This is a Suzuki SJ410 LWB.  It is a Canadian 1985 model, as the LWB was not sold in the USA. All import papers come with the truck, and it has a clear Mississippi title.  It has been off the road in covered storage for 9 of the last 11 years, and sat in my driveway for the last two. The odometer cable is not connected, so that while the odometer reads 97000km, it is almost certainly substantially more.  Body in good condition. Interior floor does have 1 small dime size hole drivers side and 1 hole drivers side rear bed 2" x 2". Windshield frame shows bubbles of rust at frame bottom. Checker plate in rear side panels and tall gate. Full carpet, tilt rear seat, safe box under passenger seat . Flip down front windshield and removable doors. It also has a factory installed block heater that works. Am\fm cassette with amp rear gate speakers.  Rims and tires off F150, custom front bumper, 2" trailer hitch.  Old wheels will ship with vehicle. Needs new battery.

The car has a new Rally Top that was professionally installed and cost $1600.  I was going to restore this little truck but just haven't the time any more, so it needs to go to a good home :)

Vehicle is located in Natchez, MS.  Buyer responsible for arranging pick-up.

Suzuki Jimny displays Samurai spirit in Japanese snowstorm

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Say what you will about its smallest SUVs, but you have to hand it to Suzuki: the likes of the Samurai, Sidekick and Vitara were doing the little-sport-ute-that-could thing long before most of the rest of the industry caught on. And the formula remains relevant enough that Suzuki is still selling the same basic Samurai overseas as the Jimny.
That could be why the Samurai still has something of a cult following. Well, that and the name - which, as it turns out, may not have been such a stretch after all. A Samurai warrior, after all, was just one man - but like any other knight, he was worth more than his headcount on the battlefield. Or in this case, a Japanese snowstorm. Just watch the half-minute video below to see what we mean.

Land-speed racer Bill Warner dies from motorcycle crash at 285 MPH

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Motorcycle land-speed record holder Bill Warner died yesterday after crashing during an attempt at setting another record. The 44-year-old was clocked at 285 miles per hour on the runway of a former air base in northern Maine, before he lost control of his modified Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle and veered off the runway.
It is not known what speed he was traveling when things started to go wrong and unclear what caused the crash, which happened shortly before 10:00 AM. Warner's crew suspect there were mechanical difficulties on his last run, in addition to a slight breeze, according to the video news report. Warner was conscious and able to speak after the crash but died an hour and 15 minutes later at a hospital in Caribou. The event and runway were closed for the rest of the day as police investigated the incident.
Warner was participating in "The Maine Event" at Loring Air Force Base in an attempt to reach 300 mph in one mile. Warner's best land-speed record, set in 2011, was 311.945 mph in 1.5 miles on the same runway, according to the Loring Timing Association, a record that still stands today for open-cockpit motorcycles. After that run, Warner said the scariest part was stopping the bike before the end of the runway. Be sure to check out the video news report after the jump.

Suzuki sallies forth with new C-segment crossover with fishy S-Cross Concept

Thu, 27 Sep 2012

It's not what we'd call attractive, really, but at least the new S-Cross Concept is something fresh from Suzuki. Introduced to the world at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Suzuki says the pale green machine previews its upcoming production C-segment crossover.
We hope some of its fishier elements - according to Suzie, the specially created Crystal Green Metallic body color evokes "nature in the city and the city in nature", whatever that means - remain in the conceptual pond, but either way, it's good to see that the Japanese automaker hasn't lost its will to compete in a heated segment of the market. In fact, Suzuki promises that the S-Cross "will be the first in an ambitious program of annual European model launches which Suzuki will be starting in 2013. "
What are the chances we'll see a production version of this crossover concept in the U.S.? Your Magic 8 Ball is as good as ours... In any case, feel free to peruse the press release below.
