1955 Ford Country Sedan. This has a bit of a rad rod look on the mostly original exterior. Lowered in the front with modern disc brakes and 2 chamber master cylinder (not power). Explorer mag wheels. Had to list "OEM" options in the listing, but real specs - Mild 302 with aluminum intake and new 600 Holley. 1980's style SROD 4 speed overdrive floor shift. 9" rear end. All new 12v harness, bulbs, etc. heating system redone (original). All correct dash. Extra parts included - Radio, clock, trim, misc.  Originally a V-8 car, 3 on the tree.

Most everything about this car is stock or stock appearance. Slight lowering gives the car a great look. Smooth riding and drives easy. Overdrive allows for highway driving at very comfortable revs. All around great ride that really turns heads. Interior side panels need to be redone. Modern radio head unit installed with bluetooth hidden under seat with custom steering wheel type controls to the One-Year-Only round dash radio (must experience, cool feature done myself - details included with car). Extra original Radio included. Extra clock included.  Has a few things that need attention but it's a driving project car. You can get in and drive it home. Everyone stops to look!

Changing interests and just too many projects puts this one for sale.  Hate to sell - It's a Fun Car!  For Sale locally, I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.  Email with any questions or to talk on the phone.  Clear title, running and driving, Sold AS IS.

A few people have obviously asked about rust, underneath, engine bay, Etc.  Email me and I can send more pictures of the car or parts of it.  Additional info:
- Small gas leak near the tank needs to be tended too.  It's a brand new tank, I think it is the line, but unconfirmed.  Time permitting will try to fix.
- Rear passenger floors have glass cloth repairs on the lowest portions of the floors.  They feel solid under foot, but would want attention at some point.
- Front floors have had some small spot repairs.  Again, not soft under foot anywhere.
- Front drivers rocker has 2 small holes, but nothing else through any where.  Appear pretty solid.
- Lower tailgate has some rust and was partially repaired.
- This car was Pennsylvania State inspected expiring 7/13 when I got it in late 2012.  I put antiques on it which don't require inspection so it wasn't reinspected.
- The speedo gear in the (modern) trans is loose on the shaft so the speedo isn't currently working.  You have to take off the tailshaft housing to fix so while apart I was going to rebuild the transmission.  I never got to taking it out and working on it, but I did get a new full transmission rebuild kit with bearings and syncros which is included with the car.
- There is also a NEW set of air shocks for the rear end purchased a few months ago, but never installed included.

Any other questions, just let me know.  Thanks!

Japan's Suzuki, SkyDrive sign deal to develop, market 'flying cars'

Tue, Mar 22 2022

TOKYO — Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor Corp and 'flying car' firm SkyDrive Inc said on Tuesday they have signed a deal to team up in research, development and marketing of electric, vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. In a joint statement, the two companies said they will also work to open up new markets with an initial focus on India, where Suzuki has a roughly half share of the auto market. Suzuki announced on Sunday it plans to invest 104.4 billion rupees ($1.37 billion) in its India factory to produce electric vehicles and batteries. The companies didn't disclose details of investments in their partnership, nor outline any production timetable or target. Founded in 2018, Tokyo-headquartered SkyDrive counts big Japan businesses like trading house Itochu Corp, tech firm NEC Corp and a unit of energy company Eneos Holdings Inc among its main shareholders. In 2020 it raised 5.1 billion yen ($42 million) in total in Series B funds, according to its website. SkyDrive is currently engaged in the development of a compact, two-seating electric-powered flying car with plans for full-scale production. The statement did not say whether Suzuki would be working on this specific vehicle. The company, which is also developing cargo drones, aims to launch a 'flying car' service in Osaka in 2025 when the Japanese city hosts the World Expo. For Suzuki, the partnership will add 'flying cars' as a fourth mobility business, in addition to automobiles, motorcycles and outboard motors, the statement said. 2019 Suzuki Jimny First Drive Review | Internet darling, real-world riot

Thu, Sep 27 2018

FRANKFURT — Imagine a Mercedes G-Wagen hit with an incredible shrinking ray, and you'll not be far short of the new fouth-generation Suzuki Jimny, last sold in North America in the mid-1990s as the Samurai. The resemblance is astonishing, but there's enough of the Land Rover Defender, Toyota FJ, Honda Element and Jeep Wrangler in there, too, to keep Merc's copyright lawyers sitting on their hands. Cute as a family of otters in your bath, the new Jimny's proving the social-media hit of the fall, with online fan clubs starting, splintering and re-forming as they argue over which of the six new body colors is their favorite. Yet Jimny's no style pony. That lime green 'Kinetic Yellow' color might be the ultimate urban accessory, but it's formulated to make this tiny utility stand out in bad weather and on building sites. And in a world of fragile multi-clutch-based all-wheel-drive crossovers, Jimny is the real deal: body-on-frame construction, coil-sprung solid axles with three-link location at the rear and a panhard rod at the front, and a transfer-box set of crawler gears. And with entry, exit and breakover angles and ground clearance to rival that of a mountain ibex; this is a proper all-terrain automobile, just at five-eighths scale. It all started of course with Hope: the Japanese Hope Motor Company. Its OM360 was a 1960s Lilliputian take on the World War II Willys MB Jeep. Suzuki bought the design from Hope, and relaunched it with a new engine in 1970 as the first Jimny. Through three generations and 48 years, Jimny's been called variously: SJ; LJ; Farm Worker; Samurai; Gypsy; and Sierra. It's been rebadged as a Mazda and a Maruti, and has sold a total of 2.85 million across 194 countries, including at one time America, though the company pulled out of the U.S. car market in 2012. The outgoing third-generation Jimny had lost its way with a bland, wind-cheating design. The new Jimny is back to basics. Shortened by 1.2 inches, it's now 143.5 inches long, 64.8 inches wide, 67.9 inches high and runs on an 88.6-inch wheelbase. These bonsai dimensions are dictated by the Japanese Kei car, a size and taxation class aimed at tight urban spaces. The new car also gets a stronger, cross-braced ladder frame under the separate body isolated on eight rubber bobbins.

Meet the Jeep Wrangler's tiny Japanese doppelganger, the Suzuki Jimny

Wed, Aug 23 2017

We're all eagerly anticipating the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, but it's not the only two-door, body-on-frame off-roader coming out in the near future. Suzuki has its own on the way by the name of Jimny (no, that's not a typo). Long ago, we received the Jimny here in the United States as the eminently capable, though tipsy, Samurai. The Samurai was followed here by the more civilized Sidekick/Tracker, which eventually took on its original name of Vitara. But overseas, the rugged, truck-like Samurai survived as the Jimny. This newest version looks to retain much of its predecessors' capability. In addition to the body-on-frame chassis, it features a solid rear axle. Odds are that it will continue to offer a part-time four-wheel-drive system with a low-range, as with the current one. We can't quite tell if it will still have a solid front axle, though. Styling-wise, the new Jimny does seem to have tougher, chunkier looks than the current one, pictured above. The corners have been squared up, and hard creases added to the flanks. The wheel wells are now more square and look to have bigger flares. We're also noticing some retro touches such as the roof that isn't flush with the rest of the body. The taillights mounted in the rear bumper are also reminiscent of the old Samurai. As nifty as the little Jimny is, we can safely say that we won't be getting it here — Suzuki doesn't sell cars here anymore. But even if Suzuki were still operating in the U.S., we probably wouldn't get the Jimny. It would probably be too crude for most buyers, and it could be tricky to get it to pass safety regulations. Its tall, narrow shape also could be rollover prone, and Suzuki wouldn't want to go through another rollover controversy. But hey, in roughly 25 years, you can import one of these if you really want.
