Suzuki Samurai 4x4 1988 (1988.5) Rust Free on 2040-cars
Linden, Virginia, United States
This is a 1988 and a half Suzuki Samurai. It is in excellent condition. This is my third Samurai and it is by far the nicest (not only the nicest I have ever owned but the nicest I have ever seen). I bought this a couple of years ago off of a certified mechanic. The Samurai runs fantastic, no noises, smoke, or leaks of any kind. Everything functions as new. It has been the perfect little vehicle and has never let me down (ever). It is inspected and has no problem doing 65 to 70 mph. Specs: -Rebuilt Transmission. This was rebuilt by the certified mechanic I purchased it from. I have pictures of the rebuild if needed. -31x10.5 all terrain tires (90% tread or better) on a 5 inch spring over axle lift (SPOA). All of the work was done by After Market 4x4 who specializes in Samurais. -Rocky Road outfitters front bumper (brush guard) with hitch. And a triangle easy-tow-bar which is not pictured, but just makes it a dream to pull behind a motor home (which is what I used this vehicle for). -Tuffy Box center console (nice lockable armrest with 2 cup holders). -Rear tow hitch with rack. -Diamond plate side panels (running boards), door panels (interior), panels above rear tires (interior), and tail gate panel (interior). Body -The certified mechanic that I purchased the vehicle from painted it and did a very good job. The paint is thick and has orange peel texture to it but it looks fantastic and is practically scratch resistant. There are not scratches on the vehicle at all. There are a few small dings on the passenger side that are about penny side but they were too small to come out in photos and really are not noticeable at all. The biggest imperfection on the vehicle is a small ding below the driver side head light (this is covered up by the front bumper and it is just a small ding, about 1 inch by 3 inches. Sorry about all the details, I just want to be thorough. The vehicle looks amazing, it is truly a beauty. Engine -Engine runs great, no noise, smoke, or leaks and has plenty of power. THE BAD: The seats do have a few rips but still function well. I have seat covers on them that look great so I have never worried about getting them re-upholstered. Hope this is enough to give you guys a good idea on how nice this Samurai really is but if you have any questions please feel free to call me at 540-Seven One Eight-0192. Any time after 5 PM Monday-Friday and anytime on the weekend (East Coast Time). I will ship the vehicle at the buyers expense or you can simply fly in and DRIVE IT HOME. I drive the vehicle to a hunting lease about once a month (3 hour round trip). Ebay member for 10 years with 100% positive feedback so bid with confidence. |

Wed, Apr 17 2019NEW YORK — The Jaguar I-Pace has been named World Car of the Year, an award meant to honor the most significant new car introduction and conferred by an international jury of automotive journalist judges. The group announced the winners of additional awards at the New York Auto Show, with the Audi A7 named World Luxury Car of the Year, the McLaren 720S recognized as World Performance Car of the Year, and the Suzuki Jimny named World Urban Car. The I-Pace additionally took home two other awards: World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car of the Year. The WCOTY team of 86 jurors hail from 24 countries, and the organization is independent and not tied to any publication. This is the 15th year for the awards. For this year's World Car of the Year award the top three finalists were the I-Pace, the Audi E-Tron, and the Volvo S60/V60. Minnesota tinkerer selling off 500-plus motorcycles, dirt bikes and scooters
Tue, Sep 17 2019For 25 years, Tony Joslyn's entire life has orbited around motorcycles. After getting into bikes at an early age, Joslyn turned his passion into Road Rash, a salvage house where Joslyn would buy and sell two-wheelers and their parts. He wasn't picky with his workings, either, as he has accrued motorcycles across a huge range of decades and brands. And now it's all up for sale. Suzukis, Yamahas, Harley-Davidsons, Hondas, Kawasakis, and more from the '60s, '70s, '60s, '90s, and '00s are all currently listed on K-Bid.com. There is a variety of size, styles, colors and setups, and a press release says most of the bikes are 'complete and ready for restoration or a tuneup." For Joslyn, the collection just became too much to deal with after all these years. "It's time to clear the herd and slow down," Joslyn said in a release. "Once it starts to feel like a job, you lose some of the joy. I'm looking forward to getting back to working a few motorcycles now and then. ... It's hard to pick a favorite out of the collection, as I am partial to all of them, but I've always enjoyed the Kawasaki 3-cylinders." The bikes are located in Clarks Grove, Minnesota, directly south of Minneapolis roughly near the Iowa border. Interested parties can visit and inspect the bikes before purchasing, and there's plenty of time to do so. Open now, the auction will close October 2, 2019. This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 2008 Suzuki Reno
Thu, Sep 29 2022Next time you're hosting a car-trivia night at your local junkyard/bar (hey, such places exist), you might try to stump your guests with a really tough one: What was the last US-market car to be designed entirely by Daewoo prior to the GM takeover? Sure, Americans could buy the Daewoo-badged Lanos, Nubira, and Leganza for a few years in the early 2000s, and the Verona was really just a slightly updated Leganza with Suzuki badges pasted on. The Chevy Aveo/Pontiac G3 was the descendant of the Lanos, but that special Daewoo sauce had been diluted by other GM flavors by the time it hit our shores. I say the answer is the Daewoo Lacetti — yes, that Lacetti — which was sold in the United States as the Suzuki Forenza (in sedan form) and Suzuki Reno (as a hatchback). Here's an example of one of the very last Renos you could buy here, found in a car graveyard near Denver, Colorado. The South Korea-built Reno never made much of an impression on the reviewers at this — or, I'm pretty sure, any — publication, despite having been styled by Giugiaro, though it was very reasonably priced during its 2005-2008 American sales run. My only experience driving the Reno comes from the time I rented one in South Carolina for just $9.98 a day. For that price, I thought it was a perfectly serviceable transportation appliance. Suzuki had been building cars for GM since the first Cultus hit American showrooms as the 1985 Chevrolet Sprint, and ties between the two companies became stronger as the 20th century became the 21st. They joined forces to buy bankrupt Daewoo in 2004, with American Suzuki selling the hastily-rebadged Nubira starting the next year. After a bit of excitement over the promising Suzuki Kizashi, American Suzuki filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and ceased selling cars here the following year. Don't feel too bad for Suzuki, though — in Japan, the company has had years of smash sales success with the Hustler, and of course Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs remain popular here. How much was this little Daewoo when new? With the base five-speed manual transmission, the MSRP on the base '08 Reno was $13,839, or about $19,425 in 2022 dollars. However, this car has the automatic transmission, an $1,100 option ($1,545 now). You did get air conditioning and an AM/FM stereo in the base '08 Reno. This car has the optional CD player with AUX input. Honda had VTEC and Daewoo had D-TEC.
