'10 Toyota Corolla Le Sedan 1.8l. 25k Mi Certified To 100k By Toyota on 2040-cars
Akron, Ohio, United States
I've been listing cars for the past 12 years for friends, family and clients who accept my approach. I have 40 yrs experience as a mechanical engineer in the automobile after market. I describe vehicles carefully and accurately, reveal any defects, provide buyers with all available service records and photos including the underside of the vehicle--something 99% of eBay sellers would rather you not know about apparently. That's where a lot of the money gets spent on a used car. Since I sell world-wide we have sent vehicles to Europe, Mexico, the Middle East and all over the US, I can't afford any surprises. Pricing Auction is NO-RESERVE meaning the car will sell to the last bidder. this could be the first bidder if there is only one bid of course. once there is an opening bid, the car will sell thru eBay. In the mean time if I get an acceptable offer locally and there has not been a bid yet this auction will get the automotive equivalent of what Arlo Guthrie called 'the disappearing railroad blues'. Dealers would clean up the defects I mentioned and put this car out there for at least $13,500, so do your own math and if you'd rather end the suspense, send me your idea. However, once there is a bid, i have to let the auction run it's course. The Scoop I'm listing this very clean Corolla for a friend. It was driven by her non-smoking niece to get back and forth to college. It's done about half the miles of the typical 2010 and has the balance of the Toyota Certified PO warrantee (to 2017 or 100k miles). This is transferable to subsequent owners until it expires. I have a card from Toyota to send in with the new owners information. The car has been serviced at Ganley Toyota in Akron needing only oil chnages, fluid interval checks with no mechanical issues to date. Body and Chassis -several scrapes in bumper paint but plastic is not cracked or mangled (see pics) -underside shows rust-free panels, brake lines, cables, only corrosion is on unplated surfaces, exhaust, etc -solid, leak-free exhaust -one pea-sized ding in edge of fender behind front left wheel, just a small paint repair required Interior -fresh, immaculate, never smoked in -clean Toyota OE carpeted mats with tie-down snaps Electricals, lights and Charging Systems -everything working perfectly--lights, flashers, horn, dash lights, interior, low-high beam, etc. Engine and miscellaneous -starts, runs, shifts smoothly -everything working as expected Scammers? Hope there's no hard feelings after I sent that 250,000 piece scam-bomb to your mail server after the last time you tried a scam on me? Don’t even think about it! I do not do bundled shipping. I don’t care if you are in the merchant marine or your late dad was the president of Sri Lanka--if you don’t have a PayPal account we aren’t doing business, period. And furthermore, please practice your English on more gullible sellers. The boiler rooms you guys call from are so noisy these days I can hear your buddies in the background asking the same stupid scammer questions: “So why are you selling your... ‘item’…” There's always the chance that you are actually interested in aluminum siding or the free ginzu knives you got all those offers for. All it cost me was a bottle of 15 yr old scotch to my friend with a pHd in computer security. Want some more of that action? Then scam on brothers. Bidders' Qualifications: Feedback less than 10? You must me an e-mail with your phone number so we can discuss my terms and conditions. I welcome legitimate international bidders and have sent vehicles to Europe and the middle east but please contact me before bidding to discuss your shipping plans. |

2015 Toyota Sienna
Thu, 25 Sep 2014It's hard to love a minivan, but it's very, very easy to use one. More than any other kind of vehicle - save a panel van, perhaps - the minivan is the most appliance-like of four-wheeled transportation devices. And most minivan buyers don't need to love their purchases; they just need to use them. So when it comes to a minivan's driving dynamics, who cares?
Well, we do. So we perked right up when Toyota talked about refinements it made to the 2015 Sienna, starting with some 142 added spot welds made to the body structure. Normally not stop-the-presses stuff, but Toyota says the added reinforcements prompted Sienna engineers to recalibrate the springs and shocks for improved handling, and our very limited wheel time along the (admittedly benign) roads on the Big Island of Hawaii revealed the 2015 Sienna SE model's handling to be tidier and more engaging than you'd expect for a porky, 4,560-pound, eight-passenger box on wheels.
Driving Notes
This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
Toyota's $1.6B unintended acceleration settlement approved
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Toyota is now one step closer to putting its unintended acceleration woes behind it as it has received approval from the US District Court for the Central District of California to settle loss-of-value claims to vehicles associated with the 2009-2010 recalls.
As we reported back in May, the Toyota settlement is worth $1.63 billion, which, according to Bloomberg, includes a payout of $757 million to affected owners, $227 million to attorneys and an additional $875 million for vehicle upgrades. (We did the math, too, and that totals $1.859 billion, but there is no justification for the discrepancy. Fuzzy math, eh?)
Based on the estimated 22.6 million vehicles said to be included in this suit, that would make the average payment about $33.49 per vehicle, but the article says that owners, lessees and even renters will receive varying amounts ranging from $9.74 up to as much as $10,000. This settlement does not affect suits filed for personal injury or wrongful death.
