1987 Suzuki Samurai 17k Miles One Owner on 2040-cars
Lansing, Michigan, United States
Vehicle Title:Clear
Make: Suzuki
Drive Type: 4WD
Model: Samurai
Mileage: 17,412
Trim: Standard
As the title says, this is a 1987 Samurai with 17K original, one owner miles. The vehicle spent the majority of its life in Florida until three years ago when it was shipped to Michigan. It has NOT been exposed to Michigan winters. The Samurai drives like one would expect of a 17K mile vehicle. The engine runs perfectly with zero issues. The four wheel drive, including the manual lockouts, function as they should with zero issues. The truck is completely rust free with exception of a quarter size bubble in the bed area. Again, this is a bubble and not rusted through. Everything is original on the truck except the tires and the top. Even the brakes are original! The only known issue is the heater blower stopped working a couple weeks ago. I have not had time to diagnose the problem. It is a strong possibility that the blower motor will be repaired before the auction ends. The Suzuki has seen minimal trail riding (nothing close to extreme or abusive) and therefore does have fine scratches here and there. Also, the tailgate somehow got tweaked and when closed the bottom sticks out about a half inch. It still latches securely without any play.
This truck is ready to make a trip anywhere without worry. At 30+ MPG, this is great economical fun! If you would like to see specific pictures please let me know and I will do my best to get them to you within 24 hours. Please remember that bidding is legally binding. If needed, please ask your significant other before bidding. A $250 deposit is due within 12 hours of the close of the auction with the remainder due at pickup with a certified check from a reputable bank or cash. If you would like to speak in person please give me a call at (517)214-6688. Bid high, bid often, and happy bidding!

Suzuki could disappear from new car market quickly thanks to low inventory
Tue, 06 Nov 2012Yesterday's announcement that American Suzuki has filed for bankruptcy is all but a death blow for the Japanese automaker's 246 US dealers, but if there's any good news coming out of the situation, it could be the fact that the whole process will likely be quick and painless rather than drawn out. WardsAuto is reporting that with the current inventory and average sales numbers so far this year, there figures to be about three months left for Suzuki's new-car business in the US given current sales rates.
In October, Suzuki sold 2,023 units - a five percent increase over last year - but with just 5,549 left in inventory, it shouldn't take too long to wind down operations. Sales for the brand peaked 2007 with more than 100,000 units sold, but this year, Suzuki is barely on pace to reach a quarter of that amount, with just 21,188 units sold so far in 2012. In addition to poor sales, WardsAuto also notes that Suzuki faced problems due to its reliance on customers with subprime credit.
Suzuki will continue to sell motorcycles, ATVs and marine engines in the US, while the brand's cars will still be on sale in other countries including Canada and Mexico.
Suzuki recalling 184k GM-built models for fire risk
Fri, 23 May 2014Suzuki is recalling 184,244 total units of the 2004-2008 Forenza (pictured above) and 2005-2008 Reno manufactured under contract by Daewoo, now General Motors Korea, between September 1, 2003, through July 30, 2008, for a risk of fire. The exact split in terms of number of each model isn't available yet.
In the vehicles, the heat generated in the headlight switch or daytime running light module could cause the parts to melt and cause a fire. If this sounds somewhat familiar, it's the same reason that 218,000 units of the 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo are being recalled. According to General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler: "It's the same issue."
Adler explained that as the contracted manufacturer, GM is responsible for finding a remedy to this problem and providing it to Suzuki. It's a similar situation as Toyota recalling the Matrix and giving the automaker the repair parts to fix the Pontiac Vibe, which shares the platform.
Suzuki previews new S-Cross compact CUV ahead of Paris debut
Fri, 10 Aug 2012Despite having one heck of a lackluster presence here in the United States, Suzuki still manages to do well in other markets. That in mind, the automaker continually releases new products and concept cars at international auto shows that aren't destined for U.S. consumption, but this might not be one of those times.
The aging SX4 crossover is in need of replacement, and if Suzuki is still committed to selling passenger cars in the States, something fresh like this S-Cross concept could be just the ticket. Suzuki has, after all, confirmed that the S-Cross will eventually make its way into production.
We have no other details to divulge about the S-Cross, except that it's a small crossover concept and that it will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September. Suzuki says that the S-Cross has a "Emotion x Quality x Aerodynamics" design theme that uses "distinctive dynamic lines that start on the front bumper, sweep across the doors, and continue to the rear of the body." No offense, Suzuki, but we've heard that before.
