Wichita Falls, Texas, United States

2004 Toyota Camry runs great, cold air conditioning, have personally driven this car 500 miles. The only bad thing is....its ugly. It was involved in a hail storm on my lot in Spring 2013. I have not had it repaired in any manner. I have finally settled with the insurance company and I am listing this vehicle (and a few others) for ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE WHATSOEVER. Please bid will full knowledge of the hail damage to this vehicle. Please carefully inspect and review the pictures.  This is being sold at ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE WHATSOEVER. When the auction closes, it will sell for that price (plus any applicable state sales tax). This Camry has exterior hail damage and has been claimed on insurance but not repaired. The title may show an insurance loss, but it is NOT a salvaged title. Please bid with an understanding that the vehicle has hail damage but is otherwise in great working condition.  I am a licensed texas dealer. Please bid with the following understanding:  Payment Terms: The successful high bidder will submit a $500 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.   Payment Methods: Cash (In Person), certified check, bank transfer, or 3rd-party financing.   Fees and Taxes: Texas residents must pay applicable sales tax and registration fees to me at time of purchase. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. ----- DISCLAIMER ----- This vehicle is currently for sale in our inventory and may be sold before the auction is ended. Therefore, we reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale.   Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to EBay, and negative feedback posted.   Please be advised that you are bidding on a pre-owned vehicle, which has been previously driven and has been subjected to normal wear and tear, both cosmetically and mechanically. We attempt to recondition all vehicles prior to offering them for sale. Since this is a pre-owned vehicle, we may or may not have all keys, books, floor mats etc... Vehicles with books, records, and/or manuals, will have pictures of those items in their auction listing; otherwise the vehicle does not include them.   If you are not sure about something, please ask. Do not assume anything not listed is included.   Odometer mileage is posted at the time of listing, but may vary do to local test driving, demos, in-transit repairs, or road testing to insure satisfaction.   All deposits are non-refundable due to removing them from the market, re-listing fees, and possible loss of sale.   We reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback.   Garrett Motor Co does not guarantee the validity and duration of the manufacture's warranty.

Toyota to drop regular-cab Tacoma as small pickups take another hit

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

Even as General Motors prepares to redesign its midsize pickups, the market for sub-fullsize trucks continues to shrink. The remaining competitors in the segment are the well-aged Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma, and now Truck Trend is reporting that the latter will be dropping its regular cab model due to poor sales.
According to the article, the available configurations for the Tacoma lineup will be whittled down in 2015, which apparently spells the end for the two-door Taco. The Tacoma is currently the last truck in its class to be offered in a regular cab configuration, with the Frontier no longer offering a standard cab model and spy shots of the next-gen Chevrolet Colorado not revealing any glimpse of a short cab, either.

Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow

Wed, Mar 16 2016

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:

Automakers paying Chinese dealers for lower-than-expected sales

Sat, Jan 10 2015

The Chinese dealers vs. foreign manufacturers story won't quit. It began with a story on the struggles faced by FAW-Toyota joint venture dealers, with supposedly 95 percent of the showrooms losing money, and 10 percent of them doing so poorly that they'd have to exit the business. The problem is mandated sales targets, most set when the country's economy was racing. Now that things have slowed, China's dealers are swimming in unsold cars and the costs to keep them. In the case of FAW-Toyota, dealers asked Toyota to hand over 2.2 billion yuan ($355 million) to help address the situation. That was followed by a report noting the issues that Honda, BMW, and Nissan dealers are having with the same issue, revealing that the Chinese Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) had taken the highly unusual step of writing to the Chinese government to complain. Now Reuters reports that CADA is not only pressing its case even harder, it's being open about it: it announced that BMW agreed to pay dealers 5.1 billion yuan ($820 million) to alleviate poor profits last year. Unnamed sources said Audi has thrown 2 billion yuan into the kitty for subsidies, and Daimler has contributed "about 1 billion yuan" to its dealers. The battle isn't just about 2014, but how business will be run in 2015 as well: Chinese Porsche dealers have requested the automaker lower its 2015 target of 64,000 cars, which would be a 40-percent increase on its 2014 sales of 46,931 vehicles. One analyst called it "shocking" that the CADA has taken its fight public, while CADA comments continue to imply that dealers have been railroaded to the cliff's edge without recourse. "Due to the difference in status," it's deputy secretary said, "individual dealers are not willing to, or don't dare to, talk frankly with the carmakers...." Both parties need one another, so they'll figure out a way to make it work – but that could mean acknowledging the Chinese market is behaving more like a mature one, not an emerging one.
