2002 Subaru Impreza Wrx Hatchback on 2040-cars
Columbus, Ohio, United States
For sale is my 02 WRX Hatchback, silver in color with only 85k miles on
her. The vehicle has a upgraded sound system by Rockford and Pioneer
with a DVD/MP3/CD player which makes for fun road trips. The suspension
has also been upgraded to adjustable struts and both upper and lower
strut bars for the front and rear. The wheels are aftermarket and have
been painted flat black, I think looks better due to the tented windows.
Turbo has been upgraded by previous owner and installed a front
intercooler and upgraded bov both by TurboXS, currently front intercooler has been bypassed back to stock top intercooler with oem bypass valve but the upgraded bov will be included in sale. The fuel system has all
been upgraded with Perrin rails. The vehicle will come with a
engine management module to allow for tuning. Also has Perrin cold air intake. While owning vehicle I
have replaced the transmission with a rebuilt one and installed a new
clutch and resurfaced the flywheel which is built by ACT. Also I have
replaced the timing belt with a OEM Gates belt.
The bad: car has check engine light on and is throwing codes for P0365 and P0390 both for cam position sensors for bank 1 and 2. Car is idling alittle rough and will stall out when coming to a stop. Car is sold as is. |

Autoblog goes on an African safari, Subaru-Style
Fri, 21 Jun 2013... And Learns To Love The Ostrich
Subaru may be the ostrich of the Japanese auto industry.
When one thinks of a safari, they naturally draw pictures in their mind's eye of wild animals, like lions, elephants and giraffes. I'm no different, and it was with visions of long telephoto lenses over vast runes and dunes that I embarked on a 19-hour plane ride from Phoenix, Arizona to Plettenberg Bay in South Africa, camera gear in tow.
Subaru WRX S4 gets big power bump in Japan
Mon, 25 Aug 2014A month after originally teasing it, Subaru is finally unveiling its WRX S4 model for Japan. It's a bit more than just a plush take on the sport sedan, because Subaru is fitting a more powerful version of the 2.0-liter, turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine than we get on these shores.
The company says that S4 stands for "'Sports performance', 'Safety performance', 'Smart driving' and 'Sophisticated feel," and it certainly looks like this Rex ticks all of those boxes. The most surprising feature is the Japanese model's 2.0-liter turbo engine boasting 296 horsepower (221 kilowatts) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque in this application. That's quite a healthy upgrade over the 268 hp and 258 lb-ft that Americans get in the standard WRX, and it's even nipping at the heels of the 305 hp and 290 lb-ft from the STI with a 2.5-liter mill that we get over here.
While extra power is always welcome, enthusiasts might not be so thrilled that Subaru's Sport Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission is the sedan's only available gearbox. However, it offers a simulated eight-speed shifting mode when drivers notch the car into Sport# driving mode. Of course, the S4 also packs Subie's trademark all-wheel drive with Vehicle Dynamics Control and Active Torque Vectoring as standard.
Mark Higgins sets new Isle of Man record in Subaru STI
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Subaru has done it again, setting a new four-wheel lap record around the 37.75-mile TT Mountain Course at the Isle of Man. Mark Higgins in a 2015 WRX STI rocketed through the country roads at an average speed of 116.40 miles per hour to circle the track in 19 minutes, 26 seconds, thereby beating his previous record of 19 minutes 56.7 seconds from 2011 in an STI.
According to Subaru, speeds during the lap ranged from as little as 30 mph to over 160 mph. The STI was mostly stock with the only major mechanical change being different springs and dampers to handle the course's famous bumps at such sustained high speeds. For safety, it also had a rollcage, racing harness, and fire suppression system.
"It was quite a lap we did today and I am really happy to have another record in the bank. The chassis of the new car is so much better it really allowed me to pick up time in each sector in the more technical parts of the course," said Higgins about the run in the Subaru.
