2006 Toyota 4runner Sport Edition on 2040-cars
Stafford, Virginia, United States
This 2006 Toyota 4Runner is in great condition. I am the second owner and bought it with approximately 26,000 miles on it in 2007 from a local Toyota dealership. Since that time the vehicle has been driven about 7-8k miles a year. Vehicle has been well maintained with NO mechanical problems with it since I have owned it. I have rotated the tires every 5,000K miles and always used Moblie1 oil. Vehicle has new VA inspection and clean emissions (required in VA). Just replaced front brake pads, rotors, and calipers (about $700 worth). I have all the maintenance records since I have owned this vehicle. It has 265 70 R17 Goodyear Duractracs mounted on the stock wheels which were professionally painted black. The front windows are tinted to VA law at 50%. I have driven this vehicle out of state several times (over 400 miles at a time) with never any problems. 4WD and cruise control work great. The interior of the vehicle is very clean as I put rubber mats down over the stock carpet ones. The carpet interior is clean with no major stains. The vehicle has a couple scratches and dents which is typical for a vehicle of it's age. The CD player is broke but the radio works; stock radio. I am asking $18,995 and I will entertain reasonable offers but as you know 4Runners are extremely reliable and hold value. I'm not interested in any trade or low ball offers. This is a solid vehicle and it's hard to let go. Please contact me for further questions.

First live photos and impressions of Toyota's 2014 Corolla
Fri, 07 Jun 2013After releasing official pictures and a press release about an hour earlier, Toyota chose an aircraft hanger at the Santa Monica airport as the venue for the global introduction of its highly anticipated 2014 Corolla. Following an extended aerial acrobat show, which included performers running along the walls, swimmers romping in a massive overhead clear plastic pool and angry dancers destroying their cardboard stage in a glittery fit... the all-new C-segment star of the show was lowered on cables from the ceiling. (After the strobe lights and pounding sound that preceded it, the final vehicle reveal was almost anticlimactic.)
Face-to-face with the eleventh-generation sedan, we liked what we saw. Compared to last year's Corolla, the new model appears smaller in person - yet that is mostly an optical illusion. By the tape, it is four inches longer and slightly wider than its predecessor, but a bit shorter. The wheelbase has been stretched nearly four inches, yet the front and rear overhangs only give or take about an inch in the conversion. With the exception of the enormous wheel/fender gap (the new Corolla seems to ride too high), its overall proportions are very pleasing.
The fresh styling is modern and stylish, with sculpted lines that add character to a formerly bland sedan
Toyota i-Road is no less strange in the flesh
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We've seen plenty of three-wheeled creations in our day, but none quite like the Toyota i-Road Concept. The "personal mobility vehicle" offers seating for two with driver and passenger positioned in a tandem position. While that may sound more like a motorcycle than a car, the closed cockpit means riders don't need a helmet. The design also takes a page from the 2008 Peugeot HyMotion3 Concept with an articulating front suspension that allows the driver to lean through corners thanks to "Active Lean" self-balancing technology. Unlike the funky Pug, however, the i-Road is a fully electric plug-in vehicle.
While there are just five-horsepower on hand from an electric motor, the i-Road should serve up a range of around 30 miles thanks to its lithium-ion battery, and Toyota claims the cells can be topped off in three hours with a "conventional domestic power supply." Sounds majestic. Take in the full press release below.
Toyota donates engineers, not money, to country's largest anti-hunger charity
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Key to production of any kind is efficiency - the ability to achieve maximum productivity with minimal effort or waste. Toyota has become a master of efficiency, with streamlined manufacturing operations around the world. In fact, the Japanese brand has become so well known for efficient operations that it now offers consulting services for organizations and companies outside the auto industry.
It also offers the same consulting for non-profits, free of charge. The New York Times took an in-depth look at the transformative impact that Toyota's engineers had on the city's charities, including The Food Bank, the country's largest anti-hunger charity. The auto manufacturer helped revolutionize the way these organizations served the community, showing that there's more to corporate philanthropy than just donating money.
