        Hello,

I am reluctantly offering this amazingly solid Corolla for your consideration. I brought this car home to give to my teenage daughter. I knew she would think it was super cool just like I do. Well I was wrong. I told her this car is just like the one Red and Kitty bought on That 70's Show when he gave his son Eric the Vista Cruiser wagon. My TV trivia knowledge didn't help her see things my way. Why I would buy a car for her that does not have a phone jack and a U.S.B. port is beyond logic....I can't afford to keep it and buy her something different so I must sell it.

This car was imported to, bought in and raised in Florida were it spent its life mostly in the garage. It is very solid and rust free probably because of the rust inhibitor that was dealer installed and documented on the original window sticker (see pics). The paint appears to be original everywhere except a spot on the front right fender in front of the wheel where a bad touch up has been attempted. The trunk lock has been broken and removed. A new lock cyl. is available on EBAY for 40.00. The pin stripes and moldings were added at the dealer as well as the black vinyl top and floor mats that are still with the car along with the optional wheel trim rings. Overall this car is really original and very cool.

Under the hood is a 1.6 4cyl that gets awesome mpg and a automatic transmission that sends the power to the rear axle. You will not win any drag races with this car in its stock form but it is dependable and fun to drive like it is and would be a great candidate for a motor swap, turbo, or maybe a resto mod. The car is so original and solid you may feel bad about chopping it up but if not it could be a mean drifter or bracket racer as well. I made a 2 1/2 hour road trip in this little car yesterday and find it hard to believe how nice it goes down the road. When I drive it I find myself with a smile stuck on my face. If you are a shy person do not buy this car. You can't go anywhere in it without people coming up to you and wanting to see and talk about the car. If you have any questions please call me at 513-792-9444 and I will do my best to answer them. Obviously this car is sold as is without any warranty. Please only bid if you are a serious buyer. Thanks for looking and have a nice day.

Car comes with original window stickers and owners manuals ( see pics)

CARB uses tricked-out RAV4 EV to measure air pollution in California

Fri, May 23 2014

The old-school Toyota RAV4 EV you see above is the California Air Resources Board's version of a non-participant observer. The all-electric vehicle cruises around the state measuring airborne pollution. Since it's powered by batteries, there are no tailpipe emissions created as CARB tries to get a handle on how dirty the roadway air is. The problem, CARB says, is that it is difficult to measure air pollution levels, "during calm conditions at night and in the early morning." There are over 250 stationary air monitoring sites in California today, but the Board wanted a way to expand where and when it can test for things like ultrafine particles, carbon dioxide and nox. The original plan for the Mobile Monitoring Platform – as the RAV4 EV is officially called – was to "Investigate Spatial, Diurnal and Seasonal Pollution Gradients" on California's highways and ports. The RAV4 EV was originally expected to cost $280,000 (see pages 11-12 in this PDF from 2009), but a new report in the Modesto Bee says it had a total of $300,000 just in monitoring equipment. Michael Benjamin, CARB's chief of air monitoring, told the Bee that the MMP, "paints a thorough picture about what air quality is in any given community." More importantly, the stationary and mobile testing equipment can tell CARB when and where the air is getting cleaner. Which is the whole point, after all.

Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.

Autoblog Minute: Ford Ranger, UK Mustang, Hyundai Hybrid

Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over the Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of the Toyota Prius and a new Hyundai. Autoblog's senior editor Greg Migliore reports on the weekly recap edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of Prius and a new Hyundai. I'm Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute weekly recap. 2011 was the last time we saw Ford's midsize pickup in the US but according to a report from the Detroit News we could see production of the Ranger at the [00:00:30] Dearborn automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant as early as 2018. Ranger could compete with the Chevy Colorado and perhaps revive the compact and midsize pickup market for Ford, but the future of Ranger in the US depends a lot on Ford's ongoing negotiations with the UAW. About 2,000 orders for the 2015 Mustang were placed in the UK, tying up production of the pony car until July 2016. According to details in a press release from Ford UK, [00:01:00] it looks like Brits are a lot like their American cousins, opting for the 5.0 liter V8, with Race Red as the popular color of choice. Photos of the 2016 Toyota Prius leaked generating a lot of buzz over the styling. This fourth generation Prius will have some new competition as spy shots of a new Hyundai also surfaced this week. The car is said to be a hybrid and a bonafide "Prius fighter." Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday, [00:01:30] including the latest in FCA rumors for 2016. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore.
