2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Ss 35th Anniversary Convertible 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Orlando, Florida, United States
I'm putting up my 2002 35th anniversary Chevy Camaro SS with the SLP package ( center exhaust, hurst shifter, and SLP instake bumps HP to 345) up for sale. Vehicle has 31 thousand miles on it and it shows. This was my Dad's car and I'm finally willing to part ways with it since it just sits in the garage (3rd vehicle as well) and only gets driven on nice sunny weekends once in a while. So this is your perfect opportunity to own one of Chevy's proudest and limited production cars ever made. Vehicle was always a Florida car so no rust on the vehicle like some northern cars, and as I said it has always been garage kept. Paint on the car is original and in excellent condition. Interior is immaculate and only some minor wear shows on the driver seats. Mechanically everything works on the car like it should. No dash lights or warning lights on, convertible top is original and in excellent working condition. I'm confident that it will pass inspection at any mechanics shop if the buyer wishes to have the vehicle inspected at their expense. Of course if you are looking at this ad you are very aware of how rare this vehicle is with a production number under 3000 for the last year of the F-body Camaro Z28, considering it is a convertible with a 6 speed (like all true muscle and sports cars should be.) and the SLP package added on to it the limited number of this particular car dwindles even further. Below are all the equipment packages that are on the vehicle plus all the other information that would be important to the buyer. I also have a clean carfax, Autocheck and title (clean with no accidents or Brands) in my name which I can provide. I also have the VIN available as well just in case you want to look up any information on the vehicle yourself. I figure I'm available to show the car with appointment only and test drive will be giving with funds in hand or in other circumstances that we agree too if buyer is in florida. With that saying I am willing to entertain offers that are fair value. I Thank you for looking and I hope to hear from you soon. Any questions please email me through this auction, I will get back to promptly.
Willing to ship of course on buyers expense, funds (paypal, loan check, cashiers check, or cash in person). will be verified from an active ebay user with exceptional user feedback before I let go of position of the vehicle and sign the title over. Will require deposit with 48 hours of close of sale Misc: Clean Title in Hand 2 sets of keys and remote Clean Carfax and Autocheck in hand Original Sales brochure Limited production: Only 609 Six speed convertibles built |

Kayaba, Sumitomo to pay millions for price-fixing in US
Sat, Sep 19 2015Kayaba Industry Co, which does business in the US as suspension parts maker KYB, and Sumitomo Electric Industries are facing payments in the millions to settle price-fixing cases about the components that they make. As part of the Department of Justice's ongoing crackdown of price fixing in the auto industry, KYB agreed to pay $62 million and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to set the cost of shock absorbers from the mid '90s through 2012. The company allegedly worked with co-conspirators to keep the cost of the parts high, and those components then made it into vehicles from Honda, Kawasaki, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, and Toyota. "Any collusive agreement among competitors to restrict price competition undercuts our free enterprise system and violates the law," said Carter M. Stewart, US Attorney of the Southern District of Ohio, in the DoJ's announcement. Over the past few years, the DoJ has brought cases against 37 parts suppliers and 55 executives, leading to over $2.6 billion in fines. The investigations haven't always been so successful – some of the Japanese execs fled from the US to avoid prosecution. Critics allege that price fixing is simply how business is done. According to Automotive News, Sumitomo Electric Industries is also facing a $50 million settlement in a civil lawsuit that's related to price fixing of parts like wiring harnesses and heater control panels. The plaintiffs include owners and dealers that purchased vehicles with these parts. The company asserts that the violations are from before 2010, and it now has different process in place to avoid further violations. KYB Agrees to Plead Guilty and Pay $62 Million Criminal Fine for Fixing Price of Shock Absorbers Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd., dba KYB Corporation (KYB) has agreed to plead guilty and to pay a $62 million criminal fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix the price of shock absorbers installed in cars and motorcycles sold to U.S. consumers. According to charges filed today, KYB conspired from the mid-1990s until 2012 to fix the prices of shock absorbers sold to Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (manufacturer of Subaru vehicles), Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., Nissan Motor Company Ltd., Suzuki Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Company, including their subsidiaries in the United States.
Suzuki could disappear from new car market quickly thanks to low inventory
Tue, 06 Nov 2012Yesterday's announcement that American Suzuki has filed for bankruptcy is all but a death blow for the Japanese automaker's 246 US dealers, but if there's any good news coming out of the situation, it could be the fact that the whole process will likely be quick and painless rather than drawn out. WardsAuto is reporting that with the current inventory and average sales numbers so far this year, there figures to be about three months left for Suzuki's new-car business in the US given current sales rates.
In October, Suzuki sold 2,023 units - a five percent increase over last year - but with just 5,549 left in inventory, it shouldn't take too long to wind down operations. Sales for the brand peaked 2007 with more than 100,000 units sold, but this year, Suzuki is barely on pace to reach a quarter of that amount, with just 21,188 units sold so far in 2012. In addition to poor sales, WardsAuto also notes that Suzuki faced problems due to its reliance on customers with subprime credit.
Suzuki will continue to sell motorcycles, ATVs and marine engines in the US, while the brand's cars will still be on sale in other countries including Canada and Mexico.
Car-crazy 5-year-old boy writes automakers for treasures, gets big response
Fri, Jan 25 2019Part of the beauty of children is that they can find worth in something adults might deem unworthy or overlook entirely. Five-year-old Patch Hurty didn't see garbage or a broken piece of a car when he spotted a Ford badge lying on the side of a road. He saw an artifact, a souvenir, a start to a collection he could only dream of. Ezra Dyer of Popular Mechanics tells the story of Patch and his quest to turn that one lost badge into a museum of manufacturer logos. According to the article, Hurty is a car fanatic through and through, even using car names as a way of learning to read. After finding the Ford badge near his Connecticut home, he and his mom put together a plan to reach out to dozens of automakers, confessing his love of things on four wheels. In each letter, Patch assembled a picture of himself standing next to one of the cars, and a penny to pay for whatever he hoped was sent his way. The response was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly positive. Of the more than 50 letters he sent out, including to obscure or defunct companies such as Bugatti, Suzuki, and Saturn, a majority responded with warm notes and some type of souvenir. Two of the coolest responses came from Lincoln and Bentley. Lincoln sent a sketch of a Continental (all car lovers enjoy drawing cars, right?), and Bentley sent a wheel center cap. How awesome is that? The story reminds us of something that can easily be lost in all of the negativity involved with the auto industry: Everybody is in this because of a common infatuation with automobiles. For more details on the souvenirs Patch received and accompanying photos, read the rest of the story. Related Video: News Source: Popular Mechanics Read This Bentley Bugatti Ford Lincoln Saturn Suzuki
