1996 Camry V6LE - super car - 150K miles (reads 241K kilometers, crazy
Canadians!) Good condition, runs well. Sunroof, chrome wheels, 3L V6 has
mucho pep. Issues are: check engine light, diagnosed as an emissions
air hose leak; needs wheel alignment; some surface rust over rear wheels
(see photos, 1 side is from scrape); driver's door outside handle; rear passenger power window (wire).
What it will NOT need as these items were recently done: rear muffler; flexpipe with catalytic converter; 4 rear trailing arms (reason for need of alignment); front brakes (including rotors); left and right front axle (CV joint); power steering rack and hose. Timing belt done at 85K, regular oil changes, maintenance. Tires OK, stickered till 10/14. Local pickup only; contact me for test drive; for sale locally as well. NOTE: When I just listed this on Ebay the information came up showing a "minor accident" involving the previous owner. I am guessing this refers to the scrape above the right rear wheel. Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:

2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Toyota offers many flavors of its refreshed 2015 Camry, but those who choose to lower their operating cost-per-mile, squeeze 500-plus miles out of each tank of fuel or run a very efficient and reliable sedan in their taxi fleets will only be interested in one: the Camry Hybrid.
The exterior of the 2015 Camry Hybrid is nearly indistinguishable from its gasoline-only counterparts, with the same all-new sheetmetal and bumpers. The Hybrid is offered in LE, SE and XLE trims, meaning customers are offered base, sport or luxury configurations, respectively.
While Toyota expended quite a bit of effort resculpting and improving the 2015 Camry Hybrid, one area it didn't touch was the powertrain - it is virtually identical to last year's model (just like the gas version). Under the hood is a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine (156 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque) and an electric tractive motor (141 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque). Combined, and running through Toyota's unique Hybrid Synergy Drive electronic continuously variable transmission, the two produce 200 horsepower (Toyota does not list a combined torque figure, and we've asked for clarification). A 1.6 kilowatt-hour nickel-metal-hydride battery, packaged behind the rear seats, provides energy storage.
