Paint nice and shiny. has Brand new 31x10.50 All terrain tires, recent brakes and shocks in the last year."

1999 Toyota 4Runner has a brand new 2.2 liter Kubota V-2203 direct injection engine installed. Has about 4k miles on the swap. Runs perfect, had a brand new automatic transmission replaced in the truck 10,000 miles before the swap was done, so has roughly 14,000 miles on the tranny now. *(I have 5 speed manual swap avail, see below)* The tranny has been modified to be shifted manually now. No, there is no clutch, it is still the new automatic trans, you just move the gear shifter from 1st, to 2nd, to D, then OD. Runs down the freeway at 70 mph and gets about 40+ miles a gallon. The best I've gotten from a tank was 49 miles a gallon. You can google Kubota V-2203 engine, you will see why I chose this of all options to choose for a good swap. It is used by John Deere, Bobcat,Carrier, Kohler Gensets...ect. They are a "Continuous Duty" engine built to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Everything on the engine is mechanical, the simplicity of these engines are fully responsible for how long they run.  They are typically pulled out of service on reefer trucks with over 30,000 hours of run time,  if you averaged 40 miles an hour of driving speed, thats almost 2 million miles of service!  From the manufacture, glow plugs are only required in sub artic conditions, negative -32 degrees.  There is a set on the head, installed and new, but never had power to them.  Last winter I started it at just below freezing after sitting all night long outside, and fired right up instantly, as if it were 90 degrees out. I do have listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.

***INCLUDED WITH BUY IT NOW***
I have a very nice 5 speed 4x4 factory Toyota transmission, with T-Case, pedal assy, slave cylinder, with slave master, interior center console trim, all with 45k miles on it, came from 3.4 V6. new bosch clutch kit with throw out bearing.  And if bought, and paid in full, will install free of charge, and will have it completed within 7 days of payment received, or I will just give you all of it, if you wanted to sell it, and keep it an automatic.   Probably worth $2k as a complete swap for someone looking.  Will also deliver to anywhere on the West 1/2 of the United States free of charge.  Feel free to email me with any ?'s at Craig.craig11@yahoo.com  These are the "Buy It Now" price only offers.  Thanks for looking,

The outside of the truck is in nice shape, paint shines up still really well.  interior is really nice, clean with small rip in drivers side seat seam. All lights, airbag system, new tires. 4x4 works. has aftermarket oil and boost gauge.  I'm going to get some videos up soon of driving in traffic so you can see how well it performs. The exhaust in the video sounds a lot louder than it really is in perfect.  Really quiet in the truck driving.

Tesla expects another higher-volume deal with Toyota in next few years

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Four months have passed since Toyota ended its relationship with Tesla Motors, in which the electric-vehicle specialist supplied full lithium-ion battery packs to the Japanese behemoth for its RAV4 EV rollout, of which 2,500 vehicles will be completed. Now, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has been heard suggesting that a future collaboration is likely within the next two to three years, and that it will probably be much larger than the last one.
Both Tesla and Toyota have sung each other's praises in the not-too-distant past, Toyota telling Autoblog back in May, "We have a good relationship with Tesla and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects." According to Automotive News, Musk said of the Japanese giant, "We love working with Toyota... We have a huge amount of respect for them as a company and certainly much to learn."
Interestingly, though, the two automakers have rather divergent strategies for eco-friendly automobiles. Toyota, as you're surely aware, is the clear-cut leader in hybrids and has thrown its massive support in the direction of hydrogen fuel cells, while Tesla has invested heavily in battery-electric technology and high-speed charging stations.

Toyota's Psy-style Waku-Doki ad inherits Japan's bizarre ad crown

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

A new Japanese Toyota ad featuring crisply suited businessmen driving into the jungle only to segue into a Psy-style music-video dance-off with a gorilla and natives is the latest car commercial to go viral. Jungle Wakudoki is the newest installment in a grand tradition of bizarre ads from the island nation that are by turns hilarious, head-scratching and occasionally even frightening.
Let's face it: My people are weird.
I'm half-Japanese and take suitable pride in my Asian roots, but even I can't figure out what's been slipped into the water coolers of the country's ad agencies much of the time - or the nation at large, for that matter. From Japan's ubiquitous obsession with all things adorable (kawaii) to its offbeat sense of humor and its bizarrely perverse and violent tentacle porn, it's clear there's a lot going on in the culture, and only some of it bubbles up to the surface in its marketing efforts. Much of the strangest and most amazing ads are for non-transportation products (e.g. laundry soap, snacks, energy drinks), but the automotive space has its fair share. This latest Toyota ad had me trawling YouTube for a common theme, trying to make sense of why these spots are the way they are. Scroll down to watch the Toyota ad in question as well as a bunch of other examples of Japan's most bizarre car-related ads and see if you can't find the thread that runs between them. Is it just that something's being lost in translation? Have your say in Comments.

Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell coming to US Northeast in 2016

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Looks like someone was able to read the future back in July. That's when rumors first circulated that Toyota's upcoming fuel cell vehicle will be called the Mirai. Today, Toyota president Akio Toyoda confirmed the name alongside plans to build out a hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the US Northeast.
In Japanese, mirai (??) means "future," which is a fitting name for a car that Toyota believes represents the direction the auto industry will go in the coming years. In a promotional video announcing the name, Toyoda said, "For [Toyota], this isn't just another car. This is an opportunity - an opportunity to really make a difference. And making a difference is what Toyota is all about."
To help that future come into existence, Toyota CEO Jim Lentz also disclosed the vague outline of a fuel cell infrastructure investment that Toyota and partner Air Liquide will make in a five-state Northeastern corridor that consists of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. The Mirai will be available there in 2015 and Toyota is going to build 12 stations in and around New York and Boston to support the launch. More details will be available later.
