You will love driving this fun little car! Power convertible top is in excellent condition and operates well. Tires are in excellent condition. Power windows, door locks, tilt, cruise, ABS, manual transmission. Alloy wheels, cruise, rear spoiler. The only reason I am selling the car is that I have purchased a new convertible. The car has not been smoked in for the seven years I have owned it. It's never been driven in the winter. It has original paint. New clutch last year. New timing belt, brakes, CV joint, and radiator within the past few years. It has some issues - the CD and cassette players do not work. The radio works sporadically - but it's so much fun to drive you won't even notice! This is a fabulous little summer car! It runs and drives great - nothing to do but enjoy! Judge halts Toyota unintended acceleration cases, triggers time for settlement negotiations
Mon, 16 Dec 2013So far, the lawsuits brought forth against Toyota for unintended acceleration have gone both ways: the automaker was found not at fault in a 2009 California crash and liable for a 2007 crash in Oklahoma. Both cases involved a Camry and resulted in fatalities. With a big chunk of these UA cases (around 200) set to his the docket of US District Judge James V. Selna in Santa Ana, California, Bloomberg is reporting that the judge has halted the lawsuits until March after Toyota and its lawyers have had extra time to try and settle the cases.
According to the article, Toyota is looking to take care of the cases out of court with an "intensive settlement process." Having already paid out $1.6 billion in "economic loss" suits, this latest settlement process is aimed at the wrongful death and personal injury cases allegedly associated with unintended acceleration. A hearing for the settlements will be held on January 14 with conferences on the matter commencing in February. There is no word as to when lawsuits may start back up if settlements can't be agreed upon.
2014 Toyota Highlander recalled over seatbelt anchors
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Toyota has announced a small recall of its redesigned, 2014 Highlander over issues with one of its seat belts. The affected vehicles, which were built from November 20, 2013 to January 18, 2014, could have a seatbelt assembly in the middle seat of the third row that wasn't properly secured to a floor anchorage at the factory.
In total, 7,067 of the new Highlanders are included in the recall, which was discovered not after a crash, but during a post-build inspection at the factory. It's unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the faulty seat belts.
Toyota is set to inform owners of the affected vehicles as well as dealers with the recalled Highlander models in their inventory. Naturally, repairs will be performed free of charge. For the full bulletin form the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, scroll down.
