This is an extremely well kept vehicle. The Autocheck report shows 0 accidents and 2 owners. The vehicle has always been here in South Florida. The engine is showroom clean. The transmission fluid is very clean and it was when I received the vehicle! The ride and drive on this vehicle is just fantastic. This vehicle was built in Japan and the quality is unsurpassed by any other S.U.V., at any price. ( Including the Range Rover ) It is obvious this 4-Runner has been maintained very well. The engine compartment is just so clean. All services are up-to-date. I just don't know how someone can keep a car with this mileage, so nice. No kids and no pets I am sure. The interior is the same, very...very clean. The carpet looks very close to new. What a pleasure to drive. The alloy/aluminum wheels do not have any flaws. This vehicle has the power driver seat and the power passenger seat. The drivers seat has the power lumbar feature. It has the moonroof. The electronic controls for the 4-wheel drive. This vehicle has factory floor mats and they are in very good condition. Again this is the V-8 4-wheel drive with the sport package. Leather, roof, power seats both sides. The list of features is extensive, so please ask if you have a question. This vehicle has a few scratches on the right rear quarter panel (minor) and the small dent ( in the picture ) of the passenger front door. The tires are just ok. They are really just not nice enough for this vehicle but they have some life left in them. You could drive this car back to N.Y. or wherever with them. I do not usually speak so highly of my vehicles, but this vehicle deserves it. It rides and drives like a new one. I have no idea how someone can drive a vehicle this far and keep it in this condition. Most of our clients want to see the car before they finalize the purchase and that's O.K. I suggest a small deposit and pay the balance when you are satisfied with the vehicle. Many clients fly into PBI airport which is 10-15 minutes from our office. Our feedback is 100% positive and we are working hard to keep it that way. Any questions to be answered directly and correctly. More pics...just ask. This is a serious opportunity to own a 2008 top-of-the line 4-Runner at an extreme value. Automotive Retention Systems is licensed, insured and bonded dealer in palm beach county, Florida. Our vehicles are available to see and drive by appointment. My name is Rick Upton and my cell is 561-201-6050 An opening bid buys this vehicle unless outbid or someone buys it with the buy now feature. Thanks!

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
Toyota struggling in Latin American market, attempting recovery
Fri, 30 Aug 2013With uncertainty in the US and Chinese markets, automakers are scrambling to rev up their efforts in what were traditionally secondary markets. Take Toyota's efforts in Latin America. A recent story from The Wall Street Journal highlights the Japanese brand's push in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Brazil, where it has expanded its operations and installed new executives with a greater range of powers, all in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the ever-growing South American pie.
South America is dominated by General Motors, Fiat and Volkswagen, which maintain a combined 60 percent of the market share - Toyota holds a mere 4.5 percent. The WSJ spoke with Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's boss in Latin America, who said, "We are playing catch up, but we're catching up fast. We now have the resources to give the region the attention it really needs and deserves."
That attention includes an all-new, locally produced small car called the Etios. As bewildering as it seems, Toyota wasn't competing in the low-cost economy car market in South America. With the Etios, which arrived in September of 2012, its sales in the first seven months of 2013 are up 75 percent.
Despite slow sales, no new Scion models in near-term pipeline [w/poll]
Mon, 09 Sep 2013According to a top Toyota executive, the Japanese automaker will not be introducing any fresh Scion models in the near future, Reuters reports. As of August, Scion sales for this year were down 1.6 percent from 2012 and accounted for only 0.3 percent of Toyota's overall US sales. And last month, Toyota Motor Sales USA Senior Vice President Bob Carter informed the 1,000 dealers who carry Scion that they can drop the brand without penalty.
However, never fear - Carter has assured that, while nothing new is coming for at least six months, the company is still very committed to the quirky Scion brand. Toyota launched Scion, which targets the youth market, in 2003, and sales peaked in 2006. The brand currently has five models, with the 2013 best-sellers being the FR-S sports coupe followed by the tC sedan and xB hatchback.
What do you think about Toyota's decision to hold off on introducing new or refreshed Scion models? Are they heading in the right direction, or does this spell doom for the funky Gen Y brand?
