It has one small rust hole on the passenger side rear where the top rests. Immaculate interior, no rips/tears, all original equipment, no modifications. Radio/Cassette has a blown in-line fuse that can easily be replaced, I just never got around to removing the stereo. I replaced all 4 sets of pads and rotors and the battery when I originally bought it, and last year I replaced the catalytic converter. Needs nothing else, is currently inspected in Pennsylvania. Runs great."

1984 Suzuki SJ410 4X4 with only 39,000 original miles. All original equipment, no modifications. Suzuki started selling vehicles in the United States officially in 1985, but in 1984 gave their motorcyle dealers a small number of SJ410 models. This was sold originally at the Lewistown, PA Suzuki bike store and traded at my former employer, Five Star Suzuki. It sat in our showroom from 2001 until 2012 when I purchased it from the owner. I have since then only put on about 500 miles. I replaced the brake pads and rotors all the way around and it has a new catalytic converter. It is the soft top version and the top is torn along the rear zipper but could be repaired. Has one rust hole where the top meets the body. Original radio/cassette needs a new in-line fuse, other than that is perfect. I have all the original manuals and the shop manual. I work at a car dealership in State College, PA, so the purchase can be done right here. Buyer would have to pay tax/tags in the state they are registering it in, or if in Pennsylvania I can do it here. Only fee for an out of state deal would be a $131 documentary fee. Pictures to follow tomorrow as I had to borrow a camera. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ELLEN AT (814) 360-2822 WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

EU finds Jeep Grand Cherokee and Suzuki Vitara break emissions rules

Thu, Jan 23 2020

AMSTERDAM — Fiat Chrysler's Jeep Grand Cherokee and Suzuki's Vitara diesel models both break emissions rules and must be fixed or face a ban on sales across Europe, the Dutch road authority ruled on Thursday. The RDW authority, acting as the reference regulator for across the European Union, said Jeep had developed a software fix and that the authority had ordered the company to recall the model across Europe to roll it out. It added Suzuki had yet to find a credible solution for the Vitara. "Suzuki must come with adequate improvement measures or the RDW will begin the process of revoking its European type approval," the RDW said in a statement, adding it had also started the process of revoking approval for the Jeep Grand Cherokee as a "precautionary measure." Regulators across the world have been testing diesel models since Volkswagen admitted in 2015 that it used illegal software to cheat U.S. emissions tests. The RDW said it had found both the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Vitara had used "prohibited emissions strategies" that led them to emit higher levels of harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) on the road than under testing conditions. Dutch State Secretary for Infrastructure, Stientje van Veldhoven, said in a letter to parliament she would inform prosecutors of the RDW's findings. Fiat Chrysler and Suzuki could not immediately be reached for comment. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

New Suzuki Swift Sport to be lighter and torquier

Wed, Sep 13 2017

The Suzuki Swift Sport has been one of the most interesting hot hatches of the last decade, well at least outside the United States. Its first iteration was released in 2005, leaving behind its crummy Geo Metro guise in favor of something more in line dynamically with the segment best. Though it may have been an underdog from day one, the Swift Sport proved itself to be both fun and reliable The new car promises to up the ante with a stiffer structure and a footprint increased courtesy a 20 mm-longer wheelbase and a stance that's 40 mm wider and 15 mm lower. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder Suzuki cheekily calls the Boosterjet, ditching the old 1.6-liter naturally aspirated inline-4. The downsized, intercooled 138-horsepower turbo engine gives the Swift Sport only four more horsepower than the old unit, but there is a lot more torque available and at lower revs. Another major improvement is a weight loss of nearly 180 pounds -- definitely a big deal in a small car like this -- as the new model tips the scales at less than 2,140 lbs. Suzuki says the feel of the six-speed manual shifter has been improved, too. "It's lighter, sharper, quicker. It's more aggressive and emotive, but we've also refined the elements that make it practical to use every day," said Suzuki chief engineer Masao Kobori. "The clutch feel, the manual transmission shift throw, the seats and steering wheel -- everything that puts the driver at the heart of the experience." Sounds neat, though with Suzuki gone from the U.S. market, it'll remain forbidden fruit for American customers. On the other hand, you can apparently rent these in Germany. Nurburgring rental anyone? American Suzuki Motors files chapter 11, will no longer sell cars in the United States

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

As much as we knew it was a possibility, we have to say that Suzuki's announcement this afternoon that it is filing chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings caught us a bit off guard. American Suzuki Motor Corporation - the sole distributor of Suzuki automobiles in the United States - will realign its business to focus on motorcycles, ATVs and the marine market.
What does this mean in simple terms? In short, new Suzuki cars and trucks will no longer be sold by Suzuki in the United States once current supplies run out. Period.
Suzuki cites "low sales volumes, a limited number of models in its lineup, unfavorable foreign exchange rates, the high costs associated with growing and maintaining an automotive distribution system in the continental US and the disproportionally high and increasing costs associated with stringent state and federal regulatory requirements unique to the US market."
