Up For auction is my 1988 Samurai Hardtop. This is a rare item as it is almost 100% rust free! Excellent looking and excellent running/mechanical condition. I drove 5 hrs to pick up this samurai from western PA then drove it home. It was owned by two mechanics prior to me. They did a lot of work to it, which I will try to describe.
here is the list of things I think are worth mentioning,
Has a Weber Carb,,Thorley Headers, new high preformace clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, upgraded blue halogen headlights, aftermarket brush guard with front end tow hitch, new rear shocks, new serpentine belt, has recent new brakes, recent tune up, does not leak oil or any other fluids, runs great throughout all rpms, aftermarket front seats. Truck was painted from its original teal green to black. the undercarriage has been done with some type of protective spray. It has a 4 inch spoa lift with the appropriate axle spacers. 15 inch Mickey Thompson Classic wheels, 31x70x15 Mickey Thompson Super Swampers with about 80% tread life, the tires and rims alone are worth about $1000 used. The front and rear windows have been replaced and there is new rubber surrounds for each.
There is a spot of surface rust that you can see starting to bubble under the paint just below the windshield on the passengers side. it is about two inches long and a inch wide. ,I have not been able to engage the four wheel drive,,it may be something I am doing wrong, I never had it looked at. Other than that ,this is a daily driver. It starts right up and has never let me down. I do love this Samurai. I hate to sell it but I need the money....It turns heads wherever it goes! This is a no reserve auction and it will go to the highest bidder. Please be ready to pay in cash or certified check within three days of auctions end, or don't bid. If you want to pay me with a certified check,,thats fine,,but be aware,,the title will not switch hands until that check is cashed. I have heard of certified check scams on ebay and refuse to be that victim.
Can be seen and test driven in Ocean City NJ,,feel free to call me with any questions or comments,,609-780-0050, but there will be no but it now price. Bid with confidence,,though this is an awesome little truck,,,Happy Bidding,, Jeff

Suzuki considering Cappuccino revival?
Tue, 13 Aug 2013It's not a secret that a few of us here at Autoblog have a crush on Japanese Kei cars. The diminutive sizes and cheeky looks of most of the segment are certainly endearing factors, but it was the sporting Kei cars of the 1990s that made for the most delicious forbidden fruit.
Suzuki's entry in that time and market space was the Cappuccino, a rear-wheel-drive coupe with a removable roof and roll bar, powered by a 657cc three-cylinder motor. The car hung around the Japanese market until 1997 (and was booted up in Gran Turismo form for years after that). Now, rumor has it that the little coupe could be getting a reboot around 2016.
The reports are still a bit short on detail; some indicate that a new Cappuccino could be built up on an existing Kei platform from Suzuki. If the new car were to keep the RWD layout of the original, however, that would mean building up the model on the live-rear-axle bones of the Suzuki Jimny or Carry.
Car-crazy 5-year-old boy writes automakers for treasures, gets big response
Fri, Jan 25 2019Part of the beauty of children is that they can find worth in something adults might deem unworthy or overlook entirely. Five-year-old Patch Hurty didn't see garbage or a broken piece of a car when he spotted a Ford badge lying on the side of a road. He saw an artifact, a souvenir, a start to a collection he could only dream of. Ezra Dyer of Popular Mechanics tells the story of Patch and his quest to turn that one lost badge into a museum of manufacturer logos. According to the article, Hurty is a car fanatic through and through, even using car names as a way of learning to read. After finding the Ford badge near his Connecticut home, he and his mom put together a plan to reach out to dozens of automakers, confessing his love of things on four wheels. In each letter, Patch assembled a picture of himself standing next to one of the cars, and a penny to pay for whatever he hoped was sent his way. The response was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly positive. Of the more than 50 letters he sent out, including to obscure or defunct companies such as Bugatti, Suzuki, and Saturn, a majority responded with warm notes and some type of souvenir. Two of the coolest responses came from Lincoln and Bentley. Lincoln sent a sketch of a Continental (all car lovers enjoy drawing cars, right?), and Bentley sent a wheel center cap. How awesome is that? The story reminds us of something that can easily be lost in all of the negativity involved with the auto industry: Everybody is in this because of a common infatuation with automobiles. For more details on the souvenirs Patch received and accompanying photos, read the rest of the story. Suzuki will road-test EVs in India, start production with Toyota in 2020
Fri, Sep 7 2018NEW DELHI — Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp will start testing prototypes of electric vehicles in India by October, its chairman said on Friday. "We will start road-running tests using a fleet of 50 EV prototype vehicles in India from next month in order to develop safe and easy-to-use EVs for Indian customers," Osamu Suzuki said at the Global Mobility Summit at New Delhi. The company would then launch EVs in India around 2020 in cooperation with Toyota, he added. However, Suzuki said that for EVs to become popular in India, there had to be well-developed charging infrastructure. "In this regard, we look forward to proactive leadership from the Indian government," he said. The government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a plan to electrify all new vehicles by 2030, a target many experts call ambitious. EVs are expensive due to the high cost of batteries which are still not manufactured in India, and carmakers say a lack of charging stations could make the proposition unviable. Suzuki, parent of India's top-selling automaker, Maruti Suzuki, would start production of lithium-ion batteries for automobiles at its plant in western India from 2020, Suzuki said. India is one of the world's fastest-growing car markets, but EV sales are negligible compared with millions of petrol and diesel cars sold every year. Suzuki said to meet India's environmental challenges, the government would have to look at hybrid and CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles also.Related Video:
