NO RESERVE, min. bid $7400.  If you bid you are committing to PURCHASE this vehicle. $500 deposit due within 48 hours after close of auction and full payment within 7 days. I will not ship but will make available for pickup. It has a tow bar and wiring so it can be towed anywhere or you can drive it anywhere. (I drove it from San Diego to Minnesota when I bought it)

NO TRADES, WILL NOT SELL PARTS, and will not sell outside of the ebay auction.

I purchased this rare 1986 tin top Samurai in 2008 from a close friend in San Diego.  He used it to tow behind his motorhome.  Since I have owned it I have stored it in an enclosed trailer from Oct.-April every year.  It's never seen snow.  It is rust free with the exception of the surface spots shown in the pics. It is 90% stock and original.   The only modifications are a new exhaust, new door straps, add-a-leaf springs on all four corners (easily removed if you want)  to give about an inch and a half of lift to allow for the five brand new BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A 215/75-15 tires, which are a bit taller than stock,  the carb vent tube, the tow brackets and wiring, and new window channel rubber. Everything else is original including the mud flaps, trailer hitch etc.

It runs great, the interior is good,   the seats are good with the exception of the vinyl split on the drivers seat back. They need to be cleaned!  If selling price exceeds $7500 I will include a grey fabric Rugged Ridge Samurai seat !!

Everything works, the carpet is like new, 4x4 works flawlessly. The body is straight and correct.  Fan has all speeds, intermittent wipers work, radio works, clock works, etc.

INCLUDES Suzuki SHOP MANUALS and VEHICLE COVER ! !   Also includes many extra little parts, wiper blades, spare door mirror(new)  cubby hole door, and other misc. stuff. (I might have air and oil filters around too, but no promises)  The tow bar attaches in minutes, and it's wired so all you do is plug it in to your vehicle trailer plug and then the rear lights, turn signals, etc work along with your vehicle lights.

The paint has faded in spots, see the pics, it is worn off on the driver's side interior at the base of the window (where your arm hangs out in the summer!) the paint on the top of the bumper is faded, and the paint under the rear door lock is flawed.  There are a couple small dings on the passenger side of the hood apparently from the roof rack bracket contacting it when it was lifted into place.  The stripes are cracking in spots from the sun.

If you have any questions, please ask BEFORE bidding.

Suzuki design chief discusses Tokyo e-Survivor SUV concept

Tue, Nov 7 2017

Underdog Suzuki is one of the more mysterious Japanese brands. Rarely talked about, or indeed self-promoted, it quietly sold nearly 3 million vehicles worldwide in 2016 (alongside sister brand Maruti), and Suzuki has made some intriguingly original cars in recent years. Take the cute-but-tough Ignis city car SUV or the boxy-but-compact Hustler minivan, plus quite a few more. Autoblog took the chance to catch up with the automaker's relatively new head of design, Akira Kamio, at the recent 2017 Tokyo Motor Show to discuss Suzuki latest e-Survivor SUV Concept, plus his personal inspirations. The 54-year-old Kamio – whose design back catalog includes the concept and production Splash city car and second-generation Vitara small SUV, among others – says the beach-buggy-on-steroids show car "imagines a 2030 autonomous car with electric motors within each wheel on a ladder frame." That's a long way out in conceptual terms, as some of the vehicle's futuristic details suggest – rim sections that change color from green to blue according to mode aren't strictly necessary – but there is solid functional thinking to some of its more outlandish elements. Case in point, the see-through doors – long a staple of concept-car design from Italian masters such as Giugiaro and others – have been rendered here in a forward-thinking way. "When in autonomous mode the door glass goes opaque for privacy," Kamio said. "But when in off-road mode, the door glass automatically clears again so the driver can see the obstacles around it to help maneuver over rough terrain. This feature works on the model; it's a serious concept." As to the most relevant element of the e-Survivor's design for nearer-term vehicles, Kamio points to the five vertical slots with the Suzuki "S" logo in front of the center slot. A familiar design cue of the classic Jimny SUV, here this graphic is illuminated and set behind a black-tinted perspex-like cover. Kamio would not be drawn on when the next version of that long-running vehicle would arrive. But given that the third-generation version of the Jimny has been in production since 1998, the mark 4 is long overdue – even by the standards of Jimny's long manufacturing cycles – and is widely expected to arrive in 2018, taking proportional and design detail cues from the e-Survivor.

Suzuki previews Crosshiker, X-Lander, Hustler ahead of Tokyo

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With the Tokyo Motor Show looming on the horizon, Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars it will present at the expo.
First up is the Crosshiker concept, a compact crossover that looks good enough in metallic red, but in its essence reminds us of the oft-maligned X-90 convertible crossover coupe. Based on the G70/Regina concept, the Crosshiker packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine into a compact form that weighs just 1,785 pounds.
Next comes the X-Lander, which strikes us as a smaller take on the formula espoused by the Isuzu VX-02 or Land Rover DC100 Sport concepts. Unfortunately based on the Jimny, the white X-Lander incorporates a 1.3-liter engine with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.

Suzuki latest to admit to falsifying fuel economy tests

Wed, May 18 2016

Suzuki is the latest automaker to be snagged in the broadening scandal of fuel economy falsification. Reuters reports that the head of the Japanese industrial giant admitted that it did not use the proper standards when testing its cars for fuel consumption. "The company apologizes for the fact that we did not follow rules set by the country," said CEO Osamu Suzuki (pictured bowing to reporters), as reported by Reuters. Over 2 million Suzuki vehicles are estimated to be affected. However Suzuki maintains that the company did not intentionally lie or mislead the public or government regulators about its vehicles' economy figures. Japan's transport ministry has ordered domestic automakers to resubmit those figures this week. Though Suzuki withdrew from the North American automobile market nearly four years ago, it remains the fourth largest in Japan (following Toyota, Nissan, and Honda) with particular sales strength in the Kei car segment. Like Honda and Yamaha, the company makes a variety of motorized products, including motorcycles, ATVs, and marine engines. The revelation follows hot on the heels of Mitsubishi's falsification, which broadened in scope from a few Kei cars to every vehicle it has sold in Japan stretching as far back as 1991. The controversy lead to Nissan taking control of a third of Mitsubishi's stock. Prior to that, and on the other side of the world, Volkswagen admitted to engineering its diesel vehicles to cheat emissions tests. Government regulators around the world have launched investigations into numerous other automakers to see how much farther the growing epidemic of falsifying environmental credentials can spread.
