This 4runner has lived it's entire life in Arizona an as you can see by the drivetrain photos. It has never been driven in snow or in any salty condition. Not a speck of rust anywhere on the vehicle.

It runs and drives absolutely perfect and I purchased it for my daily driver. I'm only selling because my job is transferring me to Hawaii and It's very costly to ship vehicles each way. I have looked for a 4runner this solid for years and had intentions of never selling it but my job is forcing me to.
It is equipped with the factory digital cassette player, power antenna, cruise control, split rear folding seats, power mirrors A/C with rear A/C and heater controls for the passengers, power windows, tilt steering, Inclometer/altimeter gauge on the dash, 4wd with lock outs, Automatic transmission and after market 18" wheels and tires.
This SR5 4Runner has every available option that they came with in 1988.
Everything works just as it did when it was new.
The top is removable but I have never taken it off. The previous owner had it repainted due to sun fade and provided me with pictures right before he did to show me that it had zero rust and body damage. It's a $2000 not a $10,000 paint job but it's fine for a daily driver.
I assure you that you will be able to drive this truck everywhere and anywhere with no mechanical issues. No leaks of any kind and it uses no fluid of any kind. It really is a great truck and very, very mechanically sound.

NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.

Experience the New York Auto Show by drone

Fri, Apr 10 2015

The Autoblog team recently returned from wildly running around the Javits Center to cover all the news and debuts at the New York Auto Show. Sometimes, it's nice to take a more serene look at the exhibition floor, though, and the event's organizers are providing that exact opportunity by flying a drone through the hall. Combined with the down-tempo music, this clip feels like a form of automotive meditation. If you're going to miss the show in the Big Apple, the drone also provides a good overview at the exhibition floor, especially at the stands from Lexus, Buick, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW. Plus, it's a fun way to see some vehicles from a completely different angle than they ever appear on the road. Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.
