1999 Toyota Hilux Surf (4runner)
Own your dream! A diesel Toyota 4runner! This vehicle was converted using the complete drivetrain from a 2000
Toyota Hilux Surf from Japan. It is the normal left hand drive for this country. It was previously registered in
Oregon. It now has 150k on diesel drivetrain. It only had 100K miles when converted. All of the maintenance has
been done on this vehicle including all new fluids, timing belt, water pump etc. This truck needs nothing except a
new owner!
The body and interior are very clean. Paint is almost a perfect ten! Everything works as normal including AC, CD,
cruise control, sun roof, electric antenna, CD player all power windows and door locks. This vehicle has a dual
mode 4WD system. You can switch to all wheel drive mode or locked 4WD mode. This 4runner is very rare because its a
5 speed manual. The diesel came this way from Japan which is also very rare, most all of them are automatic
transmission. It received a brand new clutch when the truck was converted. The truck shows 240k miles on the speedo
currently. This is not miles of the complete drivetrain but just the body and frame etc.
The front ARB bumper, Pro Comp rims and tires are only two years old! It has nice Bilstein adjustable struts up
front giving it a slight lift. The roof rack is also 2 years old. It has a Tow hitch and wiring.
This truck has great power and fuel economy. Its perfect for family's or someone who loves diesels and/or Toyota's,
or both! It runs great on Biodiesel because these trucks have no lift pump and a very good quality fuel filter. I
have receipts on all the work that has been performed by Import Performance, Inc. in Bend, Oregon. This truck was
built for 30 grand! Please e-mail for questions.

How the demise of Lincoln's Town Car has kick-started a limo revolution
Sun, 30 Dec 2012The deaths of the Ford Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Town Car have meant overhauls of three high-profile American fleets: police, taxi and livery car. Just as police fleets are more open to considering other options and a Nissan van is the new face of the NYC taxi, livery car companies are looking at replacements for the Town Car beyond The Blue Oval. Ford, via Lincoln, has made an MKT Town Car (pictured), but an article in the Detroit News claims "it has failed to win over most of the big limousine companies." The upstarts trying to move in include livery and limo editions of the Cadillac XTS, and livery specifications of the Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300.
Each of those challengers, however, faces challenges. The Town Car was a workhorse, American, rear-wheel-drive sedan with plenty of rear legroom. Cadillac has been in the livery space before but with decontented models that were about selling the brand, not its luxury. It is taking the opposite approach with the XTS, pointing out that its livery edition is "contented in the upper half of the XTS range." Still, the CEO of Michigan's largest livery company says "it's quite a bit smaller than what we're used to," and he also prefers rear-wheel drive.
The Chrysler 300 is rear-wheel drive, and American, which matters to some companies, but Chrysler hasn't yet revealed the livery package for it. The livery Avalon marks Toyota's first time getting into that business in the US, a natural step after having done so well with taxi clients and with the Town Car out of the way. Still, the livery client is a different to taxi buyers, so the Avalon could face other soft-touch hurdles.
Toyota GT86 CS-R3 ready to rally
Mon, Jan 26 2015Toyota is returning to the rally scene with the competition-spec version of the GT86. First announced over a year ago, the GT86 CS-R3 began testing this past summer, and is now just about ready for customer deliveries. Instead of contesting the top tier of the World Rally Championship, the GT86 CS-R3 was designed to compete in the R3 class. It's closely based on the road-going model (better known around these parts as the Scion FR-S), and retains its 2.0-liter boxer four, sending 238 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque through a Drenth six-speed sequential gearbox and limited slip differential to the rear wheels. Available in either tarmac or gravel specification, the GT86 CS-R3 comes complete with "body shell, powertrain and all mechanical components required to build the car." It's set to undergo final FIA certification in July, at which point it'll be ready to deliver to privateer rally teams to field in national and international rallies and in the HJS TMG CS-R3 Trophy that kicks off in Germany on July 4. The package sells for ˆ84,000 ($94k at today's rates) before taxes, but customers who place their orders before April 24 will get a ˆ5k discount. Related Video: 23 Jan 2015 GT86 CS-R3 NEARS COMPETITIVE DEBUT TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH is pleased to confirm the final details of the rear-wheel-drive GT86 CS-R3 rally car, which will make its competitive debut this year. Cologne, Germany - The CS-R3 prototype was launched last August and since then has completed an extensive test programme to optimise design and define the final specification of the kit which will be delivered to private competitors and teams. Detailed development has generated improved performance on both gravel and tarmac, while reliability and durability have been prioritised in order to deliver a car which allows cost-effective competition throughout the season and beyond. The CS-R3 has already proved immensely popular thanks to its rear-wheel drive powertrain, with 1,998cc, 238hp boxer engine and six-speed sequential transmission which combine to produce a spectacular driving experience. The first cars will be delivered to customers in May, later than originally forecast to allow improvements highlighted during testing to be implemented. As a consequence TMG has extended its introductory discount.
