Excellent Sport edition with hood scoop reminiscent of the pursuit special in Mad Max.  If you desire a serious vehicle with a hood scoop look no further. Mechanically perfect and reliable this vehicle will amaze and delight your friends.  Maintained in perfect running condition at all times this truck is strong and sound.  The V8 engine is clean and even with no knocks or issues.  It can be upgraded to an off road monster or as a daily driver for many more years.  It has been garaged since I purchased.

Has All Wheel Drive....AWD, using all the wheels all the time so it is great on the roads under any conditions.  Down Hill Traction control. Cruise. Factory CD/Tape deck so you can play all those old mix tapes your old girlfriend/boyfriend gave you in high school, I know you still have them and you don't own any other cassette deck.  The V8 engine is powerful and responsive, you will like it.

The exterior has no rust and is in good condition.  It has two slight bumps on the passenger side that were present when I purchased it (see pictures).  The tail gate upper lamp does not work and the tailgate has several scuffs.  My wife drove this truck through the garage door twice.  Not a hollow core door but an insulated one, I even got a tax credit for the door it is so thick. Anyway, she blasted this awesome truck right through and the door lost both times....this truck is a mean machine with attitude all over it. Don't think of it as a scuff but as a battle scar, proving reliable service under combat conditions.  How many other 4Runners have driven through garage doors?  None this cool, I will warrant that, and two times...forget about it!  It could be fixed...or not! I prefer it this way, just to put people on notice as to the mightiness of this truck.  See the pictures to look at the scuffs...this truck is powerful...two doors and only slight damage! The doors were destroyed...I know, I paid for the garage door three times! Holy cow!

This truck isn't a wimpy SR5 or fussy Limited, it is the Sport model...front end skid plate.  This ain't one of the stock 4Runners...its like Han Solo said, "Not the local bulk cruisers mind you. I'm talking about the big Corellian ships, now."

The interior is in good condition, not tears or smells, well maintained, some slight sun cracking on dash.

I bought this truck at the Washington, PA Toyota dealer in 2009.  I traded my 2002 that was not 4WD.  I am bought another 4Runner (new Trail) and although I want to keep this truck my wife said no way...I have too many great and powerful vehicles (I do).  I own the vehicle and have clear title in hand.

You must arrange shipping, I may be able to do partial delivery to Mid-Atlantic or New England area for a fee.  I drive this vehicle to New Jersey sometimes so it may be out there on occasion, sometimes this is my wife's daily driver to work locally.  The mileage will change.  You can pick it up here and visit my horses and goats, they love Swedish Fish and Candy Corn, so you best bring some.

How Charlotte lost to Plano without even knowing it was dealing with Toyota

Thu, 08 May 2014

With Toyota set to relocate its North American headquarters to the Dallas, TX suburb of Plano following a top-secret, 100-city search, the cities that missed out can now begin asking themselves what happened during a process they apparently knew little about.
That's a particularly brutal task for Charlotte, which, according to North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce, Sharon Decker, finished second to Plano. While Toyota has been fairly open about what it was looking for in a new headquarters city - direct flights to Japan, proximity to its US production facilities, a lower cost of living, high-quality educational facilities and finding a neutral site suitable to the California, Kentucky and New York-based employees that would be relocated - it's been less open about how the finalist cities, which also included Atlanta and Denver, stacked up against each other.
The Charlotte Observer has a few ideas. Part of the problem is the distinct lack of direct flights between Charlotte and Asia. US Airways, which operates a hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, doesn't fly to Asia.

Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells

Sat, Jan 10 2015

Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.

Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.
