22re 4x4 Straight Axle Auto A/c Unmolested No Reserve on 2040-cars

Location:

Franklin, Tennessee, United States

Franklin, Tennessee, United States

This is the 4Runner you have been looking for.  I'm trying to grow my business and need money more than my 4Runner, unfortunately.  I looked for one for 2 years to find one in this good of condition.  I hate to sell but need the money. If you are interested then you know that there are not many late model 22re fuel injected straight axles left in unmolested condition.  The truck is in good condition and if you consider that it is almost 30 years old it is in the top 10% condition of 4Runners left.

This truck does need a little TLC.  It is in great shape and if the minor issues below are addressed it would be in pristine condition. This truck would be great to drive as is or an easy full restoration project.

The interior is absolutely perfect except for the tears in the drivers seat.  One in the tan upholstery on the seat bottom and a much smaller one where the vinyl meets the plastic seat trim, both are pictured together.  Also the switch that controls the rear window just went out.  It still works great when you use the key in the back just not from the center console.  It is a quick fix I just do not have the time to do it.

The exterior paint is in good condition with some small scratches and a couple of small dings.  I tried to show the worst paint problems in the photos.  2 are on the hood one is razor blade scratches where someone removed the graphics and the other is a bird poop stain, very small as pictures show.  Also some of the decals are peeling very slightly. Next the body has the only rust issue. It is below the gas tank and is very small and has only bubbled about the size of a quarter any professional body shop would have no problem cutting it out and it would be rust free.  Last the top of the tailgate has faded slightly over the 30 years.

Drivetrain is in good working condition.  The oil leak is very slow and drips just a few drops it is not something that has to be attended to very often to keep it full. I drive the truck around town mostly on the weekends because it is a second vehicle for me. 4x4 works, A/C works, Power steering works.  Recently 3rd and 4th gear were acting up a little so I changed the shift solenoids, the lock-solenoids and the transmission filter.  It has been shifting smoothly and properly since that maintenance about 300 miles ago.  At that time I also installed a K&N air filter and changed the oil.  The truck was bought from a Army man who bought the truck from an old man that passed away in Alabama.  He had it for years in his garage and I keep it in mine also.  Vehicle comes with no warranty in As-is condition.

This truck is in great shape I just wanted to describe as best as possible feel free to ask any question or come for a test drive. The vehicle is located in Franklin, TN.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.

Recharge Wrap-up: Minnesota first to require biodiesel, maglev in Israel, Toyota FCV in Aspen

Thu, Jun 26 2014

A new Minnesota law that requires biodiesel blends goes into effect in just a few days, says KELO. Diesel drivers in Minnesota will be pumping soybeans into their tank beginning July 1. Every year, diesel will be sold as a B10 blend (ten percent biofuel) from April through August, and will scale back to a cold-hardy B5 blend from September through March. The biofuel largely comes from soybean crops grown within Minnesota, and the biodiesel industry pumps more than $900 million into the state economy every year. According to the National Biodiesel Board, using the B10 and B5 blends will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1,342,000,000 pounds every year. Minnesota is the first state to require diesel to be sold as a biofuel blend. In Japan, Isuzu Motors and Japanese biotech venture Euglena are teaming up to create biodiesel using algae, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. The goal is to create a new type of fuel that doesn't need to be mixed with light oil to be used in engines. "As long as we use light oil for diesel engines, emissions of carbon dioxide are inevitable," says Isuzu president Susumu Hosoi. Euglena has also been using algae to develop jet fuel with airline operator ANA Holdings. Isuzu and Euglena hope to have the new biodiesel developed by 2018. Aerial maglev transportation is coming to the campus of a defense contractor in Tel Aviv, Israel, Wired reports. The SkyTran personal rapid transit system uses small pods on an elevated magnetic track to move people from place to place. The pilot program will see SkyTran come to the corporate campus of Israel Aerospace Industries as soon as next year. The pods are hailed by phone, and carry passengers along the magnetic rail system at speeds of up to 44 miles per hour. The passive magnetic system levitates the pod attachment a centimeter above the rails, while a burst of electricity propels the pod forward. If the test at the campus goes well, SkyTran could spread to Tel Aviv at large, moving up to 12,000 people per track per hour with top speeds of 150 mph. The pre-production prototype of the Toyota FCV will make its North American debut at the 2014 Aspen Ideas Festival on Friday, June 27. The hydrogen car's finished exterior was revealed in Japan on Wednesday along with its nearly $70,000 price tag. It will go on sale in Japan by April of next year, and will come to Europe and California in the summer of 2015.

Toyota sells six of 10 of hybrids in California

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

In an apparent shot back at Ford's increasing market share of electrified vehicles and claim that it accepts more Prius trade-ins for its own hybrids than any other car, Toyota has flexed a muscle and played the numbers game to put the Blue Oval in its place.
Leaning on its hybrid market dominance in California, the Japanese automaker stated that six out of 10 hybrids sold in the Golden State are Toyota models. And it keeps coming: Year-to-date through May 2013, Toyota sold five times more hybrids than Ford. One of every two hybrids in California is a Prius model. In addition, Toyota notes that it has sold 1.5 million Prius vehicles in the US, 90-percent of which are still on the road today.
Want more? We'll let Bill Fay, Toyota's group vice president and general manager of sales lay the smack down:
