Mechanically quite good for its age. Recent work includes water pump/timing belt, alternator, exhaust work, and some brake work. Starts and runs great. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. All work within 5,000-10,000 miles of each other at local shop. Receipts records kept as well. What it needs: e-brake doesn't hold, new battery (holds charge, but slow crank in the cold), tires have only 20% tread life left, and ABS light is on. Car was driven by my sister to and from college (15 miles round trip). Never let her down. She has since graduated and it's been sitting in our driveway since. Cosmetically ruff around the edges. Passenger side has some bumps and bruises that you can see from pictures. Hub caps missing. Under body/frame rust free as seen from pictures. Interior clean for the cars age. Non smoker. Power options all work. Mirrors, windows, door locks. No rips or tears. Aftermarket radio. Given the age of the car I encourage interested buyers to come look at the vehicle. It is currently not registered or insured. I do not have time to ship or aid with shipping so local pick up is a must or have a shipping company that will take care it for you. 2014 Toyota Corolla and Tundra production underway
Fri, 02 Aug 2013After months of leaked photos and speculative reports, Toyota finally unveiled its 2014 Corolla to the world in early July at a star-studded California party. The confetti has been swept up and the champagne flutes washed and stored, and now the real work can begin: production. Toyota has announced that its new C-segment player has begun rolling off the lines at its plants in Mississippi and Ontario, Canada this week ahead of the planned start of sales in September. What's more, the refreshed 2014 Tundra pickup has also segued into production in San Antonio, Texas.
Corolla production in Mississippi is still a relatively recent phenomenon, with the plant having begun assembly of the outgoing model in the fourth quarter of 2011, while Toyota's Cambridge, Ontario plant has been churning out the compact volume king since 1988. Conversely, the Tundra has been in production at the Texas facility since 2006, and Toyota projects that the plant will build its milestone one-millionth new vehicle in September, right around the time the reworked fullsize pickup goes on sale.
Toyota mints 10-millionth vehicle in Kentucky
Fri, 30 May 2014In 26 years, from 1988 up to now, the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in Georgetown has built ten million vehicles - nearly enough for every citizen of Seoul, Korea or the nation of Hungary. The first car to roll off the line back when the claymation California Raisins were singing old Marvin Gaye hits and everybody wanted to know Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was a white Camry. The ten-millionth car to roll off the line among the Avalons and Venzas also produced there: a white Camry Hybrid.
Toyota has put $5.9 billion into the site since its inception, employment is up to 7,000 associates and will grow when Lexus ES350 assembly begins next year. Whereas car number one is a showpiece for the ages, one of the automaker's current associates will get to win the ten-millionth car in a blind drawing to be held this summer.
