1992 Toyota Corolla 4 dr Sedan, 76,877 original miles 1.6L 1587CC l4 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated front wheel drive.
I am the second owner. I bought this from the original owner with 62,789 in 11/2012. The car was hit while parked in my driveway by a car that lost control. He saw the car last minute and swerved to avoid but grazed the side causing the front passenger side fender and some scratches in the paint down the right side (see photos). The fender can be bought for between $75 and $100 in stock color and less for primed aftermarket. I already looked it up and found the part. There was no frame damage at all and did not affect drive ability at all.
The drivers insurance estimated to fix the fender and trim piece and paint to be too high compared to book value so they declared it a total loss. The body shop told me there was no frame damage at all and there was no reason not to keep it and repair cosmetics if I decided to based upon the condition of the car.
He said I could get all the parts to fix it myself for $300-400. I kept it and have been driving it since without any issues at all.
I was going to buy the fender and repair it before selling it but I felt it would be better to see the actual damage to the car than to hide it with new parts and read a report saying it was a total loss and not knowing the extent of the damage.
The car is automatic and the transmission was serviced/ flushed at a transmission shop and is 100% flawless. It has power steering, power brakes, absolutely freezing air conditioning, and great heat, Tires have 10,000 miles on them, oil change and coolant flush, new thermostat and lower radiator hose, all new bulbs in all exterior lights this week. Has a new battery, starter and alternator and spark plugs, wires and distributor cap.
The car gets 30mpg costs $35 to fill up and runs awesome.
Commute all week on one tank of gas!
Great first car or College transportation!
These cars are almost impossible to find with this low mileage and when properly cared for last to 200k + miles easily.
Most of these offered have 150k + miles on them.

Priced at the low end of NADA value willing to hear reasonable offers.

Any questions just ask

Thanks!

Toyota's Lentz says fuel cells are the future, not EVs

Sun, 25 May 2014

Toyota is not bullish on EVs. That comes from the company's North American CEO, Jim Lentz, who said the company will focus not on electrification, but on continued hybridization with a long-term focus on hydrogen fuel cells.
Lentz questioned the long-range ability of EVs, saying that Toyota feels "there are better alternatives, such as hybrids and plug-in hybrids, and tomorrow with fuel cells." Lentz spoke about Toyota's focus on hydrogen following Forbes Brainstorm Green conference and barely a week after a battery deal between Tesla and Toyota ended, according to Automotive News.
That deal provided for 2,500 battery packs for the Rav4 EV. While valuable to Toyota, the deal "was never about open-ended volume," Lentz said. "It was time to either continue or stop. My personal feeling was that I would rather invest my dollars in fuel cell development than in another 2,500 EVs."

North American production of foreign marques to jump in 2014

Sun, 23 Dec 2012

Wards Auto has released its North American Light Vehicle Production Forecast for 2014, and the report predicts foreign manufacturers will increase production on the continent some 3.9 percent by 2014. If accurate, that should see 123,000 additional cars, trucks and vans produced in North America, swelling the total number of units produced both by domestic and foreign manufacturers to 16.9 million light vehicles from a projected 15.6 million in 2013. Much of the increase can be attributed to the fact that Toyota intends to produce another car at its Blue Springs, MS plant as well as a new Lexus model at its Georgetown, KY facility in a year's time.
Likewise, Volkswagen intends to move production of a currently imported model to its plant in Puebla, Mexico. Daimler, Honda, Nissan and Mazda also plan to build additional models on North American soil for the first time. Around two-thirds of the new North American manufacturing will take place in Mexico, helping the country soak up a full 20 percent of the content's automotive production for the first time. You can head over to the Wards Auto site for the full report.

Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.
