1998 Suzuki Samurai on 2040-cars
Marthasville, Missouri, United States
Send me questions at : AliciaWinford5n1@yahoo.com Here is your chance to own the nicest Suzuki Samurai ever built. This is a noexpense spared, way over the top Samurai that gets attention everywhere it goes. The Samurai was built from 2005 to 2007 and won World of Wheels in 2007 and2008. It is still in the same pristine condition today as it was then and I havedriven it every month or so and a smile cant leave your face when your behindthe wheel. The only thing I have done is just rebuilt the carb and I put new andmore streetable tires and wheels on it for an updated looks. It was built withchrome wheels and super swamper boggers but they had terrible street manners soI put 15x12 Mickey Thompsons and 35" General Grabber Red Letter $$$$ tires on tolook great and provide a very streetable drive. The Samurai needs NOTHING, itstarts, runs, drives, steers and brakes better than a new one and can ber drivenanywhere around town. Now it will drive on the highway and I have done it a few15 mile trips, but anyone who has driven a big samurai with 35" tires on thehighway knows its not a lot of fun. But around town its great. Below is a listof modifications and I have 2 custom binders full of build pictures andreciepts. Again this car has world class paint on it, ZERO rust except a fewchrome pieces on bumper and dress up items underneath have some surface rust, Iwas going to powder coat them. Interior is Full custom as well and in NEw shape, everything works except the fuel gauge is not reliable so I fill up everytime Idrive

Are orphan cars better deals?
Wed, Dec 30 2015Most folks don't know a Saturn Aura from an Oldsmobile Aurora. Those of you who are immersed in the labyrinth of automobilia know that both cars were testaments to the mediocrity that was pre-bankruptcy General Motors, and that both brands are now long gone. But everybody else? Not so much. By the same token, there are some excellent cars and trucks that don't raise an eyebrow simply because they were sold under brands that are no longer being marketed. Orphan brands no longer get any marketing love, and because of that they can be alarmingly cheap. Case in point, take a look at how a 2010 Saturn Outlook compares with its siblings, the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. According to the Manheim Market Report, the Saturn will sell at a wholesale auto auction for around $3,500 less than the comparably equipped Buick or GMC. Part of the reason for this price gap is that most large independent dealerships, such as Carmax, make it a point to avoid buying cars with orphaned badges. Right now if you go to Carmax's site, you'll find that there are more models from Toyota's Scion sub-brand than Mercury, Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, and Saturn combined. This despite the fact that these brands collectively sold in the millions over the last ten years while Scion has rarely been able to realize a six-figure annual sales figure for most of its history. That is the brutal truth of today's car market. When the chips are down, used-car shoppers are nearly as conservative as their new-car-buying counterparts. Unfamiliarity breeds contempt. Contempt leads to fear. Fear leads to anger, and pretty soon you wind up with an older, beat-up Mazda MX-5 in your driveway instead of looking up a newer Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky. There are tons of other reasons why orphan cars have trouble selling in today's market. Worries about the cost of repair and the availability of parts hang over the industry's lost toys like a cloud of dust over Pigpen. Yet any common diagnostic repair database, such as Alldata, will have a complete framework for your car's repair and maintenance, and everyone from junkyards to auto parts stores to eBay and Amazon stock tens of thousands of parts. This makes some orphan cars mindblowingly awesome deals if you're willing to shop in the bargain bins of the used-car market. Consider a Suzuki Kizashi with a manual transmission. No, really.
Suzuki previews Crosshiker, X-Lander, Hustler ahead of Tokyo
Tue, 29 Oct 2013With the Tokyo Motor Show looming on the horizon, Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars it will present at the expo.
First up is the Crosshiker concept, a compact crossover that looks good enough in metallic red, but in its essence reminds us of the oft-maligned X-90 convertible crossover coupe. Based on the G70/Regina concept, the Crosshiker packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine into a compact form that weighs just 1,785 pounds.
Next comes the X-Lander, which strikes us as a smaller take on the formula espoused by the Isuzu VX-02 or Land Rover DC100 Sport concepts. Unfortunately based on the Jimny, the white X-Lander incorporates a 1.3-liter engine with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.
Suzuki heads rolling over fuel economy scandal
Wed, Jun 8 2016Suzuki Motor Corporation executives admitted last month that the company had been falsifying fuel-economy tests for some of its vehicles. Today, it was announced that chairman Osamu Suzuki will not become CEO and executive vice president Osamu Honda will step down from his position at the next shareholder meeting, which takes place June 29. Executive bonuses for 2015 will also be eliminated or cut in half. The company is also promising to change its corporate culture so as to allow whistle blowers to get their messages heard. "Suzuki has a top-down culture and it's been difficult for voices from lower down to go to the management," Toshihiro Suzuki (Osamu's son) told reporters, according to Bloomberg. Both Suzuki family members will take a pay cut for the last half of 2016 (Osamu at 40 percent, Toshihiro at 30). Over 2 million Suzuki vehicles were involved in the fuel economy fakery. Japan's transport ministry is taking a closer look at company-submitted data after Mitsubishi and then Suzuki were found to have misled regulators and the public.
