems to be getting better on the oil consumption since switching to Valvoline Maxlife.
Lastly, paint isn't in the best shape. But the car is solid. I did what I could to prevent further oxidation and aging of the paint and metal. The car is very very clean and doesn't look too bad.

I've put a ton of cash in to the car during my ownership (Well over 2000 dollars). In fact, I'm losing money selling this car. But i need a better car for the winter. I just wanna recoup some of the money I sunk into this car. Trust me, even at this price I'm losing money so don't expect to get this car for nothing. I am practically giving the car away for free. I just want some of the repair money back. That is all.
I don't want anyone to think this car is unreliable. It's a TOYOTA COROLLA! these things run till you die first! and the only reason why so much money was spent was due to timing belt and clutch replacement! big cost there! but the car never stalled, broke down, over heated or left me stranded. EVER. She took me to Connecticut and back in a single day, no rest. No problems.

Again, this car was good enough to receive a 1800 dollar offer. I'm sure you will appreciate this car. It will move fast! So if you're in the market for a very well kept cheap little car that will SAVE YOU MONEY GUARANTEED then don't let this little gem get away! I didn't list all the things I've done for this car! Trust me, it's worth it!

Will throw in Haynes manual with car. And air filter, as well as oil filter.
The car isn't pretty, but it is VERY CLEAN. I have applied clear coat to keep the car from rusting further. Currently the car has no rust, is clean and has no problems whatsoever.
I'm selling this car because I got a better and newer car. When I think of selling it after only 10 months of use with all the money and repairs done, I feel like I want to keep the car but frankly can't because it would be impractical to insure 2 cars for just me.

So come on over and see this little gem!
Exterior isn't great, but interior is MINT and super clean!
The car gets around 26 mpg in the town. Up to 34 MPG highway. I typically got 32 however.
And this car is dirt cheap to insure!

Reach me at 8-four-5 five-4-five 55-two-5
Please no spam, scam or paypal deals, or cashier's checks or whatever. This is a cheap car. So come with cash in hand and inspect the car yourself. This is a great little car and I promise you that you won't be disappointed!

Toyota Crown celebrates 60 years

Sat, Jan 10 2015

Toyota offers a robust lineup of cars in North America, but while the Crown may not be one of them, that wasn't always the case. And this year, the company's longest-running nameplate is marking its sixtieth anniversary. First introduced way back in 1955, the Crown was Toyota's first major export. It became the first Japanese passenger car to reach the US market when the first-generation Crown was launched here in 1958, and marked the company's arrival in Europe when the second-gen model arrived in Denmark in 1963. It started building the Crown in Australia in 1967 and in China more recently in 2005. The Crown is now on its fourteenth generation, and to mark its birthday, Toyota is launching the sedan for a limited time only in sky blue and bright green. Jan. 08, 2015 Toyota 'Crown' Turns 60 Sixty years ago this week, Toyota launched the "Crown", a luxury sedan that would go on to become the company's longest-running passenger-car nameplate and a significant vehicle in the history of the Japanese automobile industry. In 1958 the Crown became the first Japanese passenger car to be exported to the United States, and also started Toyota's passenger car exports to Africa in 1957 and Europe in 1962. Now in its 14th generation, its foremost models are the Crown Royal deluxe saloon and the Crown Athlete sports sedan, both with hybrid powertrain options. In Japan, Toyota is marking the anniversary with the introduction of limited-time-only sky blue and bright green exterior body colors. Latest Forza Motorsport 5 car pack leaves us scratching our head (in a good way) [w/video]

Wed, Jul 2 2014

As we scrolled down the roster of the latest car pack for Forza Motorsport 5, the Hot Wheels Car Pack, our expression became bemused over the strange mix of vehicles that we now have at our disposal. This is quite unlike any of the other sets of DLC Turn 10 Studios has offered. Sure, there are the typical headliner cars – the Lamborghini Veneno and 2015 Audi S3 – that will appeal to the mainstream racing fan or auto enthusiast. But this latest car pack is so jammed full of nuggets of automotive weirdness that it's hard not to get excited. The Hot Wheels pack has no shortage of racers, with a particular focus on historical offerings. A 1939 Auto Union Type D covers the pre-war era of Formula One, while a 1967 Lotus 49 and a 1952 Ferrari 375 represent post-war racing. For a modern twist, a Mazda USF2000 car slots in below the Indy Lights car from the Nurburgring booster pack. From here, things get vintage and weird. There are a pair of delightfully offbeat coupes, in the form of a 1974 Toyota Celica GT and a 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT (here's hoping we get a vintage Holden Monaro in the future). Those two are joined by a 1956 Ford F-100, which your author already plans on converting into a dragster with vinyl flames down the side (because that's what all vintage pickups should be). The new ride we're most excited about, though, is the 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500. Yes, that's the van from The A-Team, and we're sure it will prove to be an excellent canvas for the artists of FM5 to cover with airbrushed, fire-breathing unicorns and mystical, gray-haired wizards (or just poorly painted letters that read "Free Candy"). This latest car pack is the final monthly car pack for FM5, although Turn 10 is quick to point out that while the monthly updates are over, there will still be new batches of cars made available to gamers. As for the Hot Wheels pack, it's available now on Xbox Live for $9.99. Scroll down for the press release from Turn 10 Studios, as well as a video of the newest additions to Forza Motorsport 5's vehicle roster. Forza Motorsport 5 Hot Wheels Car Pack Now Available Turn 10 Studios is bringing the Hot Wheels® Car Pack to "Forza Motorsport 5," available for download today. The pack features a collection of vehicles built from the ground up for the new generation that car fans can collect and customize while putting their virtual driving skills to the test.

Toyota Sienna vs Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid | Minivan comparison test

Mon, Mar 29 2021

Shopping for a new car can be difficult due to the sheer number of choices. Which brand do you start with, which do you skip and are you missing something worthwhile? Thankfully, minivans are much simpler. There are effectively only four choices, they're all pretty good and they're even different enough to make choosing the right one for you a bit easier. This comparison features the two most recently updated minivans: the Toyota Sienna versus the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. Besides their common newness, they stand out in another fundamental way: they're both hybrids. Now, they're very different hybrids – the Toyota comes standard with a traditional gasoline-electric system like that of a Prius, whereas the Pacifica is offered with an optional plug-in hybrid system that provides an estimated 32 miles of all-electric range before effectively turning into a traditional hybrid – but in both cases, fuel economy is the priority. With the rare exception, the minivan segment has exclusively used V6 engines, which provide sufficient power to move hefty loads of people and stuff. The Chrysler Pacifica comes standard with a V6, while a V6 is the sole powertrain option for the Honda Odyssey and new 2022 Kia Carnival. The fuel economy difference between those and our hybrid competitors is staggering: The new Sienna gets an EPA-estimated 36 mpg combined while the Odyssey and V6 Pacifica get 22 mpg. That equates to saving an estimated $750 every year on gas, according to the EPA. And the Pacifica Hybrid could potentially save you even more as long as you routinely utilize its electric range. This frugality alone could send the Sienna and Pacifica Hybrid to the top of many shopping lists, but as we've seen in previous tests, they offer more than enough in other respects to warrant top consideration. But which is better, Sienna or Pacifica? Well, we knew this was going to be close, and we were right. After averaging the scores from 16 categories, the difference between first and second was a mere 0.06 out of 10. When we added extra weight to key minivan-buying attributes (second-row space/versatility, safety features and functionality, infotainment, interior storage, cargo space/versatility, value and fuel economy), the gap was only 1 point out of a possible 230. We then triple checked and conducted a recount, but the order remained. In the end, there are no losers here.
