1955 Ford Country Sedan. This has a bit of a rad rod look on the mostly original exterior. Lowered in the front with modern disc brakes and 2 chamber master cylinder (not power). Explorer mag wheels. Had to list "OEM" options in the listing, but real specs - Mild 302 with aluminum intake and new 600 Holley. 1980's style SROD 4 speed overdrive floor shift. 9" rear end. All new 12v harness, bulbs, etc. heating system redone (original). All correct dash. Extra parts included - Radio, clock, trim, misc.  Originally a V-8 car, 3 on the tree.

Most everything about this car is stock or stock appearance. Slight lowering gives the car a great look. Smooth riding and drives easy. Overdrive allows for highway driving at very comfortable revs. All around great ride that really turns heads. Interior side panels need to be redone. Modern radio head unit installed with bluetooth hidden under seat with custom steering wheel type controls to the One-Year-Only round dash radio (must experience, cool feature done myself - details included with car). Extra original Radio included. Extra clock included.  Has a few things that need attention but it's a driving project car. You can get in and drive it home. Everyone stops to look!

Changing interests and just too many projects puts this one for sale.  Hate to sell - It's a Fun Car!  For Sale locally, I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.  Email with any questions or to talk on the phone.  Clear title, running and driving, Sold AS IS.

*********************  Updates  *********************
A few people have obviously asked about rust, underneath, engine bay, Etc.  Email me and I can send more pictures of the car or parts of it.  Additional info:
- Small gas leak near the tank needs to be tended too.  It's a brand new tank, I think it is the line, but unconfirmed.  Time permitting will try to fix.
- Rear passenger floors have glass cloth repairs on the lowest portions of the floors.  They feel solid under foot, but would want attention at some point.
- Front floors have had some small spot repairs.  Again, not soft under foot anywhere.
- Front drivers rocker has 2 small holes, but nothing else through any where.  Appear pretty solid.
- Lower tailgate has some rust and was partially repaired.
- This car was Pennsylvania State inspected expiring 7/13 when I got it in late 2012.  I put antiques on it which don't require inspection so it wasn't reinspected.
- The speedo gear in the (modern) trans is loose on the shaft so the speedo isn't currently working.  You have to take off the tailshaft housing to fix so while apart I was going to rebuild the transmission.  I never got to taking it out and working on it, but I did get a new full transmission rebuild kit with bearings and syncros which is included with the car.
- There is also a NEW set of air shocks for the rear end purchased a few months ago, but never installed included.

Any other questions, just let me know.  Thanks!

Suzuki sallies forth with new C-segment crossover with fishy S-Cross Concept

Thu, 27 Sep 2012

It's not what we'd call attractive, really, but at least the new S-Cross Concept is something fresh from Suzuki. Introduced to the world at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Suzuki says the pale green machine previews its upcoming production C-segment crossover.
We hope some of its fishier elements - according to Suzie, the specially created Crystal Green Metallic body color evokes "nature in the city and the city in nature", whatever that means - remain in the conceptual pond, but either way, it's good to see that the Japanese automaker hasn't lost its will to compete in a heated segment of the market. In fact, Suzuki promises that the S-Cross "will be the first in an ambitious program of annual European model launches which Suzuki will be starting in 2013. "
What are the chances we'll see a production version of this crossover concept in the U.S.? Your Magic 8 Ball is as good as ours... In any case, feel free to peruse the press release below.

Suzuki Jimny gets confused by American guardrails

Wed, Dec 19 2018

The reborn Suzuki Jimny 4x4 has faced some crosswinds in the time it's been on the market: It earned only three stars in its Euro NCAP test due to a badly-inflating driver airbag and troubles with pedestrian protection. The automatic emergency braking function also had some issues in NCAP testing, but now the Jimny's AEB system is facing an another problem — it appears to be confused by guardrails. Two German-market Jimnys had been shipped to Los Angeles for the World Car of the Year testing, Australian journalists found that on some corners of the California test route, the AEB was seemingly triggered by a guardrail in a curve in the road. The problem was found with both Jimnys, and Suzuki's Jimny chief engineer was present to look into the matter; later, Suzuki engineers were able to replicate the glitch with these particular vehicles on the same road. While U.S. sales of the Jimny are extremely unlikely, test data acquired on American roads still seems to be highly valuable for Suzuki, as tests in Japan could not replicate the problem. It appears the road condition, tilt angle, curve aspects and vehicle speed all conspired to puzzle the AEB system, which is now being evaluated for a software or calibration change. The jerky correction by the electronic stability program, audible on the CarAdvice video, happened at 45-55 mph, which is not overly fast for even the narrow and tall Jimny — it is possible that the AEB mistook the guardrail for another car. Suzuki stated: "There is a possibility that the (stability control) is instantaneously switched on (by) reacting to the vehicle sway when departing the S-shaped curve — and then consecutively switches on because the vehicle is circling the curve at high speeds. [...] The intervention of the stability control may give a sense of discomfort to the driver but is not an event that would disturb the vehicle's direction of movement." The driver safety assists are a good addition to the Jimny, of course, given that the 1980s second-generation truck was the subject of a beef between Consumer Reports and Suzuki North America due to its reported tippiness in corners. 2019 Suzuki Jimny First Drive Review | Internet darling, real-world riot

Thu, Sep 27 2018

FRANKFURT — Imagine a Mercedes G-Wagen hit with an incredible shrinking ray, and you'll not be far short of the new fouth-generation Suzuki Jimny, last sold in North America in the mid-1990s as the Samurai. The resemblance is astonishing, but there's enough of the Land Rover Defender, Toyota FJ, Honda Element and Jeep Wrangler in there, too, to keep Merc's copyright lawyers sitting on their hands. Cute as a family of otters in your bath, the new Jimny's proving the social-media hit of the fall, with online fan clubs starting, splintering and re-forming as they argue over which of the six new body colors is their favorite. Yet Jimny's no style pony. That lime green 'Kinetic Yellow' color might be the ultimate urban accessory, but it's formulated to make this tiny utility stand out in bad weather and on building sites. And in a world of fragile multi-clutch-based all-wheel-drive crossovers, Jimny is the real deal: body-on-frame construction, coil-sprung solid axles with three-link location at the rear and a panhard rod at the front, and a transfer-box set of crawler gears. And with entry, exit and breakover angles and ground clearance to rival that of a mountain ibex; this is a proper all-terrain automobile, just at five-eighths scale. It all started of course with Hope: the Japanese Hope Motor Company. Its OM360 was a 1960s Lilliputian take on the World War II Willys MB Jeep. Suzuki bought the design from Hope, and relaunched it with a new engine in 1970 as the first Jimny. Through three generations and 48 years, Jimny's been called variously: SJ; LJ; Farm Worker; Samurai; Gypsy; and Sierra. It's been rebadged as a Mazda and a Maruti, and has sold a total of 2.85 million across 194 countries, including at one time America, though the company pulled out of the U.S. car market in 2012. The outgoing third-generation Jimny had lost its way with a bland, wind-cheating design. The new Jimny is back to basics. Shortened by 1.2 inches, it's now 143.5 inches long, 64.8 inches wide, 67.9 inches high and runs on an 88.6-inch wheelbase. These bonsai dimensions are dictated by the Japanese Kei car, a size and taxation class aimed at tight urban spaces. The new car also gets a stronger, cross-braced ladder frame under the separate body isolated on eight rubber bobbins.
