1990 Toyota 4runner Sr5 Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Campbellsville, Kentucky, United States
Up for bids is my chopped 4 runner. Interior is in awesome shape for the year, no rips or tears, just starting to wear in driver seat, all power windows work along with locks.. 4wd works perfectly, shifts as it should, motor runs strong. Tires are 75%, nice wheels. rearis chopped and rear end has been bobbed for extra clearance. In the last 10,000 miles it has had new harmonic balancer, timing belt (didn't break just changed), water pump, valve cover gaskets, power steering pump and power steering gear box rebuilt, always had oil changed, never been abused, not a mud truck. it used to have a sunroof, it was cracked and didn't open so I took it out when I put top racks on. The truck has a small power steering hose leak, ita a high pressure hose, it occurred after the new pump was installed...it does not affect the operation what so ever.. It also leaves a drop of oil in driveway after each run...I think it from the sending unit but it has never gotten worse so I just haven't messed with it..It doesn't burn oil. This truck is for sale locally as well...will not ship...no reserve..This truck has tons of life left in it. would make an excellent start for a crawler project...ask questions before bidding, I will answer asap. Thanks. |

Toyota reveals new customizable Camatte57s kid-friendly concepts
Tue, 11 Jun 2013Toyota plans to follow up last year's kid-friendly Camatte concept with two new versions: the Camatte57s and Camatte57s Sport (right). Like the original Camatte, the two new concepts will make their debut at the International Tokyo Toy Show, which is happening this weekend.
Not much has changed with these two new Camatte models. Like their predecessor, they both feature detachable body panels (the count is up to 57), a 1+2 seating array and reconfigurable pedals that allow children to operate the gas and brakes while Mom or Dad steers. What is new is an open-top roadster design that even eschews doors in favor of easier ingress/egress. They look like something a tourist would rent to get around a Hawaiian island, though we dig the distinct personalities of each model's design.
Both cars are all-electric, though Toyota hasn't provided any other specifications, like what makes the Sport model sporty besides its more aggressive body panels and silver, black and red color scheme. That's just as well, as neither concept, like the original Camatte before them, is street legal.

Tue, 30 Jul 2013Raising A White Flag To The Competition
We all benefit from highly competitive battles. In the automotive sector, few campaigns are so closely fought as the decades-long struggle for supremacy in the fullsize half-ton pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 has dominated for ages, but Chevrolet, Ram and GMC have been closing the gap with freshly redesigned trucks that are rocking the industry.
Today's half-ton trucks are better than they've ever been, and we have fierce competition to thank for that.
Hyundai tops Toyota in annual CarMD Vehicle Health Index
Fri, 06 Dec 2013CarMD has released its third annual Vehicle Health Index, which for the 2013 tracked the frequency and cost of repairs for "check engine" problems of 119-million vehicles built between the 2003 and 2013 model years. For the first two years of the index, Toyota ranked at the top of the list, but this year's results see Hyundai moved to number one, pushing Toyota down a spot.
The Korean automaker's rise to the top has been "fueled by its low repair frequency," according to CarMD. Toyota is second to Hyundai in lowest repair frequency, but Toyotas also have the highest average cost of repair. (Interestingly, General Motors vehicles have the lowest average.) Both Toyota's and Hyundai's manufacturer "health" ratings suffered this year, but Toyota took a bigger hit, which also is what helped Hyundai achieve the top ranking.
While Hyundai is the top manufacturer in the index, the 2012 Toyota Camry is the top vehicle. The best-ranking Hyundai was the 2010 Elantra (behind three Nissan models and four Toyotas), which took the number eight spot. Hyundai has six other vehicles in the top 100.
